Movie Review: The Snowman

New Images Of Foxx's Electro From The Amazing Spider-Man 2

In the new issue of Empire (out on Tuesday, December 31), as we preview the 25 biggest films to watch out for in 2014. One of those is The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the magazine holds an in-depth look at the villain of the piece, Jamie Foxx's Max Dillon.

Here, to give you just a taste of what's inside, are two new images of Electro - but if you are spoiler-averse, one of these images shows a recognisable silhouette standing in front of Electro, so tread carefully and don't look too closely.

The second Spider-film, of course, sees Andrew Garfield's friendly neighbourhood Spidey come up against a range of baddies, just as he's beginning to settle in and enjoy his super-powered life and super-hot girlfriend Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). The new ne'er-do-wells include Paul Giamatti's Rhino, Foxx's Electro and Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborne (and, it seems from the trailer, Green Goblin).

Oh Yeah! The Raid 2: Berandal Trailer & New Images Are Here

Here is a brand new Indonesian trailer for The Raid 2: Berandal. It seems as if, surely, it must be telling us too much, but Evans promises "only spoilers for the first act set-up".

The Raid 2: Berandal picks up the story two hours after The Raid (Evans says "The [potential] Raid 3 would take place two hours before The Raid 2 ends"...), and sweeps Rama (Iko Uwais) into a much broader world of corruption and violence as he infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate. As you'll just have seen, it looks even more gloriously violent than its predecessor, if that's possible. But it's odd how balletic it all looks when devoid of its crunchy sound effects. Can you have serene arm-breaking? We feel like we just saw one.

Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad, Yayan Ruhian, Mathias Muchus, Tio Pakusadewo, Marsha Timothy, Cecep Arif Rahman, Matsuda Ryuhei, Endo Kenichi and Kitamura Kazuki are all part of the cast for this one. Evans has previously promised 17 ac…

Win Tickets To An Advance For Screening For LONE SURVIVOR on Tuesday, January 7 @ 7:00PM in San Francisco.

LONE SURVIVOR is a 2013 American war film written and directed by Peter Berg, and starring Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, and Eric Bana. It is based on the 2007 nonfiction book of the same name by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson. The film depicts events of the failed United States Navy SEALs mission Operation Red Wings during the War in Afghanistan, in which four SEAL teammates were tasked to capture or kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah.

Berg first learned of the book in 2007 while filming Hancock, and he later pursued the film rights by meeting with Luttrell to discuss a film adaptation. After bidding against Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks, Universal Studios won the film rights in August 2007, with Berg attached as writer and director. Berg however could not get support or funding for the project until after filming Battl…

New Images From Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Sequels are often darker than their predecessors, but Captain America is taking that literally in The Winter Soldier, swapping his star-spangled uniform for a darker grey suit. Perhaps it's no wonder that he's feeling gloomy, with his old pal Bucky transformed into the titular Winter Soldier and the odds stacked against him. Here are some exclusive new pictures from the film that appear in the new February issue of Empire magazine (out Tuesday, December 31).

So there you get a look at Captain America's new duds; Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow running full tilt for, er, important reasons; Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier holding Cap's shield (clutch your pearls in horror now, everyone!) and Robert Redford's Alexander Pierce laying down the law (it seems) to S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

Top 10 Movies Of 2013. We Promise Lots Of Controversial Choices!

Top 10 Movies of 2013 By: MattInRC
Maybe it's just us, but 2013 was a bit of a letdown for films - perhaps 2012 was so boss that almost any year would be considered dull (The Avengers, Lincoln, Ted, Argo, and Skyfall just to name a few). But, there were several that graced our local rat-infested screens that did keep us awake through other duds like Grudge Match, Identity Thief, and Admission. As always, our list is generated on factors such as memorability, quality, and a completely selfish desire of whether we would pay to buy it or care to watch it again. Many Oscar films might win awards for their technical mastery, but how many of them would you actually watch more than once? Therefore, allow the chastising to commence!
