License To Drive Remake On It's Way

There are often calls, whenever a remake is announced, for studios (if they must remake at all) to focus on films that aren't considered classics. 1988's Corey Haim/Corey Feldman comedy License To Drive , for all its nostalgia appeal, falls into that category. And now original producer John Davis is cooking up a new version – with a twist. In keeping with some recent takes on movies (such as the Anna Faris-focused Overboard), the new License will feature female leads. Writers Alish Brophy and Scott Miles are aboard to develop the new concept, which will be a spin on the original. The '80s License saw Haim as 16-year-old Les Anderson, desperate to get out on the road, but fails his driving test. Undeterred, he decides to take out girlfriend Mercedes Lane (Heather Graham) in his grandfather's prized 1972 Cadillac Sedan de Ville, and the comic complications spin out from there.
