The Girl on The Train is a messy but expertly-acted thriller. Review by Matt Cummings In the world of feminist hype, men and women seem strictly divided on opposite sides of the street: men are perceived as evil, while women are silent victims doomed to never right their ship. Universal's The Girl on The Train never gets that smart, wasting a ton of good performances on gratuitous skin scenes that do nothing to further the unsatisfying and messy plot. Chris Evans & Jared Leto Could Join The Girl on the Train

Variety is reporting Chris Evans and Jared Leto are in early talks to board DreamWorks’ adaptation of “ The Girl on the Train .” The duo joins Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett in the adaptation of the Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel. Sources indicate negotiations are still ongoing, and that schedules and finances still have to be figured out. The story follows a woman ( Blunt ) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect couple who lives in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the married couple. If the deals go through, Evans would play Ferguson’s husband and Leto would play Bennett’s husband. Tate Taylor is directing from Cressida Wilson’s script. Marc Platt will produce the film, while Jared LeBoff of Marc Platt Prods. will serve as executive producing.
