Actor Christopher Lee Dies at 93

Prolific actor experienced late-life resurgence. Story by Matt Cummings Depending on who you talk to, Actor Christopher Lee was either that scary guy from 60/70s horror cinema or that scary guy in the Star Wars prequels and Lord of the Rings . Either way, Lee's death on Sunday of heart failure reminds us of the incredible late-career resurgence which the Son of Dracula experienced, a fact that doesn't happen too often in the grind that is Hollywood. Born Christopher Frank Carandini Lee in Belgravia, Westminster, England on May 27, 1922, Lee was a military brat whose father and mother divorced when he was young. Before he became an actor, Lee had volunteered to fight against the Soviet Union in 1939, later serving the RAF and British intelligence during WWII. That period seems to have been an important turning point for Lee, who later remarked that his willingness to do so many horror films was nothing compared to what he had seen as a spy for the British governm

Fargo (FX) The year’s biggest surprise. There was no reason to expect anything from Noah Hawley’s ten-episode interpretation of the Coen Brothers classic. It seemed like the most thankless of tasks; at its best, it could only wither in the shadow of the film. Comic-Con Petco Park Events Activities

Petco Park Events was kind enough to provide us with a map and hours for the annual Petco Park Interactive Zone, held just across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. This year the Interactive Zone brings us booths from upcoming movies like T eenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sin City 2, TV series including the Sleepy Hollow Headless-Horseman bridge, and a number of other activations, including the return of the Adult Swim Fun House . And good news for foodies- the local food trucks will be on hand to help curve those convention-going appetites as well. #SleepyHollow & #Gotham Comic-Con Off Site Events

Every year, offsite events surrounding San Diego Comic-Con get just a little bigger, a little better — and FOX has stepped up its game in a huge way for 2014. Variety is reporting several offsite experiences around the convention center, promoting Sleepy Hollow and Gotham . Here’s the list of offsites events after the Jump... Sleppy Hollow fans can head to the Petco Interactive Zone (the parking lot beside Petco Park) for the “Sleepy Hollow Virtual Reality Experience, which will be open Thursday-Sunday from 9AM-6PM daily. There, attendees will be “transported” via an Oculus Rift headset (that we got a peek at the other day) into a virtual reality Sleepy Hollow experience, where they will be chased by a headless horseman. Variety is also reporting that cast and creative will make an appearance, which perhaps mean an offsite autograph signing. FOX will also be pushing Gotham hard this year, with the San Diego Trolleys already receiving a makeover to promote the show. The network
