Exclusive Interview With Jason Momoa From Upcoming Conan Film

We were unable to attend the Movies On Demand One On One with Conan's Jason Momoa so who better to ask to attend for us than our good buddy Randy from thearnoldfans.

Although the Lionsgate film "Conan" does not come out until next month, I was given early access to interview two lead actors of the film at Comic Con in the press room at the Hard Rock Hotel. Although many of us believe this will not be as good as the epic Schwarzenegger version, I am optimistic that this will still be a fun film and I wish the barbaric actor of Game of Thrones and Conan, Jason Momoa, big success as an actor. On the other hand, I am very disappointed that Momoa does not know "WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE." That's right, it turns out he has never watched the original Arnold film.

"I haven't seen the original movie and a lot of people are kind of upset with me for that but the fact is MY Conan is more of the Frank Frazetta paintings. When I saw those pictures of him, I wanted to be that."

Say WHAT? Momoa who has not spoken with Arnold about playing Conan, believes the CG and 3D effects of today's times will surely enhance the audience's enjoyment.

"It's time to do another Conan. I haven't seen it but I know there are so many stories. He's really a different character. He's not a superhero, he's a man you really want to follow. He's a pirate, he's a thief, he's really quite complicated and to add that to all the technology: the sparkle, the glitter and the way Marcus (the director) is... the way he composes his scenes, and compositions... and add 3D and it's really a part of something glorious and I'm happy to be a part of it."

Throught the interview, Jason was very enthusiastic and was obviously thrilled to be in a room promoting his first big budget film. The female reporters next to me were obviously in love and aside from not having massive Arnold-defined Conan muscles, his look still fits the comic book character well. No one can ever fill Schwarzenegger's shoes and perhaps Jason knows this, which is why he may be perfectly cast as a good runner up. But we shall see come August 19th. The Conan star took a photo with this reporter. Perhaps next time I can remember to unzoom.

“I live. I love. I slay…I am content.”

- Conan The Barbarian

The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Deftly adapted from the original works of Robert E. Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character, CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman. The film is directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer and Sean Hood.

Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Film On The Way

Given how many of Marvel’s characters are already up on screen, and how many more are in development, you might imagine that there are very few left kicking their heels in the waiting room, eyeing the complimentary water bottles and out-of-date lifestyle magazines and wondering when their chance at the big screen might come. Well, the Marvel Universe is a big place, so we imagine the room to be about the size of 10 hangers. But now one group of heroes might finally be seeing their number flash on the LED board – as according to Twitch, the company is now pushing ahead with plans for a movie based on Guardians of the Galaxy.

Chances are that unless you’re a Marvel diehard, you may never have heard of the characters, and that’s because the team is now looking to tap some of the lesser-known properties for franchise potential.

Originally appearing in Marvel Super-Heroes in 1969, they’re a team assembled from various different species and planets in the 31st century with the aim of fighting off the evil Badoon, a race attempting to conquer the solar system. They’ve fought several other foes since then and were even re-launched in 2008 for a more modern incarnation.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige has already talked up the possibility of a Guardians film, but now it would seem they will be flung into the howling maw of development…

Yesterday Warner Bros. released the first image of Henry Cavill As Superman, and today they  released the first image of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. JustJared as got their hands on some spy photos of Hathaway's stunt double shooting a scene from the movie.

I didn't know that Trinity from the Matrix had a twin sister? Not that I am complaining.

As a blogger I really wish sometimes they would not release photos from upcoming films. Where is the surprise when you go watch the movie?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Release Date Is Set

Executives at Columbia Pictures think they have a winner with their new web-spinner.

The Amazing Spider-Man” doesn’t reach theaters until July 3, 2012, but the studio has already locked in a May 2, 2014, release date for a sequel.

A Columbia Pictures spokesman said the scheduling move “speaks volumes” about the superhero relaunch with director Marc Webb and star Andrew Garfield, who are coming off of a winning appearance at Comic-Con International.

There was considerable fan skepticism early on about the choice of Webb, who has directed only one feature film — the 2009 romantic comedy ”(500) Days of Summer” – and arrived on this project in the long shadow of Sam Raimi, whose three “Spider-Man” films earned close to $3.5 billion in worldwide box office and keyed billions more in home video, toys, licensing and video games.

“The Amazing Spider-Man,” now in post-production, takes the Marvel Comics icon back to his high school years and makes him more of an outsider soul than the Peter Parker played by Toby Maguire. The film also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

Henry Cavill As Superman. First Official Picture From The Man Of Steel

It won't hit screens until 2013, but here's your first sneak peek at Henry Cavill as the Man Of Steel, in Zack Snyder's new take on Superman. It's immediately apparent that the primary colors of the costume have been slightly toned down, and that this is one Kryptonian not afraid of getting his hands dirty. But some things don't change; he's clearly still capable of crumpling a bank vault up like a normal man crumples unwanted sheets of paper.

The film also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as the Kent parents, Julia Ormond and Russell Crowe as his Kryptonian parents, Michael Shannon as fellow Kryptonian General Zod and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet. Harry Lennix, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni also star.

Christopher Nolan is producing, as well as having worked on the story with David S. Goyer, who then wrote the script. We can expect to see the finished piece on or around June 14, 2013 - so expect a steady trickle of news from now until then.

Cowboy & Aliens Movie Review By: CubicleMike

Cowboy & Aliens Movie Review
By: CubicleMike

I want to welcome CubicleMike to the mix over here at SandwichJohnFilms. The Cube will be doing reviews from time to time for the site.  Here's his first review for the site and let me tell you there are SPOILERS! You have been Warned!

The title holds so much promise; “Cowboys and Aliens”. Who in their right mind, if you are male, didn’t play Cowboys and Indians when they were a kid or imagined stopping an invading hoard of aliens? Let me start by saying the main character (Jake Lonergan) in this film was supposed to be played by Robert Downey Jr.; but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, I guess we will never know what may have been.

The film starts out panning across what seems like the Arizona or New Mexico wilderness where our hero has been dumped or fell to exhaustion. Amnesiac Daniel Craig (Jake Lonergan) wakes up with no shoes, blood on his shirt with no food, water or even a horse. I think Daniel Craig’s best movie is Layer Cake, if you have not seen go out and rent it. But he does notice a metal bracelet on his arm that it very unusual and a picture of woman. Like any other oaky form spagokie he tries to get it off by hammering it with rock, surprise surprise it doesn’t work and he notices three fine upstanding gentlemen approaching on horse back with scalps of Native Americans on their saddles. Of course they assume they can make a few bucks off of Jake, but they seem to forget Bond is just as deadly without a gun as with. Of course Daniel Craig disarms them and kills them, now he has decent clothes, shoes, a horse, a gun and even a dog that has changed allegiances.

He mozzies to the nearest town where he breaks into a church without permission and I thought God’s house was always open to everybody. There he meets the preacher played by Clancy Brown, we all remember him from the movie Highlander where he played Kurgan . I still remember his famous line; “It’s better to burn out then to fade away”. The next scene introduces the spoiled rich kid Percy Dolahyde played by Paul Dano, who you may remember as the preacher from There Will Be Blood that was bludgeoned to death by Daniel-Day Lewis. In his drunken overindulged stupor he shoots a deputy and insults Lonergan who amply knees him in the nards. Well apparently Daniel Craig has one of those faces that is recognizable from a mile away because the Sheriff notices that amnesiac hero is actually an outlaw with a $1,000 bounty. Lonergan does the only thing for relaxation a cowboy can do in those days, come on people get your mind out of the gutter, and he goes to the local saloon and drinks.

The saloon is owned by the tender-foot doctor played by Sam Rockwell. There Lonergan meets the damsel of the film played by Olivia Wilde and I can’t get over the fact that she has perfect teeth, unbelievable skin and waxed eyebrows; I guess they had great dentist, dermatologist and small Asian ladies with their own hair saloons in the Wild West. Of course in proper heroic fashion Lonergan confronts the law and easily disarms the four men there to take him in, but to his surprise Ella Swenson (Olivia Wilde) gets the drop on him and renders him unconscious. Jake winds up in the same jail as Percy who wakes our hero by spitting on him. By this time Percy’s father the crotchety Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) hears about his son’s incarceration and well as just old men get irregular without their prune juice, I got that same sense from the Colonel and to make things worse Lonergan robbed the Colonel. I would hate to be that outhouse when the Colonel finally has to go. Lonergan and Percy are chained together on a coach and here comes the Colonel demanding the release of his boy and he wants to take custody of Jake.

Well all best plans are gone to waste when bright lights come down from the heavens and its not fireworks. The aliens attack the town scattering everybody in pandemonium until Jake realizes the bracelet on his arm is a weapon and he shoots down one of those fandangle contraptions. Many of the town’s people are abducted, including Percy, the doc’s wife, the sheriff and many others. Get the lynching rope out and get together the good ode boys because time to form a posse and get the good folks of the god fearing town back. And if you haven’t figured out by now from his name, Lonergan, Jake wants know part of it. He sets off on his way followed by the mysterious and beautiful Ella (Olivia Wilde); he bushwhacks her and wants to know why she is following him. Ella explains that her people were also taken and he is the only one that can help find them and the others. Jake refuses as usual and rides off until he happens onto a broken farm house where he gets back some of his memory of the lady in the picture he has. He joins the posse lead by the hemorrhoid ridden Colonel.

While on this expedition the posse runs across Jake’s old gang, whom promptly try to get rid of their old leader since he left loot from their last job to live a peaceful life with the woman in the picture, who turns out to be a whore. Well in extraordinary fashion Jake and the posse escape only to be chased by the outlaw gang and then the alien force. During this skirmish Ella is taken and Jake has to rescue her from the flying machine that looks like a large metallic dragonfly. Well, Ella is fatally wounded and as Jake makes his way back to the posse all them are taken by the Comanche. Jake exhausted watches the natives burn Ella’s body only to have her resurrected like Lazarus and come back to life. She’s not human; she is an alien but not the kind that are abducting the humans. Ella explains that her people were also victims of the alien hoard and now she is here to help the humans get their people back and destroy the bad aliens who evidently are after the same thing any red blooded American was at that time, gold! Now joined by the Indians the posse surrounds the alien base but realize they aren’t enough of them to win. Jake in his loner mode rides off leaving the posse to think he has abandoned them; little do they know he went back to recruit his outlaw gang. I know completely out of left-field!!

Now with the scourge of the west on their side, Jake, the posse, the Comanches are ready to handle the aliens. Jake takes Ella through the same passage he escaped through back into the alien ship while the others are left outside to deal with aliens. Now the aliens look like mole people with sharper teeth and Kuato hands that come out from the alien’s abdomen. In usual double Oh-seven fashion Daniel Craig kicks ass and rescues the town’s people, but Ella has a plan to destroy the whole alien ship but she needs Jake’s new weapon. Just like a freshman who will do anything to see his first naked female breast; Jake relinquishes his weapon and left with his six-shooter to shoot his way out. Stupid move, because he runs into the alien that disintegrated the woman in the picture and while escaping Jake had left a scar on the alien’s face. Jake is thrown around like a rag-doll, but at that time the Colonel notices Jake is not with the town’s people escaping from the alien ship and in Hollywood grand fashion goes in after him. The Colonel is just in time to shoot the alien, but with their tough and rough skin the alien doesn’t die form his shot and by then Jake grabs his riffle and blows the alien’s brains out. By now Ella reaches the energy core of the alien’s ship and detonates the weapon and the whole place is coming down around Jake and the Colonel. The two rush out and barely make it out as the ship is ‘blowd’ up real good.

I give this movie a crunchy peanut butter and jelly sandwich with not enough peanut butter, too sweet and needing a little roughness and saltiness. Overall it was a good film to escape form reality and get away. I leave you with this, remember as Neo discovered ‘there is no spoon’, but there is box the defined by four lightly padded walls. Once leaving you wanting more.

News About Maverick Surf Contest And Film

Deadline is reporting that Gerard Butler has been set to star in Mavericks, the Curtis Hanson-directed fact-based drama for Walden Media. The film is based on the true story of Santa Cruz surf phenom Jay Moriarity and his quest to ride the treacherous Northern California breaks known as Mavericks, where winter swells create waves the size of five-story buildings. Butler will play Rick "Frosty" Hesson, the mentor who trained Moriarity for over a year and forged a close relationship with the surfer in the process. Though Moriarity survived those impossible waves, he died at 22 in a diving accident. But he remains an inspiration to surfers, who coined the phrase "Live like Jay."

On a side note about  the Maverick Surf Contest we got this press release today. Looks like  FORMER MAVERICKS SURF CONTEST ORGANIZER LOSES LEGAL BATTLE MAVERICKS SURF VENTRUES ORDERED BY JUDGE TO PAY

With the winter big wave surf season on the horizon, a San Francisco Superior Court judge has put an end to the legal dispute between Mavericks Surf Ventures, Inc. (MSV) and Mavericks surf pioneer Jeff Clark, holding that MSV breached its contract with Clark to pay amounts owed to him as a result of their wrongful ouster of Clark, self-dealing and failure to honor their original agreements.

Clark filed a lawsuit in January 2010 against Mavericks Surf Ventures Inc. (MSV), the company he co-founded to run the Mavericks Surf Contest, and its directors Keir Beadling and Mark Dwight. The complaint, filed with the Superior Court of San Francisco County, stated that MSV breached its contracts with Clark, withheld payments on those contracts, and breached its fiduciary duties to shareholders by the Board’s self-dealing, squandering of corporate assets and failure to disclose basic financial and other corporate information.

Both sides reached a mediation agreement in March 2010, requiring MSV to compensate Clark over time through 2017. MSV failed to honor that agreement, forcing Clark to file another lawsuit against MSV and leading to Clark’s motion for summary judgment. The order was signed by Superior Court Judge Peter Busch in San Francisco, stating that the court was presented “uncontroverted evidence that the parties had entered into a valid and enforceable contract” and that MSV failed to honor that contract.

Clark is credited with pioneering Mavericks, the big wave surf spot off the California coast, at the age of 17. Clark surfed Mavericks alone for 15 years before it became recognized by the surf community as one of the biggest and most dangerous big waves in the world. In 1998, Clark founded the Mavericks Surf Contest in Half Moon Bay, Calif. Clark partnered with Evolve Sports in 2003 to represent him as an athlete, and later they created Mavericks Surf Ventures to run the Mavericks Surf Contest. MSV terminated Clark as Contest Director in June 2009. Clark immediately resigned from the Board.

Clark has remained quiet on the details of the controversial ousting, but has stated that the two parties had “different visions and goals” for the contest.

“When I signed on to partner with Keir and Evolve Sports, I trusted them to do the right thing, to honor my spirit and passion for surfing,” Clark said in a statement in 2010. “I made a mistake and I trusted the wrong people. They refused to honor the contracts they created and turned the contest into a circus.”

New Series to be Paired with Season Five of “Ghost Adventures,” Featuring Travails of the Popular Paranormal Investigative Team as They Explore Haunted Locations Around the World

Travel Channel will take viewers on a paranormal journey on Friday nights beginning September 23 with the launch of “The Dead Files,” an original investigative series premiering at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The new one-hour series pairs a hard-nosed detective, who looks at the physical evidence, with a gifted psychic communicator, who has her well established sixth sense to work with. They explore each crime scene on their own, and only join together at the end to compare notes and together discover some shocking results. “The Dead Files” will be paired with the fifth season of the hit show “Ghost Adventures”, premiering at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT as the popular investigative team discovers locations that are ample with dark history, brimming with trapped souls and energy.

“Our Friday night series takes viewers beyond the haunted destinations -- They provide a different type of escape, providing a taste of the other side and a new perspective on their own surroundings,” said Fred Graver, SVP, Programming & Development, Travel Channel.

Premiering at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, “The Dead Files” introduces heroes who are both incredibly gifted in their fields of expertise, and see what no one else can. The team approaches every case from their two specific areas of expertise: Steve DiSchiavi is a retired Homicide Detective with the New York City Police Department with more than 21 years of active service; and Amy Allan is a Psychic Communicator. Each investigator’s methods and findings remain hidden from the other team member to preserve the integrity of their discoveries, until the shocking results are revealed to the homeowner in the compelling conclusion of each episode. While much of Steve’s factual findings have already been disclosed to the audience during his investigation, the most shocking information is saved for last. During this moment of truth, Steve and Amy come together with the homeowner to present all of their findings, which gel into one undeniable – and often terrifying – conclusion.

During this one-hour, eight-episode series, Steve begins each investigation exploring the property, questioning the owners or tenants about what they’ve witnessed and what they know about the building’s past. Then he goes out to gather more facts -- speaking to local historians, police investigators and even tracking down past owners of the property. Amy is a paranormal researcher, physical medium and psychometrist. Her abilities have been studied and tested by leading parapsychologists and she’s worked with many private investigators and police agencies. Amy knows absolutely nothing about locations before entering, after all photos or revealing objects have been removed. Amy channels the dead, often assuming their role and reliving their death. She later shares her findings with the homeowners and provides them with a better understanding of what – or who – is sharing their house.

“The Dead Files” is produced by Painless Productions for the Travel Channel. For Painless
the executive producer is Jim Casey and the co-executive producers are John C. Fitzgerald and Ross Kaiman. The executive producer for the Travel Channel is David E. Gerber.

Season five of “Ghost Adventures” returns with paranormal investigators Zak Bagans and Nick Groff, along with equipment technician Aaron Goodwin as they unveil the history and dark secrets of haunted locations around the world. This season takes a deeper dive into the culture and history of these spooky locations before the overnight ghost investigation occurs, visiting never before investigated locations including the Mizpah Hotel in Tenopah, Nev. and the Ashmore Estates in Ashmore, Ill. After completing over a hundred investigations and 64 episodes of the series, the trio takes their acquired ghost tracking skills to the next level -- uncovering even more gripping scientific evidence -- as they become more skilled at taunting and using equipment to engage the other side.

During the premiere episode, the guys head to the rural Midwest to clash with the demonic forces at the Ashmore Estates. In 1870, the Ashmore Estates was a poor house, filled with social outcasts. After almost a century of countless deaths, the estates were then modified to be a psychiatric hospital in 1959. Some of the worst patients from another psych ward were sent here to continue their tortured existence. In 1986, Ashmore closed for good, and ever since, it’s been plagued with a demonic presence. While there, the trio hopes to discover these evil entities in order to learn more about their malicious ways.

“Ghost Adventures” is produced by MY Tupelo Entertainment for the Travel Channel. For MY Tupelo Entertainment the executive producers are Michael Yudin and Joe Townley. The executive producer for the Travel Channel is Daniel A. Schwartz.

Green Lantern 2 To Be Darker & More Action

Green Lantern may have a future on the big screen, but likely not with the same director.

Despite the big-budget superhero movie’s disappointing box office performance so far, Warner Bros. executives still want to find a way to make a sequel work. Bringing superheroes from its DC Comics unit to the big screen is a top priority for the studio, and executives believe that the problem with “Green Lantern” was in execution, not concept. They even have ideas on how to turn things around next time.

“We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience,” said Warner Bros. film group President Jeff Robinov, pointing to the film’s box office debut of $53 million. “To go forward we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action…. And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth.”

After its so-so opening, “Green Lantern” fizzled at the domestic box office, ending up with only $114 million. Its overseas performance in important countries such as Great Britain, Germany and Russia has also been weak.

Warner Bros. already has an outline for a sequel on hand written by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, who all worked on the script for the original. However, several people familiar with the thinking of executives there who were not authorized to speak on the record say Warner will likely make significant changes to the outline, if not start over from scratch, in developing a sequel.

One change the executives are quite certain of, however: They would like a new director. Warner Bros. was not thrilled with the work of “Green Lantern” director Martin Campbell, the people said, and would likely seek a new director for a sequel should one go into production.

However, one person close to Campbell said the director’s contract gave him an option to work on a sequel, meaning the studio would likely need to reach some accommodation with the “Casino Royale” and “Legend of Zorro” director in order to go ahead without him.

Ben Foster To Play John Gotti Jr. "Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father"

Ben Foster has been cast as John Gotti Jr. in Barry Levinson’s Gotti: In The Shadow of my Father, starring John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston.

Levinson begins shooting the independent film, scripted by James Toback and produced by Fiore Films, in New York in January. The project has the blessing of Gotti Jr., and delves into his relationship with his father, John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family. Gotti Sr. will be played by Travolta.

Foster’s film credits include The Mechanic, 3:10 to Yuma and X-Men: The Last Stand. His television credits include HBO’s Six Feet Under.

Levinson, the writer and director of Diner, Tin Men and Avalon, took over the project after director Nick Cassavetes bowed out in May over scheduling conflicts. Levinson has some mob film experience -- he directed Bugsy, for which Toback wrote the screenplay. Toback has been brought in to rework the original Gotti script.

Laurence Fishburne To Play Perry White In Man of Steel

EW is reporting that Laurence Fishburne will play Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in Man of Steel, White has traditionally been a hard-charging, old fashioned newspaperman, who relies on his ace reporters, Clark and Lois, to get the big scoop. Jackie Cooper played White in the Christopher Reeve-era Superman films, and Frank Langella took on the role in director Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns in 2006.

The casting resolves the question of what Laurence would be up to following his departure this May from CBS’ long-running CSI after just over two seasons. (Ted Danson will take Fishburne’s place on the show this fall.)

The Superman reboot, produced by Christopher Nolan and directed by Zack Snyder, stars Henry Cavill as Clark (a.k.a. Superman), Amy Adams as Lois, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. David Goyer (Batman Begins) is penning the script.

Man of Steel is due to begin filming this fall, and is slated for release on June 14, 2013.

Doctor Strange Movie Closer To Reality

As Marvel mines the depths of their character catalog for big screen properties one thing has become clear: They are rapidly coming to the end of the big, mainstream characters and, if they are to continue, things are going to get weird. Hardcore fans of the label have been waiting for the weird factor to crank up and recent Marvel entries have nodded to the supernatural, cosmic side of the Marvel Universe with elements of both Thor and Captain America leaning in that direction. But for all that Thor is a god and Captain America showed off the Cosmic Cube that's still not the real thing. If you want Cosmic Marvel you want Doctor Strange.

Created in 1963 Doctor Strange is the story of an arrogant surgeon who is injured in a car accident and goes on to become the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe. Using his magical powers Strange protects the earth from attacks from other realms.

Fans have been vocal about wanting a Doctor Strange movie for a while now and there have been rumblings that Marvel was listening, most recently a June, 2010 report that Marvel had hired Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to draft a script. When Marvel hired the Donnelly / Oppenheimer duo they were significantly hotter properties than they are right now, the duo having just been hired to draft the Conan reboot and having turned in a draft of Cowboys And Aliens. With Cowboys not faring so well at the box office and anticipation for Conan sputtering badly the pair may be taking a bit of a hit these days but when Marvel hired them they were hot properties and the signing meant that Marvel was taking Doctor Strange seriously. And they still are.

Twitch has learned that Oppenheimer and Donnelly have now turned in their script and Marvel is pushing forward with the property. Marvel has drafted a short list of directors to approach on the title and is forwarding the current script to each to try and sign someone up to 'oversee continued development'.

You can read that 'continued development' comment a couple ways. Either Marvel is basically happy with the draft that they have now but want to give the eventual director a chance to make their mark on it before considering things locked down or they are looking for a director who can also re-tool the script from the ground up. Either way, though, this is a sign that Marvel is committed to the character and are looking at Doctor Strange as a 2013 release. With word out now that Edgar Wright has also turned in his script for Ant-Man the superhero world is about to get a bit weirder.

Talk Of "Say Anything" Sequel

Cameron Crowe is not a man known for his sequels. His output has been strictly original (not counting Vanilla’s Sky’s status as a remake of Open Your Eyes). But when he sat down with the press on Saturday at the biannual Television Critics tour to discuss his new documentary Pearl Jam Twenty, he did admit that he’d had thoughts across the years that he might continue the story of one of his best movies – Say Anything

As you’ll likely know, the 1989 film saw John Cusack as noble underachiever and outspoken high school senior Lloyd Dobler, who meets and woos the brainy and beautiful Diane Court (Ione Skye). They don’t seem like the perfect couple, and Diane’s father (John Mahoney) definitely doesn’t want them together, but Lloyd has a particular brand of charm that makes him all the more loveable…

"Say Anything... is the only thing that I've written that I would consider doing that with," said Crowe, when asked about the idea. "And I've thought about it from time to time, and talked about it with John Cusack once. This is the only story that I've thought there might be another chapter to that at some point."

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that anything will ever actually happen, and Crowe is busy anyway between the Pearl Jam piece, Elton John documentary The Union and putting the finishing touches to his new movie We Bought a Zoo, which will arrive on December 23.

Twilight Cast Talk Breaking Dawn At Comic-Con

Empire got a few more tidbits from the cast and director Bill Condon on what we can expect from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, and what it was like to finish shooting the entire saga.

Sushi Girl Trailer Starring Noah Hathaway, Mark Hamill & Tony Todd

Today we serve you the trailer for the upcoming film Sushi Girl. The film stars an eclectic cast. From Luke Skywalker to Candyman to Atreyu from The Neverending Story.

Funny story I got a chance to meet Noah Hathaway at a party during Comic-Con this year. And I think that was one of my Highlights of Comic-Con this year. Ok enough about me onto the film.

The film stars Tony Todd, James Duval, Noah Hathaway, Andy Mackenzie, Mark Hamill, Michael Biehn, Sonny Chiba and Cyrus Alexander.

Fish has spent six years in jail. Six years alone. Six years keeping his mouth shut about the robbery, about the other men involved. The night he is released, the four men he protected with silence celebrate his freedom with a congratulatory dinner. The meal is a lavish array of sushi, served off the naked body of a beautiful young woman. The sushi girl seems catatonic, trained to ignore everything in the room, even if things become dangerous. Sure enough, the four unwieldy thieves can't help but open old wounds in an attempt to find their missing loot.
