Live-Action Hercules Film To Be Produced By The Russo Brothers

THR is reporting Joe and Anthony Russo are producing, but not directing, the remake via their AGBO banner.

Disney is going to zero to hero once more, putting into development a live-action remake of its 1997 animated movie Hercules.

The studio has hired Dave Callaham, the action scribe who launched The Expendables franchise and wrote Marvel’s upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, to pen the script.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the filmmakers behind the Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War, are set to produce via their AGBO banner.

Daisy Ridley To Star In The Ice Beneath Her

With her stint in Star Wars now behind her, Daisy Ridley can start to plan the next phase of her career. She's now in negotiations to star in crime thriller The Ice Beneath Her.

STX snapped up the rights to the concept, which adapts Camilla Grebe's 2015 bestseller, which has drawn comparisons to Gone Girl. The story revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.

Ridley was last seen as Rey in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (which is about to hit Disney+ on Monday next week) and is a lead in Chaos Walking, which has been beset by script issues and re-writes, but it currently scheduled to land in January 2021.

As his ambitious younger sister (Maude Apatow, HBO’s Euphoria) heads off to college, Scott is still living with his exhausted ER nurse mother (Oscar® winner Marisa Tomei) and spends his days smoking weed, hanging with the guys—Oscar (Ricky Velez, Master of None), Igor (Moises Arias, Five Feet Apart) and Richie (Lou Wilson, TV’s The Guest Book)—and secretly hooking up with his childhood friend Kelsey (Bel Powley, Apple TV+’s The Morning Show).

But when his mother starts dating a loudmouth firefighter named Ray (Bill Burr, Netflix’s F Is for Family), it sets off a chain of events that will force Scott to grapple …
