Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character, CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman. New Rules At The Warner Bros. Booth At Comic-Con

If you have ever been to Comic-Con you know how crazy and out of control the Warner Bros. booth gets with all their awesome swag and autograph signings they do for their shows.

Looks like this year they are going to be following Comic-Con's official ticket distribution rules.

So if you want those autographs from the cast of such shows as Chuck, Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and more.

Comic-Con and Warner Bros. Entertainment are announcing today that Warner Bros. will follow the official Comic-Con International: San Diego ticket distribution system for autograph signings at this year's event.

As in years past, all signings will be held at the Warner Bros. booth, which is #4545 on the Comic-Con show floor. But under the long-standing Comic-Con system, Warner Bros. will distribute wristbands for signings via daily ticket drawings held at Sails Pavilion #9 inside the San Diego Convention Center.

"Safety is always our main concern with signings or events, so it is Comic-Con policy that access is regulated by a drawing for a chance to win -- giving all attendees an equal opportunity to enter," said David Glanzer, director of marketing and public relations for Comic-Con International. "We are happy that Warner Bros. has agreed to utilize this system and thank them for once again offering such unique opportunities to our attendees this year, as well as their continued support of Comic-Con."

Fans interested in attending signings at the Warner Bros. booth should review the schedule listed below, then plan to visit the Sails Pavilion at the time of each drawing. All fans present at the appointed time will receive numbered tickets that feature a distinct sticker. Then a randomized drawing will determine which fans receive wristbands granting access to each autograph line.

See below for the current schedule of ticket distribution and signing start times.

Ray Stevenson Cast As Firefly In G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes

Thor actor Ray Stevenson has been cast as villain Firefly in Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. The action movie, to be directed by Jon M. Chu, begins shooting in Louisiana at the end of summer and is slated for release in August 2012.

Stevenson will appear opposite Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson in the film, which is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and follows G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a hit in 2009.

Stevenson’s Firefly is a member of the villainous Cobra Organization and is known as a saboteur, ninja master and explosives expert.

Other than Tatum, Cobra Strikes will feature an entirely new cast; in addition to franchise newcomers Johnson and Stevenson, the film will include Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, RZA and D.J. Cotrona.

In this summer’s Thor, which has grossed more than $400 million worldwide, Stevenson played Volstagg, one of the Warriors Three. He will next be seen in Summit’s The Three Musketeers in the role of Porthos. The 3D feature is slated for release on October 21. He is finishing production on Jayne Mansfield’s Car, which is being directed by Billy Bob Thorton and also features Kevin Bacon and Robert Duvall.

Space Invaders To Invade The Theaters Soon

Get ready for the Space Invaders movie.

The classic 1980s arcade game from Taito and Midway, which is ranked as the top arcade game of all time by Guinness World Records, is heading to the big screen courtesy of producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Odd Lot Entertainment’s Gigi Pritzker.

The two have teamed up to option the rights and develop the project and are now on the hunt for a writer to come up with a story.

One of the first video games, Space Invaders is credited with taking the medium from a sideshow attraction to a mainstream obsession. The shooter game was technically released in 1978 but made its pop culture mark by the turn of the decade. It featured rows upon rows of aliens (or their ships) raining laser death upon a lone player who took cover behind slowly disintegrating blocks. There have been other rumored attempts to develop a film but none has gone anywhere.

With Space Invaders, the producers are facing an interesting challenge: The video game doesn’t have a built-in mythology, so on one hand a film won’t risk offending game fans. Conversely, coming up with a captivating universe, especially for video game adaptations, is no easy task.

For di Bonaventura, Space Invaders is the latest of a string of projects based on 80s touchstones. He is a producer on the Transformers and G.I. Joe movies, both based on popular Me Decade toys. And he is developing Asteroids, based on the classic arcade game, and a remake of 1989's Pet Sematary.

Pritzker’s Odd Lot is one of the key companies behind Drive, the much-buzzed-about thriller from Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling, and is a producer on Ender’s Game, the adaptation of the Orson Scott Card sci-fi novel.

Relativity Media Nabs Machine Gun Preacher

Relativity Media announced today that it has acquired North American rights from Lionsgate to theatrically market and distribute Machine Gun Preacher. Directed and produced by DGA and Golden Globe®-nominee Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Monster’s Ball) and written by Jason Keller (Relativity’s Untitled Snow White Project), the film stars Gerard Butler (300) in a tour de force performance and will release in Los Angeles and New York on September 23, 2011. The film will expand markets in the weeks to follow. Lionsgate will continue to oversee international distribution on the film, working in partnership with Relativity.

The film also showcases powerful performances by an ensemble cast, including Michelle Monaghan (Due Date), Kathy Baker (Cold Mountain), Oscar®-nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), Madeline Carroll (The Spy Next Door) and breakout actor Souleymane Sy Savane (Goodbye Solo).

Machine Gun Preacher is based on the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing criminal who finds faith leading him on a path to East Africa. Shocked by the mayhem in Sudan, Childers becomes a crusader for hundreds of refugee children. Inspired to create a safe haven for the multitudes fleeing enslavement by the brutal Lord’s Resistance Army, he restores peace to their lives and eventually his own.

Producing are Relativity’s Robbie Brenner, Safady Entertainment’s Gary Safady and Craig Chapman, and GG Filmz’s Deborah Giarratana.

“This is a powerful story, and we feel strongly that it is one audiences need to see. Forster once again proves that he is among the best directors of our time and Butler delivers a career-defining performance bolstered by a rock solid supporting cast,” says Relativity’s President of Worldwide Production, Tucker Tooley.

“The film is blessed to have two passionate partners in Relativity and Lionsgate. I’m excited to be working with both companies to bring the incredible story of Sam Childers to the world. I’m really proud of my cast, and all of their hard work in making this movie that means so much to all of us personally,” said Forster.

“We have a longstanding relationship with Marc, and given that together we felt it was best for the film to be released domestically this year, we are very happy that Relativity is able to handle it,” says Mike Paseornek, Lionsgate’s President of Motion Picture Production and Development.

Looking ahead, Relativity will release David Ellis’ Shark Night 3D on September 2, 2011 and then the highly-anticipated Immortals on November 11, 2011, starring Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans and Kellan Lutz with John Hurt and Mickey Rourke. The studio is in production on its Untitled Snow White Project (in theatres March 16, 2012), starring Lily Collins as Snow White, Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts as the evil Queen, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen. Relativity’s expansive 2012 slate also includes Haywire (in theatres January 20, 2012), Act of Valor (in theatres February 17, 2012), Untitled Raven Project (in theatres March 9, 2012), Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Project (in theatres April 13, 2012), House at the End of the Street (in theatres April 20, 2012), Safe Haven (in theatres June 1, 2012) and Hunter Killer (in theatres December 21, 2012).

Warner Bros. Has Found "Undying Love"

Warner Bros. is diving into the deep pool of the vampire genre, picking up Undying Love, a comic book mini-series published by Image Comics.

Stephen L’Heureux and Benderspink, run by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, are producing.

Created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman, Love mixes up the traditional vampire lore with Chinese monster myths as well as the Hong Kong action genre.

The story centers on an ex-soldier who falls for a girl that happens to be a vampire. The only way the two can be together is if the man takes on the vampire who created her, which also means fighting an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.

Coker and Freedman will write the script.

Sequel To Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs Is In The Works

When it came out in 2009, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" quickly became part of a growing class of well-reviewed, successful animated movies made outside the Pixar machine. Now Sony Pictures Animation is looking to keep the weather system churning.

A sequel that has been in early development at the studio is getting a new push, with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writers of this weekend's release, "Horrible Bosses," coming on to write a draft of the script, according to a person familiar with the project who asked not to be identified.

Though the first film was loosely based on the 1970s children's book of the same title written by Ron and Judi Barrett, the sequel will be based on an original idea, not the Barretts' follow-up book, "Pickles to Pittsburgh," the person added.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are not returning to direct the sequel; instead, the producers are set to hire a director who had worked in a lower-profile capacity developing the story for the original, the person added. A Sony spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The original "Cloudy" film tracked an inventor named Flint Lockwood and a nerdy weather forecaster in the fantasy town of Chewandswallow, which comes under threat when food begins falling from the sky in place of normal precipitation. It's not known if the new movie will be presented in 3-D; the first movie was not, though Sony subsequently released a 3-D Blu-ray version.

"Horrible Bosses," starring Jason Bateman and Charlie Day, is an R-rated comedy featuring several murder plots and a number of bawdy set pieces. The writers will be working in a different key for the family-oriented "Cloudy" sequel (though the original was rated PG, not G). Daley and Goldstein also penned the upcoming Steve Carell film "Burt Wonderstone," but audiences might be most familiar with Daley from his days playing the lead character Sam Weir on the cult TV hit "Freaks and Geeks."

Sony has reason to push forward with a "Cloudy" sequel. The original, with voices including Bill Hader and Anna Faris, grossed $125 million in the U.S. and an additional $118 million around the world.

NEW ‘RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES’ iPhone / iPad APP ASKS:
ARE YOU SMARTER THAN AN…APE?

LOS ANGELES, (July 6, 2011) – 20TH Century Fox have released a new app for the iPhone and iPad that poses an intriguing question: are you smarter than an ape? The app is based on an actual intelligence test done at Kyoto University (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/12/071203-AP-chimp-memory.html), and parallels the central storyline of the new studio’s upcoming film “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” in which a scientist’s tampering with the laws of nature leads to the development of superior intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

The test is as simple as it is revealing: the numbers 1-9 appear on the screen in random positions, and then are quickly covered. You must remember their positions, and then touch the squares in numeric order, in order to pass to the next round. A number is added for each round, so after several rounds recreating their proper positions becomes quite a challenge – for humans, that is. Studies show that young chimps outperform adult humans in this memory test. “We were very surprised to find this,” Tetsuro Matsuzawa of the Primate Research Institute at Kyoto University said. “But it’s a very concrete, simple fact. Young chimps are superior to human adults in a memory task.”

To play the app, you must first select one of three skill levels – “Easy,” “Hard,” and “Ape” – which determine how long the numbers are displayed. The most difficult level, “Ape” mimics the speed a typical primate can accomplish the task.

In addition to the game, the app offers access to the latest content about “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” including the theatrical trailer, movie tickets (when available), and the “Apes Will Rise” YouTube channel. You can also learn more about the history of the tests that measured apes’ surprising intelligence.

The app will be available for free download on iTunes beginning Thursday July 7th, 2011. For more information about the app visit http://www.apeswillrise.com/app/

Based on a gripping, unbelievable true story of money, power and opulent decadence, Lionsgate’s THE DEVIL’S DOUBLE takes a white-knuckle ride deep into the lawless playground of excess and violence known as Baghdad, 1987. Summoned from the frontline to Saddam Hussein's palace, Iraqi army lieutenant Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper) is thrust into the highest echelons of the "royal family" when he’s ordered to become the ‘fiday’ – or body double – to Saddam's son, the notorious "Black Prince" Uday Hussein (also Dominic Cooper), a reckless, sadistic party-boy with a rabid hunger for sex and brutality. With his and his family’s lives at stake, Latif must surrender his former self forever as he learns to walk, talk and act like Uday. But nothing could have prepared him for the horror of the Black Prince’s psychotic, drug-addled life of fast cars, easy women and impulsive violence. With one wrong move costing him his life, Latif forges an intimate bond with Sarrab (Ludivine Sagnier), Uday's seductive mistress who’s haunted by her own secrets. But as war looms with Kuwait and Uday’s depraved gangster regime threatens to destroy them all, Latif realizes that escape from the devil’s den will only come at the highest possible cost.

Featuring a riveting double performance by Dominic Cooper (AN EDUCATION, MAMA MIA) in the roles of Latif Yahia and Uday Hussein, THE DEVIL’S DOUBLE is a dynamic, chilling adaptation of Latif Yahia’s autobiographical novel, charting one man’s defiant struggle to survive a viper's pit of corruption and brutality.
