BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Thor: Ragnarok Rules The Box Office

Following the usual Marvel plan of opening in select international markets (including the UK), Thor: Ragnarok rumbled into Stateside cinemas and made a big impact. The new movie earned $121 million, according to studio estimates. Adding to its previous haul from elsewhere, the latest Thor entry is up to $427 million, which is a healthy start for the movie. It was more than enough to see off its nearest competitor, A Bad Moms Christmas , which looked to offer a little counter-programming to the latest superhero outing. At $17 million, it's not on the level of the original, which launched with $23.8 million last year, but it's not too bad considering the film's roughly $28 million production price tag. Jigsaw was pushed down to third place, adding $6.7 million, while Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween also fell, landing in fourth with $4.6 million. Geostorm rounded out the top five, making $3 million. At sixth, we find Happy Death Day , which earned $2.8 mil

Jigsaw Lands In The Top Spot

Its opponents might have had star power or heartstring-plucking stories of veterans, but with Halloween on the way, Jigsaw beat the rest at the Stateside box office game. The latest – if belated – sequel for the Saw series earned $16.2 million, according to studio estimates. The horror, which sees the legacy of Jigsaw come back to haunt some new victims, was made for a budget of $10 million (not counting marketing etc.), but despite the seven-year gap between the last movie and this one, it appears the appetite for the torturous games of the killer is still eager. Last week's champion, Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween slipped to second on $10 million. And Geostorm was shoved to third, making $5.6 million. In fourth place, fellow horror (this one with more intentional comedy) Happy Death Day took in $5 million, ahead of Blade Runner 2049 on $3.9 million, rounding out the top five. You have to scan down the charts to sixth to find Thank You For Your Service ,
