Rather than have the suit leak via some awful pap pictures on set, all badly handled lighting and weird details showing up, The Batman's director Matt Reeves has chosen instead to go the arty, camera test route to show off what Robert Pattinson looks like in the gear. The Batman has found its Penguin. Colin Farrell is in talks to play the DC villain, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Filmmaker Matt Reeves is behind The Batman , which stars Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, with other actors including Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Batman ally Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Danny DeVito previously played The Penguin in Tim Burton's 1992 film, Batman Returns, while Burgess Meredith portrayed him in the 1960s Batman TV series and Robin Lord Taylor played a younger version of the character on Fox's Gotham. Variety is reporting “Big Little Lies” star Zoe Kravitz has been tapped to play Catwoman , the antiheroine and sometime love interest of the Caped Crusader, in Matt Reeves ’ upcoming “ The Batman .” Kravitz will star opposite Robert Pattinson as Batman. Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics pic is expected to start this summer. No official start date has been set, although insiders tell Variety that filming could start in late 2019 or early 2020. “The Batman” is scheduled to hit theaters June 25, 2021. Reeves, the filmmaker behind the last two “Planet of the Apes” sequels, took over “Batman” directing duties from Ben Affleck in January 2017. Affleck departed his role as Batman following “Justice League,” allowing Reeves to pick his own Bruce Wayne. Reeves’ “Planet of the Apes” collaborator Dylan Clark will produce. Kravitz is coming off her second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” which aired its finale in July. She also has the Hulu series “High Fidelity” coming

Though he's still keeping much of the movie's details locked behind a secure door, some information is starting to emerge about Christopher Nolan's latest. On the heels of word that BlacKkKlansman 's John David Washington is up for a lead role, Collider brings the news that Robert Pattinson also also circling the movie, along with a report from Variety that also mentions Elizabeth Debicki . As with the report on Washington's casting, there is naturally no information as to what Pattinson might be doing in the film, or what it'll be actually about beyond the rumors it'll be a big, innovative action blockbuster with a healthy portion of IMAX shooting. Collider has at least heard that Pattinson and Washington would star alongside Debicki and an older male character, though naturally we'll have to wait and see on that front. Warner Bros. is naturally high on what the Dunkirk director and his wife/long-time producer Emma Thomas will be making this
