The Russo Bros. Will Deliver "The Warriors" Series To Hulu

Deadline is reporting Joe and Anthony Russo are taking a breather from the Marvel world to adapt cult-classic film The Warrior s as a one-hour drama with Paramount TV and Hulu. The brothers will reimagine Walter Hill’s iconic 1979 film, itself an adaptation of Sol Yurick’s classic novel. Their take will honor the original film while adding its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence. The Russo brothers will team with writer Frank Baldwin on the series. The Russo brothers will direct the pilot, although no word yet as to any directing commitment beyond that. The film was set in 1979, at a time when parts of New York still resembled war-torn Mogadishu, torn apart by rivalry between deadly gangs. A charismatic leader summons these street gangs of New York City in a bid to take it over. When he is shot and killed during the rally, one of the gangs, the Warriors, is falsely blamed for his death and its member must fight their way home while every other gang is hunting them down

Charlize Theron To Star In The Gray Man

According to Deadline Sony Pictures is in talks with Charlize Theron to come aboard The Gray Man , an adaptation of the Mark Greaney novel that at one time had Brad Pitt ready to star with James Gray directing.   Theron is in the process of attaching herself as the star, with her Denver and Delilah label coming aboard as producers alongside Joe Roth. The script is by Joe and Anthony Russo, who were at one time attached as directors before they got busy with Captain America: Civil War and the next two installments of The Avengers . The thriller focuses on an expert CIA op-turned-assassin who is forced to evade adversaries as he saves the lives of daughters he didn’t know he had. Obviously that is harder to do when the protagonist is female, but I guess they’ll figure it out. Sony famously changed the gender of another spy thriller, Salt, which was tailored for Angelina Jolie after Tom Cruise bowed out of the lead role. It doesn’t happen that often and puts Theron in rare terri

The Russo Brothers are set to direct the follow-ups to The Avengers . Story by Matt Cummings It's not easy these days to suddenly find yourself at the top of the world, especially if you're relatively new and your resume isn't filled with tons of experience. That's the situation which brothers Anthony and Joe Russo - creators of Captain America: The Winter Soldier - have found themselves, as the two took a niche career as veteran television guys and turned it in to box office gold. With Winter Soldier holding on to the top film spot until Guardians of the Galaxy ended that run in September, it was clear that Marvel president Kevin Feige had found his men. Now, that success is being rewarded in two important ways. First, we've learned that after they finish directing Captain America: Civil War , they will begin developing the two sequels for Avengers: Age of Ultron (which premieres on May 1, 2015) titled Avengers: Infinity War . But that's not
