BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Marvel's The Runaways Have Been Cast

Let's face it, when it comes to Marvel, Hulu, like everyone else, has Netflix envy, and they're attempting to prove their prowess by mounting an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's Runaways . Allusions aside, and more to the point, the pilot has found its cast. The Runaways is forcused on six teenagers who learn that each of their parents are a part of The Pride, a supervillain cabal. This discovery sends them on the run and results in their forming a family unit of their own at the same time they're discovering themselves as people. The character is described as a proud nerd and a fan of video games, who at his core wants nothing more than to meet up with the group of friends he grew up with. Marvel's Runaways' Headed to Hulu

Marvel Television will be bringing the fan-favorite and ground breaking comic book series, RUNAWAYS , to popular streaming service, Hulu. Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? "Marvel's Runaways" is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe--their parents. "We've known the Runaways' story would make great television," said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, "and being lucky enough to have Josh and Stephanie--who have time and again created shows that speak so genuinely to this exact audience--write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable." "I'm a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn't be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian’s characters to life," said Schwartz. Adds Savage, "Josh and I can't wait to get to work for Marvel and Hulu." First, Fox taps James McAvoy to play the young Professor Xavier in the Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men: First Class. Now, Marvel Studios has picked a writer to draft Runaways , the live action film based on the cult favorite comic book (created by Lost writer Brian K. Vaughan ) about the children of supervillains who try to use their evil powers for heroic purposes. The job has gone to Drew Pearce . Considering the number of scribes who wanted the job, Pearce is a relative unknown but seems a good match for the subject matter when you consider his previous superhero work. Pearce is a British writer who created No Heroics, a humorous UK television series about a bar that's a hangout for superheros, who aren't allowed to use their powers while knocking back pints. Pearce will draft Runaways for Pete Sollett, the Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist director who was set in
