Ralph Breaks the Internet (Wreck It Ralph 2) Movie Review 'Sweet & delightful sequel'

Movie Review: Unfriended: Dark Web 'Predictable and generic'

Unfriended: Dark Web is the new installment in this franchise that is put out by Blumhouse Studios. Now the first Unfriended had me intrigued i’m a sucker for found footage films and the fact that it only takes place on a computer screen is intriguing to me. It’s something that we rarely see in film and the first one had some good concepts, but the ending kinda ruined it for me and just fell once again into a generic horror thriller type of film.

Now with this one they get rid of the paranormal stuff and move on right ahead to the Dark Web which if you don’t know what the Dark Web is… GOOD. It’s a scary place on the internet. So with this new issue in this film and dealing with the internet and these young adults having to deal with this issue as well it had me intrigued once again. The first half of this film had me so on board where I couldn’t wait to see where it went, but once a certain event occurs by the third act it just goes all way downhill from there. The film and its premis…

Movie Review: EIGHTH GRADE 'One of the best films this year'

Eighth Grade is written and directed by Bo Burnham, the one of a kind VINE star and also Stand up Comedian who decided to take his chance with his first directorial effort and written effort for a film, which might I add paid off in so many ways. Eighth Grade is a coming of age film about a young girl name Kayla (Elsie Fisher) who is in her last week of the hell hole I like to call Eighth Grade. She trying to survive and make it on her way to high school. Now from the premise this sounds like another indie coming of age film something like Lady Bird last year or Edge of 17 from the year before.

All of which were fantastic, but This film is special and very different in the best of ways. This is not only one of the best films of the year, but one of the most relatable coming of age films I’ve ever seen. Burnham somehow found a way in his directing and writing to take me back to Eighth Grade and remember memories that I buried away. (for good reason) But took me right back to my 8th gra…

MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN Review 'Lily James can have my heart she was great'

MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN is back with all the original cast and of course newcomers. Directed by Ol Parker this film tells the story of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) who is just about to open a brand new hotel while at the same time dealing with some family issues. With the story flashing back to a younger version of Streep’s Character from the first one played by Lily James , who might I say was perfect casting.

These flashbacks tells how she met all the three great dads who once again get younger versions of themselves. (which are all spot on great performances) Now full disclosure I am not the biggest fan of musicals and even the first Mamma Mia film, I find it to be fun and enjoyable with some awesome and memorable music, but nothing that has made me fall in love and become a Mamma Mia fanatic like my sister, who loved this sequel and thinks its right up there with the original.

For me though I found the film to lack and felt like two stories and scripts were pushed together. With…

Movie Review: Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot 'Jonah Hill best performance of his career'

Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) brings us Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot a Dramedy that tells the life of John Callahan and the rocky path to sobriety after a life changing accident. John Callahan is played by Joaquin Phoenix who once again transforms into a role and leaves the audience not seeing the actor but the actual person he is portraying. Rooney Mara and Jack Black also show up in the film for more of a glorified cameo per say. That doesn’t mean they don’t bring their A game. Mara turns in a wonderful performance that engrosses us into her sweet character, and Jack Black leaves me wondering when he will tackle more dramatic material, he is fantastic in one scene towards the end of the film.

The big scene stealer for the whole entire film though that warrants any film buff into seeing this movie though has to be Jonah Hill, the guy not only steals the movie from the great Phoenix, but hands down gives the best performance of his career. This guy can only go up from here…
