LeBron James To Star In " Fantasy Basketball"

"Fantasy Basketball" With LeBron James
LeBron can do no wrong right now except win a Title, With Shaq joining him this year who knows.
I love his Nike Commercials that he done, LeBron seems like a pretty good guy with an out going personality. Every sports star want to be an Actor and Every Actor wants to be a sports star so this transition would be only fitting.

LeBron James will make his feature starring debut, playing himself in "Fantasy Basketball Camp," a Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment comedy.

Brian Grazer is producing. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel are writing the script.

Pic is a comedy about five guys from different backgrounds who come to Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending the LeBron James Adult Basketball Camp. While it should be enough that these dreamers get to breathe the same oxygen as their hero, the campers drag James into their various life issues, ranging from serious to idiotic.

Grazer said the picture came out of meetings he had with James and his partner Maverick Carter, encounters that left Grazer feeling confident the Cleveland Cavaliers star could make the same easy transition to the screen that Eminem did in his screen debut on "8 Mile," which Grazer also produced.

"I initially sought LeBron out because my 8-year-old son, Thomas, and I were just dying to meet him, but I felt that beyond being one of the world's great superstar athletes, here was someone so relaxed and comfortable with himself that he would have the capability to be that way onscreen," Grazer said. "Later, when I watched him host 'Saturday Night Live,' and saw his advertising work, it was clear he can do this."

Robert De Niro and Spike Lee Joining Forces with Showtime

Robert De Niro and Spike Lee Joining Forces with Showtime
A weird combination. Robert De Niro and Spike Lee, well in one way they are from the same town and have made some great movies over the years.

It seems like something good may just turn out. De Niro is great in anything he does and with Lee it is a hit or miss.
Quintessential New York filmmakers Spike Lee and Robert De Niro have teamed with Showtime to develop a drama series about Manhattan's Alphabet City.

The project, titled "Alphaville," will be written by John Ridley, with Lee on board to direct the potential pilot.

It is executive produced by Ridley, Lee, De Niro and his producing partner Jane Rosenthal, whose Tribeca Prods. is on board to produce.

"Alphaville" is an ensemble drama chronicling Alphabet City's gritty and tumultuous past before it became the gentrified East Village.

Set during the 1980s, it will re-create the neighborhood's eclectic mix of struggling artists and musicians living alongside Puerto Rican and black families.

Along with its growing bohemian and celebrity population that also included graffiti artists, break-dancers, rappers and DJs, the neighborhood was plagued by illegal drug activity and violent crime.

Local tensions culminated in the Tompkins Square Park riot of 1988, in which police clashed with anarchists and homeless activists.

The 1980s Alphabet City was the setting for the musical "Rent." The neighborhood also served as the backdrop for two De Niro pictures: 1976's "Taxi Driver" and 1999's "Flawless."

Nicolas Cage Explains "Green Hornet" Choice

Nicolas Cage Explains "Green Hornet" Choice

He is in or is he out. He is out and that came from the horse mouth.

Nicolas Cage says he dropped out of "The Green Hornet" film because of creative differences with star and screenwriter Seth Rogen and director Michel Gondry.

Cage discussed his decision while appearing at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote the darkly comic film, "Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call: New Orleans." He had been in talks to play the lead villain opposite Vancouver's Rogen, who will portray the masked crime fighter.

But Cage says he "wasn't interested in just being just a straight-up bad guy who was killing people willy-nilly."

He says Rogen and Gondry "had a different take on the character" and there wasn't enough time to develop the script.

Zach Galifianakis To Tell "A Funny Story"

Zach Galifianakis To Tell "A Funny Story"
I don't think that I have laugh my ass so much during a movie, as much as I did watching The Hangover, . Zach Galifianakis is having a break out year so far Staring in The Hangover and also Disney's G-Force

Zach Galifianakis, breakout star of The Hangover, is in negotiations to star in A Funny Story, alongside Emma Roberts and with Half-Nelson writer-directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, er, writing and directing.

The story's set in a mental institute, so immediately we're saying that this is comedy of the darker and more dramatic sort. Based on Ned Vizzini's young-adult novel, it's the story of a teenage boy (as-yet uncast) who is sent to the institution following a bout of depression. He somehow ends up in an adult ward (the Daily Mail would be up in arms) and befriends a number of odd adults and an unusual teenage girl.

Galifianakis would play one of the most prominent of the adult patients, while Roberts would of course be playing the love interest.

J.J Abrams Talks Star Trek 2 and Mission Impossible 4

J.J Abrams Talks Star Trek 2 and Mission Impossible 4

I was not a Star Trek Fan by any means, But when I went to the theaters and saw The movie. My mouth dropped, at how great the movie was and from then on I became a fan. I still feel that Star Trek is the Best movie of the summer. And with the news of Mission: Impossible 4. Tom Cruise and Abrams teaming up again. Forget About It.

Any momentum on Mission: Impossible IV?

Abrams: Yeah, we have a really cool story. It's being written right now by Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum.

What's your ETA on when you'll see the draft?

Abrams: We're hoping to get it soon, like by the end of the year.

Could it work out for you to direct it?

Abrams: I'm open to anything.

What about that secret romantic movie Morning Glory?

Abrams: Morning Glory is being edited right now. It comes out next year.

Does it have a release date?

Abrams: Not yet.

Where are you in talks for Star Trek 2?

Abrams: We're hopefully going to have everyone, obviously, from the first cast. I keep trying to spread this rumor that I'm going to recast Kirk as Greg Grunberg, but no one ever prints it.

Have you settled on what direction you're going to take it?

Abrams: We're just starting on that. Yes, we know the direction, but it's very early. We're working on a script right now still. I can tell you it's cool. We have some really cool ideas, but it's too early.

So Orci and Kurtzman have physically started writing?

Abrams: No, but we've started talking story, and Damon's writing it with them.

Jessica Biel To Join Cast Of The A-Team Movie

Jessica Biel To Join Cast Of The A-Team Movie
This Movie Is just getting Better and Better looking. It is in my top five movies most looking foward to in 2010.
Sharlto Copley, the star of this summer's breakout hit "District 9," is in final negotiations to portray "Howling Mad" Murdock in Fox's "A-Team" feature film. Jessica Biel is also in negotiations to join the production.

Copley and Biel will join Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson to round out the special forces team convicted of a crime they didn't commit and on the run from government forces. Joe Carnahan is directing the adaptation of the 1980s television show, while Ridley and Tony Scott produce.

Copley seemingly came out of nowhere to star in "District 9," landing the role in the movie due to childhood friend Neill Blomkamp's fondness for Copley's improvisational skills, skills which will be ideally suited to the Murdock character.

Murdock was the wild card of the group, the Army's best chopper pilot who is also suffering, in an over-the-top manner, from delusions, memory loss, and hallucinations. Dwight Shultz originated the role in the TV series.

Biel would play the former love of Faceman (Cooper), an Army general who is now pursuing the team.

Patrick Swayze Passes Away At The Age Of 57

Patrick Swayze Passes Away At The Age Of 57

Today we lost another great Actor. It is a sad day for all. When I heard the news I didn't belive it, had to turn on the news and there it was Patrick Swayze passed away. Patrick Swayze was in some of my favorite classic movies. Road House dam good movie! Point Break another classic, Red Dawn Come on now and who can forget The Outsiders and one of April's favorite movie Dirty Dancing.

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into moviegoers' hearts with "Dirty Dancing" and then broke them with "Ghost," died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," his publicist, Annett Wolf, said in a statement Monday evening. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but she declined to give further details.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from a particularly deadly form of cancer. He kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting "The Beast," an A&E drama series for which he had already made the pilot.

Swayze said he opted not to use painkilling drugs while making "The Beast" because they would have taken the edge off his performance. The show drew a respectable 1.3 million viewers when the 13 episodes ran in 2009, but A&E said it had reluctantly decided not to renew it for a second season.

When he first went public with the illness, some reports gave him only weeks to live, but his doctor said his situation was "considerably more optimistic" than that. Swayze acknowledged that time might be running out given the grim nature of the disease.

"I'd say five years is pretty wishful thinking," Swayze told ABC's Barbara Walters in early 2009. "Two years seems likely if you're going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I'd better get a fire under it."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joining Cast Of Red Dawn

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joining Cast Of "Red Dawn "
Looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan will soon be waking up to a Red Dawn.

The Watchmen star is in talks to join Dan Bradley’s remake of the 1984 John Milius semi-classic, about a band of teenagers who form the Resistance when World War III comes to their small American town in the shape of invading Chinese and Russian soldiers.

Morgan will play the leader of a U.S. Special Forces team who discovers the teenagers – now known as the Wolverines – while he’s behind enemy lines. If the role is at all comparable to Powers Boothe’s downed pilot in the original, he’ll then stick around to lend his expertise to the Wolverines as they make life difficult for the invaders.

And though the Red Dawn role will probably only be a supporting role, there’s no doubt that the 43 year-old will bring a gravitas to a cast so youthful – Chris Hemsworth, Adrienne Palicki, Josh Peck.

Michael Douglas Gives Insight About Wall Street 2

Michael Douglas Gives Insight About Wall Street 2
Michael Douglas is starting shooting today on Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps for director Oliver Stone, but we managed to grab a few minutes with him over the weekend and got the lowdown on what Gordon Gekko has been up to in the years between films.

"It’s 22 years later," Douglas explains. "Gordon has done about eight years in jail and got out in about 2001. The picture predominantly focuses on these last couple of years on Wall Street, which nobody anticipated. We shot the first one in 1986 and it was a wild, wild colourful time. And here we have both a train crash and a larger-than-life period leading up to that train crash. It’s an exciting time to make a picture about Wall Street."

"Is this a softer Gekko? Eh, I can’t say that. I think he’s got some amends to make. (Laughs) We’ll see what he’s up to."

"We’ve got Josh Brolin playing what I guess is the villain of the piece. There’s a little bit of Terence Stamp, from the first one, in there. Allan Loeb wrote a good script and when Oliver signed on he put his fingerprints all over it. I think it’ll be a relevant movie. It’s all to do with the execution, I guess.

BattleShip Movie Is Set For Sail in 2011

BattleShip Movie Is Set For Sail in 2011

Universal has set July 1, 2011, for the release of "Battleship," confirming Peter Berg as helmer of the live-action pic based on Hasbro's naval combat board game.

Deal is part of a two-picture pic pact Berg has made with U, where he'll follow "Battleship" with an Afghan war drama "Lone Survivor."

Universal's date declaration positions "Battleship" to become the second film release from the studio's multiyear deal with Hasbro to turn its classic games into features.

"Battleship" is the latest in Universal's strong push toward branded entertainment films, and Hasbro has fast become an increasingly important cog in that campaign.

Scott Stuber and his U-based Stuber Pictures will produce "Battleship" alongside Hasbro's Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir, Berg and his Film 44 partner Sarah Aubrey. Script was written by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber ("Whiteout").

For Berg, the picture realizes a passion for ship-bound war stories that he picked up from his naval historian father.

"I've been consumed with doing one of these since I tried to convince Tom Rothman at Fox to make a film about John Paul Jones, the founder of the American Navy," Berg said. "As a kid, I was dragged from Navy museum to museum, and spent so much time on ships, listening to my father talk about the great battles of WWII, I did my high school thesis on the Battle of Midway. When this came up, it didn't take me long to find a take for a film that is filled with raucous action-packed naval battles."
Berg made something of a quid pro quo pact with the studio to follow "Battleship" with "Lone Survivor," a fact-based story he scripted about a Navy SEAL team that is sent to Afghanistan and is ambushed.

Harrison Ford Talks Indy 5

Harrison Ford Talks Indy 5

I am not for sure if this is a good idea. Coming out with another Indy movie. I did not enjoy the last Indy Movie that came out. Come on Hide in a Fridge from a nuclear bomb?
Dust off the fedora and clear out the snakes – Indiana Jones is ready to ride again.

Harrison Ford, 67, says he's already ready for the globe-trotting archaeologist's next adventure, only a year after one of history's most successful film franchises was revived – and that the next chapter is already well on its way.

"The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form," Ford told France's Le Figaro. "Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put the costume on again."

The screen legend was on hand to accept a career honor at the Deauville Film Festival, with partner Calista Flockhart on his arm.

In June, while promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Shia LaBouef – who plays Indiana Jones' son, Mutt – told the BBC, "Steven's just said that he's cracked the story."
