'Flight of the Conchords' Will Fly No More

'Flight of the Conchords' Will Fly No More

After months of speculation, the quirky HBO comedy series' co-creators Bret McKenzie, Jemaine Clement and James Bobin broke the news on their Web site.

"We've noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won't be returning for a third season," they wrote. "We're very proud of the two seasons we made, and we like the way the show ended."

Weaving story line and original songs, combined with the fact that the trio continues to reside in their native New Zealand, makes "Conchords" difficult to produce, prompting speculation over the past few months that McKenzie, Clement and Bobin would not return for a third season.

The show's second season earned a best comedy series nomination and a best actor nom for Clement.

One thing leads to another, however, and the close-knit group of toy friends find themselves stranded at a day-care center, where they must survive mistreatment at the hands of careless children until Woody can find them a new home.

Twilight's New Moon Bootleggers Get Charges Dropped

Twilight's New Moon Bootleggers Get Charges Dropped

Charges have been dropped against a 22-year-old Chicago woman accused of videotaping part of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" at a movie theater.

Cook County prosecutors on Friday announced in court that they won't pursue charges against Samantha Tumpach.

Tumpach was arrested Nov. 28 in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont and faced a felony charge of illegally copying the film.

She had about three minutes of "New Moon" on her digital camera. Tumpach has said she was taping her sister's birthday party and wasn't trying to record the movie.

The film's director, Chris Weitz, came to Tumpach's defense. He told the Chicago Sun-Times there's a difference between trying to protect a copyright and prosecuting someone who didn't mean to commit video piracy.

Ghostbusters 3 Spoiler Sigourney Weaver Spills The Slime

Ghostbusters 3 Spoiler Sigourney Weaver Spills The Slime

Channel 4 news in the UK recently did an interview with Sigourney Weaver to talk about the upcoming James Cameron film Avatar. During the interview she started talking about Ghostbusters 3

So here is what Weaver had to say:

Don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking "would you read the script."

To me it looks like she has already taken a look at the script.

I know that my little son Oscar, who was kidnapped from me… I think he has grown up to be a Ghostbuster.

Oscar was the little baby in Ghostbusters 2 that was kidnapped in the film.

I might be in it, I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it… he’s a ghost.

What Dr. Peter Venkman as a ghost? What happened? Did they kill him off and he returns from the dead. Can not wait to hear more news on this film.

Exclusive Expendables Set Visit. Where The Three Action Gods Came Together

Exclusive Expendables Set Visit. Where The Three Action Gods Came Together

Our Good friends over at TheArnoldfans took a long and well worth trip to the site where three Ballsy Action heroes came together for one scene in the Upcoming Film "Expendables."

Here's is TAFs Exclusive report. To view all the pictures Click here

Here's an "Expendables" exclusive for you! Only TheArnoldFans takes you inside the holy chapel where our 3 Wise men, Arnold, Sly and Bruce, acted out their scene in what's sure to be the greatest cameo ensemble of the 21st century. After I contacted the Hollywood Presbyterian Church on Gower street, the location where the ex Planet Hollywood Gods had earlier wrapped the cameo (Oct 24th), I was told by church representatives that they were surprised to hear I knew about this chosen film location. It was not advertised or written about in any newspaper. Only Sly's unit publicist for the film, Sheryl Main, would tip me off so I could be certain to arrange this set visit.

On Saturday, December 5th, I was given proper clearance and a tour given by the lead security guard, Ross Benson, on the grounds and brought into the one and only chosen chapel: the Wylie Chapel. Ross was not there on the day of the five pages of script / six hour film shoot but did still manage to give me a little information about the church.

Avatar Getting Encouraging Feedback About The Film

Avatar Getting Encouraging Feedback About The Film

Avatar screened last night in London for members of the press and US screenings started this morning. I saw the film first thing today, and embargo keeps me from saying anything about it. Twitter has been fairly quiet, with those who’ve seen it abiding by the embargo so far.

But some UK outlets don’t care as much about the embargo, and there is already a full-fledged review in The Sun and some useful comments in The Guardian.

The Sun’s ‘review’ is typical for the paper — thin and shallow. But it is quite exuberant. “The final battle scene is 20 minutes long and absolutely mind-blowing,” the paper says. “It is overwhelming, and that is because you are emotionally tied up in the characters and the story.”
The Guardian is more interested in preserving the embargo, but does pass along a couple of rumor-busting notes that are very much worth paying attention to: “And there have been a lot of rumours…Rumours that the 3D effects were making people nauseous. Rumours that the film, two hours and 40 minutes long, was a complete car crash. The Guardian can reveal that the last two are untrue. The film does not make you feel sick and it is not a disaster.”

And Alex Billington from FirstShowing said over Twitter: “James Cameron is a freakin’ genius! I can’t say much but wow, I loved it. Avatar was phenomenal, pretty much blew me away,” before adding “I can’t answer any questions guys but I can say I loved it. Also saw Neill Blomkamp at our screening, he loved it too. :)” while Ed Douglas from ComingSoon says, “I’ll take my chances with Fox legal…. Avatar was amazing, I loved it!”

Currently, the review embargo isn’t set to lift until the film’s opening day (Friday, the 18th) which, in this case may be counter-productive. Judging by what I overheard after the screening, you can expect to see reviews that run from cautiously positive to rather enthusiastic. One would think that might provide a little boost to the movie.

Here are some more Twitter reactions:

@petershall: “The AVATAR buzz is an understatement. That movie was unbelievable.”

@chasewhale: “Just finished AVATAR. Special effects were top notch. The movie ran a little long for my likings but I liked it!”

@comingsoonnet” “Okay, about Avatar?…. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Unbelievable… amazing.”

@MikePereira21: Was blown away by Avatar! For 150 minutes, I was a kid again. Thank you James Cameron! BTW, the groundbreaking 3D was mindblowing.”

@rejects: “I’m not supposed to talk about Avatar… That said, it was a spectacular experience. Like nothing I’ve seen before.”

@markwalters74: “Just saw AVATAR. Not allowed to talk about it yet. Not allowed to say how it’s an amazing visual feast, or that Jimmy C’s still got the gift.”

@dmann11: “Holy effing crap!!! Avatar was FREAKING AWESOME KICK ASS SWEET!!!!!”

@TheGate: “For the record ‘Avatar’ was worth the $400 million, and no it is not even remotely “vomit inducing”.

Lauren Kate's "Fallen" To Be Made Into A Film

Lauren Kate's "Fallen" To Be Made Into A Film

Does this sound like Twilight?

Do we need another film and novels to drive the women crazy. Isn't Twilight enough?

And I am fine with Twilight I enjoyed the first movie, and yes I haven't seen New Moon yet.

What could be dreamier for a young girl than having sparkly vampires and cute werewolf boys fighting over her? How about having two fallen angels fighting over her for centuries?

Disney's betting on the latter, having just optioned Young Adult author Lauren Kate's novel "Fallen", the first in a projected four-volume series, that has just that premise, The novel, which just came out this week from Delacorte Books for Young Readers, centers on a 17-year-old girl named Lucinda, who just like Isabella "Bella" Swan from Twilight has a name that is shortened to something nice and Latinate with an implied deeper meaning, "Luce." Luce goes to the Sword and Cross School, where she meets "Fallen" cuddle muffins Daniel and Cam.

Josh Brolin To Star In Men In Black 3?

Josh Brolin To Star In Men In Black 3?

Josh Brolin could be going from "W." to K.

Now he may be adding "Men in Black 3" to that estimable list.

The actor is being considered for a role that would have him donning the black suit and shades for the third installment of the sci-fi comedy franchise. His exact part is a matter of discussion, but in recent days there's been chatter in Hollywood development circles of a few possibilities: He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely.

Whatever the part, Brolin could be playing against some star power: Will Smith is expected to return in the new "MIB" as Agent J.

It wouldn't mark the first time J ran missions with someone else. In the second film, his character briefly chased aliens and erased memories with other partners before Jones' Agent K came out of retirement. UPDATE: According to people familiar with the project, Brolin would play a young Agent K, with Smith's Agent J traveling back in time to meet him.

Sony is currently contemplating a production start for the picture in 2010 (though it has yet to be greenlit). The film, which is based on a script by "Tropic Thunder" writer Etan Cohen and which tentatively has Barry Sonnenfeld coming back to direct, could shoot at least partly in New York.

One issue that still needs to be worked out: scheduling. Brolin has lately given Nicolas Cage a run for his money as the hardest-working man in show business, starring in the comic-book western "Jonah Hex" and the sequel to Oliver Stone's "Wall Street." Both of those films have wrapped, but he's signed on for a few more meaty roles that could shoot in the first part of 2010, including the Coen brothers' remake of "True Grit" and the Mafia crime drama "Cartel."

Twilight's Bryce Dallas Howard Explains Taking Over the Role Of Victoria

Twilight's Bryce Dallas Howard Explains Taking Over the Role Of Victoria

"Twilight" fans are notoriously fickle when it comes to the actors chosen to bring their favorite Stephenie Meyer character to life. In fact, it's now the stuff of "Twilight" legend that following the announcement that Robert Pattinson's would be portraying brooding vampire Edward Cullen, online petitions circled feverishly, decrying the British actor's participation in the saga. A similar uproar occurred last July, when just weeks before production was to begin on the third "Twilight" installment "Eclipse," Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachelle Lefevre as villainous vampire Victoria due to scheduling conflicts. Howard revealed that the prospect of taking over the role Lefevre originated in both "Twilight" and "New Moon" was a bit daunting.

"It was actually a really unfortunate circumstance where the actress who everyone really cared deeply about, who has done an amazing job in this role, was unavailable," Howard said, explaining her last-minute casting. "They were looking for someone to fill that slot. It was right before production actually happened, so of course there was intimidation there and feeling a huge responsibility to do my best."

James Cameron Weighs In On Terminator Salvation

James Cameron Weighs In On Terminator Salvation

Cameron sat down with MTV News-

"I have seen it, and unfortunately I saw it the wrong way, on cable at the hotel, while I was working, over three nights because I don’t have much time," Cameron said. "It’s better than I thought it was going to be."

Back-handed compliment much?

But Cameron went on to praise McG and his creative team for their efforts while also noting that the movie was missing some essential elements that made the earlier films such classics. "It's actually quite reverential to the mythos of the 'Terminator' world," he said. "I think McG and the writers tried hard to keep reacquainting you with some of those ideas in the story that they were weaving. So actually I thought it was pretty cool. I did feel that it sort of lacked Je ne sais quoi. Although I love Sam [Worthington] in it. "

No surprise there, considering Cameron has made Worthington the star of his 3-D alien love story, "Avatar" (out December 18). And with that film soon behind him, might the director turn his attention back to "Terminator," now that the rights are once again available?

"No, 'Terminator' is way in my rear-view at this point, kind of made my emotional break with it, back when I was finishing 'Titanic,' believe it or not," he said. "A very similar conversation cropped up at that time because the rights were in play at that point.... I was thinking about [a third 'Terminator' film] but I had decided emotionally to be done with it, and it just feels like last millennium stuff for me, at this point. Now it's been a TV show, and two films since, and trying to go back and reshape it like that stuff didn’t exist doesn’t make sense."

David Lynch Turned Down Return Of The Jedi. I Had No Interest

David Lynch Turned Down Return Of The Jedi. I Had No Interest

There's a bit of little-known Star Wars trivia that George Lucas once asked David Lynch to direct the third movie in the trilogy, Return of the Jedi, but I don't think we've ever heard Lynch himself describe his meeting and why he turned it down in quite this way. Until now, in the video below.

At a seminar last month at New York's Russian Tea Room, sponsored by the Hudson Union Society, the director of Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive talked about the James Bond-like arrangements he had to make to meet with Lucas, how he reacted when he saw a Wookiee for the first time and why Lucas shouldn't be driving a Ferrari.

"George is kinda short, and so ... his seat was way back, and he was almost lying down in the car, and we were flying through this little town in Northern California," Lynch said.

"I had next door to zero interest," Lynch says at one point, adding later: "I could hardly wait to get home."

As it turns out, little-known director Richard Marquand wound up directing Jedi, giving us the movie we've all grown up with.

MTV's "Jersey Shore" Losing Advertisers

MTV's "Jersey Shore" Losing Advertisers

I am an addict of reality shows and this one caught my eyes the other night. I could not believe people talk and act like this. But I didn't change the channel. I watched the entire show and want more. And so does my buddy Lil Jerry that is all he talked about at work today was this show.

And I talked to Sandwichjohn staff member Hammer who is from Jersey and he confirmed there really are people like this out in Jersey.

WOW.

The ruckus over MTV's "Jersey Shore" is getting as intense as the hot-headed dramatics on the show.

The controversial new reality series chronicling a spirited group of self-described "guidos" living in a New Jersey beach house has drawn protests of increasing volume from critics. Now it appears calls for a boycott are having an impact.

The Italian-American group UNICO (the same group that protested HBO's "The Sopranos") has asked members to complain to MTV's advertisers. In the past couple days, two advertisers on the show -- Domino's Pizza and American Family Insurance -- have pulled out of the series.

In addition, one major media outlet reported that MTV New York offices were receiving death threats due to the show (the network has denied the report).

"['Jersey Shore' furthers] the popular TV notion that Italian-Americans are gel-haired, thuggish, ignoramuses with fake tans, no manners, no diction, no taste, no education, no sexual discretion, no hairdressers (for sure), no real knowledge of Italian culture and no ambition beyond expanding steroid- and silicone-enhanced bodies," blasted NY Post critic Linda Stasi on Monday. "Would that programming ever have been allowed if the group were African-Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Jewish people?"

President of programming Tony DiSanto, an Italian-American, has remained largely mum on the subject, though he told one group, "The cast takes pride in their ethnicity. In fact, it is a key driver of how they bond with each other and self-identify. They refer to themselves as 'guidos' in a positive manner."

Instead, former "Hills" cast member Spencer Pratt, of all people, defended the network on Twitter: "Linda Stasi you should change your name to Linda Boring if you can't be entertained by young Italian-Americans enjoying youth and partying!"

The initial round of criticism didn't seem to help "Jersey Shore," which debuted last Thursday to a relatively modest 1.4 million viewers.

Idina Menzel To Join "Glee" As A Coach

Idina Menzel To Join "Glee" As A Coach

Meet Will Schuester's new rival.

Broadway star Idina Menzel is in negotiations to recur on Fox's "Glee."

Menzel, who is expected to appear in all of the remaining nine episodes of the season, will play the coach to glee club Vocal Adrenaline, the McKinley High glee club's main competition.

Menzel had said she is a big fan of "Glee" and its young star Lea Michele, also a Broadway pro.

Because of Menzel and Michele's similar musical theater background and strong resemblance, fans had been lobbying for Menzel to appear on the show as Rachel Berry's (Michele) biological mother.

They've got their wish ... sort of.

Menzel won a Tony for her role on "Wicked." Her co-star on the show, Kristin Chenoweth, guest starred on "Glee" earlier this season.

Menzel is the second Broadway name to recur on "Glee" this spring.

Jonathan Groff, who co-starred opposite Michele in the Broadway production of "Spring Awakening," will be doing a five- to six-episode story arc, playing the lead male vocalist of Vocal Adrenaline and a potential love interest for Rachel Berry.

"Glee," which chronicles the road of McKinley High's glee club, a group of misfits led by Spanish teacher Schuester (Matthew Morrison) to the national championships, wraps its fall run Wednesday with the "Sectionals" episode.

Schuester's biggest nemesis so far has been the coach of the school's cheerleading squad Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch.

Jonah Hex Film Getting Made Over By Another Director?

Jonah Hex Film Getting Made Over By Another Director?

An insider is telling Bloody Disgusting that Warner Bros. Pictures is prepping a few new weeks of shooting for their comic book adaptation of Jonah Hex, which is slated for release on June 18, 2010. While Jimmy Hayward directed the movie, we're being told that Francis Lawrence - the man behind I Am Legend and Constantine - is getting behind the camera for the reshoots. Consider this news rumor until confirmed. Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Michael Shannon all star. Hex (played by Brolin), known for having the right side of his face disfigured and wearing a Confederate army uniform, was a rough-and-tumble gunslinger and part-time bounty hunter whose adventures always ended in blood.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.

Based on the legendary graphic novel, “Jonah Hex” is an epic adventure thriller about one man’s personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

James Cameron Promises Avatar Sequel

James Cameron Promises Avatar Sequel

You've heard some of the buzz surrounding filmmaker James Cameron's upcoming 3-D sci-fi epic movie Avatar? Well, Cameron has a message for the haters: You ain't seen nothing yet.

Coming up for air after "four and a half years of intense work," Cameron insists in an exclusive interview that he "consciously made a decision not to read any article or news breaks about Oscar buzz" while he labored to finish the film and also admits that he's been "well aware" of some of the negative fan buzz surrounding the project, based on screenings of early footage and trailers.

"I know there's been a lot of talk and speculation about it, but it's kind of like the generic Oscar buzz out there—it's pretty ridiculous when people haven't even see the movie," he says, addressing the issue. "All anyone has seen is the 25 minutes of various scenes we showed at Comic-Con—and that's not the movie! How can fans judge it by that?"

The director is quick to defend Avatar, which is set on the planet Pandora and features the Na'vi—tall, blue-skinned aliens—as well as human-engineered "avatars" and plenty of high-tech futuristic toys.

"I set out to make a film that's like the stuff that played on the projection screen of my mind when I was a teenager, informed by science fiction," Cameron says. "And I wanted to do original stuff, all those creatures and landscapes and plants and animals that I'd been drawing and noodling out over some 20 years. And fans really love this kind of depth and detail, so when I began Avatar I really put a lot of energy and focus into a sense of completeness in detail of the world, for that very reason."

If fans are "disappointed" with the film's blue alien race, Cameron stresses that "I wasn't going for the alien. I wasn't going for the ugly and strange. I was going for something that's an expression of beautiful human movement in the film. They symbolize the best of us in the way the film works subconsciously, which I feel is aspirational. What they really are is a heightened sense of ourselves and what we could and should be."

And if you really like it, Cameron promises more from the universe of Avatar. It "is not true science fiction in the sense of saying, 'This is what contact with an alien species would be like.' It's not about that at all. It's about how we've lost contact with ourselves in a natural state. So if we fail, it all ends there, but if we are successful then we'll make more films, and that world will continue to flesh itself out and be a place that fans can go to."

Cameron insists that the mix of sky-high expectations and negative fan buzz isn't freaking him out. "No, it's good, as we had to sell a movie that wasn't a sequel or remake or part of a franchise or based on a best-seller," he says. "It had no brand awareness, and I was more worried about people not even knowing about the film than them kind of arguing about it or having high expectations or having those dashed."

As you might expect, the director who once called himself "the king of the world" says he's "very confident" that once "even hard-core sci-fi fans see the whole movie, they'll get it, because the film will speak for itself. If I can just get 'em in the damn theater, the film will act on them in the way it's supposed to, in terms of taking them on an amazing journey and giving them this rich emotional experience. And it's not really like any other film, and I think that's its greatest asset—and its greatest deficit. You can't compare it to something else."

Avatar opens Dec. 18. Look for more Avatar coverage soon from the press day in London.

Kate Bosworth Gets Lost And Loves Hotels

Kate Bosworth Gets Lost And Loves Hotels

"Young Victoria" director Jean-Marc Vallee has found his next project: "Lost Girls and Love Hotels."

Kate Bosworth is attached to star and is also producing with Relativity Media.

Nadia Conners wrote the screenplay, which adapts Catherine Hanrahan's 2006 novel.

The story centers on a woman (Bosworth) who tries to forget her past while working in Tokyo as an English specialist at a stewardess training institute by day and losing herself in a sex- and drug-addled oblivion by night. She finds herself on the road to redemption when she becomes interested in a missing Western girl.

The idea of a Westerner in Japan has long intrigued the creative community, though Ridley Scott's "Black Rain" and Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" are among the few screen stories so far. That might change as a convergence of projects seems to be bubbling up to the surface.

Buried in the Article was the Information about the Follow up to Taken.

Kamen, who said he and Besson have scripted a sequel to "Taken" that will get made based on star Liam Neeson's availability next year, is working with Stoff for the first time since they started out together with the intention to become writing partners.

So where does the next film take us? Maggie Grace (Kim Mills) goes on her own music tour and where she’ll be taken hostage and held for ransom. Sounds like a good starting point? What do you think?

Deadpool Film To Be Written By The Writers Of Zombieland ?

Deadpool Film To Be Written By The Writers Of Zombieland ?

The Deadpool movie has been slowly, quietly been percolating over at Fox, and recent days may have seen some important developments. While nothing is official just yet, it looks like Fox could be hiring Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Zombieland, to script the adventures of the Merc With A Mouth. I did my due diligence and asked around but couldn't get a solid confirmation, so regard this one as a strong rumor.

But if it's more than a rumor - and my source tells me there could be a trade break announcing this within days - it's actually a very good sign for Deadpool. While the character was sorely abused in X-Men Origins: Wolverine - seriously, sewing his mouth shut? It was like a personal 'fuck you' to fans of the character - bringing on the folks who wrote Zombieland points to a funny tone that better suits the character. Between Ryan Reynolds insisting that Deadpool would break the fourth wall and the fact that the studio is at least talking with the writers of Zombieland, we could actually be looking at a film from Fox that doesn't suck. Weird, huh?

Spider-Man 4 Anne Hathaway and John Malkovich To Star In Film

Spider-Man 4 Anne Hathaway and John Malkovich To Star In Film

No matter the superhero franchise, when it comes time to make a sequel, people mainly want to know one thing: Which villains will be in it? Currently, fans are trying to crack the mystery of Spider-Man 4’s bad guys; rumors and speculation had it that every actress in Hollywood was trying out for the sexy villainess Black Cat, or that Dylan Baker’s Curt Connors would finally get to transform into the Lizard in this installment. Now, though, Movieline has confirmed with sources close to the film that Raimi’s sequel is circling John Malkovich and Anne Hathaway to play Spider-Man’s adversaries, and neither evildoer is quite what you might have expected.

If negotiations proceed according to plan, Malkovich will be playing Spider-Man’s nemesis the Vulture, who packs a punch despite his advanced age. The Vulture is able to fly through the air and brandish his sharp wings to attack Spider-Man.

As for Hathaway, that’s where things get tricky.

The 27-year-old actress is currently the top choice for Felicia Hardy, who’d been long-rumored as one of the new characters in this installment. (Other names bandied about for the role included Julia Stiles, Rachel McAdams, and Romola Garai.) However, unlike in the comic books, this Felicia Hardy doesn’t transform into the Black Cat. Instead, Raimi’s Felicia will become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess.

What does this mean for poor Dylan Baker, who’s patiently played Curt Connors in the last two installments? As much as it would seem that the series is setting up his eventual transformation into supervillain the Lizard, we hear that the suits simply can’t bring themselves to sign off on such an odd-looking enemy — instead, they’d rather hew closer to villains with a human face. Perhaps, then, it’s the best-case scenario for Baker: He gets to remain the subject of fanboy interest, but he doesn’t have to cede his role to a motion-captured reptile in a lab coat.

"Resident Evil" Afterlife Pushed Back Till 2011? Not Quite

"Resident Evil" Afterlife Pushed Back Till 2011? Not Quite

UPDATE: Actress Milla Jovovich provided an update via Twitter that states: "RE Afterlife IS NOT officially pushed. There have been talks of pushing it as they [are] not sure they can have it ready by July. We [are] trying as hard as we can to still meet the summer deadline though, so for the moment its still on for August." However, we're still hearing a release push is going to happen, but hopefully Jovovich is right.

Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich have been working hard on the fourth installment of the "Resident Evil" franchise a.k.a. Resident Evil: Afterlife, planned as the first movie in the series filmed using 3D technology. It looks like it's going to take a little more time to make that movie then they had planned, because ShockTillYouDrop.com has learned that Screen Gems has pushed the movie back until January 14, 2011.

Originally, the movie was to be released on August 27, 2010, but everyone involved probably realized it would take a lot longer for the post-production 3D processing work, so they've given Anderson a few more months to finish the movie and have moved the manga-based vampire thriller Priest, starring Paul Bettany, up to fill that open Aug. 27 slot.

Johnny Depp To Star As A Vampire In Dark Shadows With The Help Of Tim Burton

Johnny Depp To Star As A Vampire In Dark Shadows With The Help Of Tim Burton

Forget Team Edward and Team Jacob. We've heard that director Tim Burton and star Johnny Depp are making a feature film version of the classic 1960s gothic TV soap opera Dark Shadows, and producer Graham King now confirms that the film will shoot in the fall, with Depp to play broody vampire Barnabas Collins.

"We're actually going to shoot that film next September/October with Tim Burton and Johnny," King said in a group interview Friday in Los Angeles, where he was promoting The Young Victoria.

Burton is still finishing post-production on Alice in Wonderland, which also stars Depp and opens March 5, 2010. King is already prepping production on Dark Shadows with screenwriters so that it is ready for Burton to shoot next fall.

"We've been working on the script a lot, even though he's working on Alice," King continued. "We've been given a script. John August wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production, as I say, September or October of next year."

Dark Shadows was a daytime soap opera on ABC from 1966 to 1971 featuring Jonathan Frid as Collins. NBC tried a weekly prime-time series reboot in 1991. The original was famous for its gothic tone and setting.

King said the Dark Shadows film would have something to say in the post-Twilight world of emo vampires, but wouldn't spoil the new take. "This is going to be Tim Burton and Johnny doing a vampire movie, right?" King teased. Enough said.

The Hobbit Rumors Cleared Up

The Hobbit Rumors Cleared Up

Since producer Peter Jackson announced that he would make two films from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, we've wondered whether he'll split the book in two or make the book the basis of the first movie and use the second to bridge The Hobbit with The Lord of the Rings.

Well, he cleared it up for us over the weekend: The two movies will be based solely on the book, even though the films' director, Guillermo del Toro, had suggested the latter approach.

"The second Hobbit script is still based on the Hobbit novel," Jackson said in a group interview Sunday in Beverly Hills, Calif., after a press conference for The Lovely Bones. "The Hobbit novel is in two parts."

The Hobbit tells the story of a young Bilbo Baggins' quest for a treasure guarded by the dragon Smaug. In the more youth-oriented adventure, Tolkien established the world of Middle-earth, where he later set his Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Whereas each of the Lord of the Rings films was based on a separate book, screenwriters Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens (with del Toro) have found a middle point where they could end The Hobbit: Part 1 and begin The Hobbit: Part 2.

"Yeah, yeah, we have, but you'll have to wait and see the film to find out," Jackson teased.

The first Hobbit movie is due in theaters in 2011, with part two following in 2012.

Comic Book "The Hunter" Head To A Theater Near You Soon

Scarlet Fire Entertainment is set to produce a film adaptation of Brit scribe Adam Hamdy's comic, "The Hunter." Hamdy will adapt the screenplay.

The 2007 Dare Comics debut release is a contemporary superhero comic set against the backdrop of organized crime. Through print and online distribution, "Hunter" has reached 130,000 readers.

Hamdy will produce along with Scarlet Fire's Steven Pearl and Allan Loeb, the co-writer of "21" and "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps." Scarlet Fire exec Shane Abrahams first brought the comic to the company.

"We're extremely pleased to be working with Scarlet Fire," said Hamdy, who founded Dare Comics. "They understood 'The Hunter' immediately, and saw in it the potential to create a compelling new universe that loyal fans and newcomers alike will love seeing come to life on the big screen."

Hamdy will create an original Hunter story for the film iteration.

"Not only is Adam an accomplished writer, he is an innovative entrepreneur," said Steven Pearl. "He's succeeded in building a new superhero brand virtually single-handed in a market that is dominated by big companies with very deep pockets."

Charlie Hunnam Script To Be Produced By Brad Pitt

Charlie Hunnam Script To Be Produced By Brad Pitt

After exploring the romantic angst of vampires in "Twilight," Summit is developing an action-oriented take on the most famous of the fanged: Dracula.

This one already comes with its own heartthrob in the form of Brad Pitt.

The company has picked up "Vlad," a script by actor Charlie Hunnam ( Sons of Anarchy) and is in negotiations with music video and photographer Anthony Mandler to direct the project. Pitt is producing, not acting, with Dede Gardner via the duo's Plan B Entertainment production shingle.

"Vlad" centers on Dracula as a young prince; he is known to history as Vlad the Impaler, the man behind the Dracula myth.

Summit picked up "Vlad" awhile ago, developing it quietly, but when execs saw Mandler's reel, the project got a shot in the arm.

With "Vlad," Summit hopes to make a visually edgy and radical period movie that also will break a new talent.

McG To Make Another Terminator Movie

McG To Make Another Terminator Movie

The Halcyon Company is putting the Terminator Franchise up for sale and a buyer should be announced in February on next year.

And McG really thinks they are going to let him Direct the next film, even if one gets made.

Terminator-Salvation was that bad on a film, if they only stuck with the original ending.

McG recently did a Blu-Ray Live commentary So what was the recation to what McG was saying?

He just announced that he’s making another Terminator movie. Seriously.

Oh and for those people who are punching themselves in the face that he’s making another one?
He said he’s making one after that.

And now McG is being coy about making another one? I don’t get it.

And now he’s talking about a second or third movie again.

He says Sarah Connor is going to be in the next film, but he’s not sure how he’s going to pull that off.

Holy shit.
He just said he thought he could make a better movie than #1 or #2.

In answering a question about if Robert Patrick (T-1000) would be in a future movie.
McG said that he might be, if there was a scientist that wanted to model a Terminator after himself. (Yes, he took that base idea from Terminator 3, in case you were wondering.)
