HEROES REBORN Coming To NBC In 2015

I was a huge fan of the show Heroes until it fell off course in season 4. But this is some exciting new for true fans of the original series.

NEW EVENT MINISERIES ‘HEROES REBORN’ COMES TO NBC IN 2015

Tim Kring to Executive Produce 13 New Episodes of Groundbreaking Series ‘Heroes’

NBC is bringing back its conquering “Heroes.”

An iconic series that still commands a rabid fan base, “Heroes” will return to the network in 2015 as an event miniseries with original creator and executive producer Tim Kring at the helm, it was announced today by NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke.

NBC has ordered 13 episodes for a new stand-alone story arc entitled “Heroes Reborn,” with all details of storylines and characters being kept under wraps.

“The enormous impact ‘Heroes’ had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

The original series chronicled the life-changing stories of a series of unrelated ordinary people who discovered they had superhuman abilities. As the saga unfolded, they learned they were part of a grand plan that brought them together to change the world.

With the return of “Heroes Reborn,” NBC will launch a digital series prior to the 2015 premiere that will introduce the characters and new storylines. This leveraging of social media is a way for fans to re-engage with what was one for the true pioneers in multiplatform storytelling.
#HeroesReborn

The iconic sci-fi series, which ran on NBC from 2006-10 and was an immediate hit, ranked as television’s #1 new drama with an average audience of 14.5 million viewers during its initial season. The show was Golden Globe-nominated in its first year of eligibility for best drama series; it won the BAFTA Award for best international series, the AFI Award, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films Saturn Award, two People’s Choice Awards and the Television Critics Association Award for Program of the Year.

“Heroes” remains one of the best-selling TV series on DVD of all time with more than 10 million units sold.

Win Tickets To An Advance Screening For 300: Rise Of An Empire In Sacramento

Win Tickets To An Advance For 300: Rise Of An Empire on Mar 3, 2014 7:30 pm in Sacramento at Century Stadium 14.

300: Rise Of An Empireis an upcoming 2014 American fantasy action film directed by Noam Murro. It is a follow-up to the 2007 film 300, taking place before, during, and after the events of that film. Zack Snyder, who directed and co-wrote the original film, acts as writer and producer on Rise of an Empire.

The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Callan Mulvey, Hans Matheson, and Jack O'Connell. The cast also includes Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro, and David Wenham, reprising their roles from the first film.

The movie is a Fake recreation of history, theatrical, romanced, highly graphic view of Greek History under the second Persian invasion of Greece (480–479 BC). It centers on Themistocles of Athens and Artemisia I of Caria, as well as Xerxes I of Persia, and Gorgo, Queen of Sparta. The Battle of Artemisium was a naval engagement, concurrent with the battle of Thermopylae previously displayed in 300, and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in September 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and the northern tip of the island of Euboea. The film will also focus on the naval Battle of Salamis (480BC), just south of Athens, in which Artemisia played a major role, as well as possibly the much earlier Battle of Marathon (490BC), from the first Persian invasion of Greece. The Battle of Salamis (home of the mythical hero Ajax) was fought after the Persian Empire had advanced into southern Greece and occupied Athens.

The film will also cover some of the backstory of Xerxes, and will explain how he became "the God King".

New Godzilla Poster

For something so huge, the star of the new Godzilla is a remarkably camera shy creature, always seemingly turning his/her/its back whenever anyone tries to take a picture. Worried they won’t capture your best side?

It’s fair to say that while the San Francisco tourist board are happy to encourage visitors to check out the city’s many attractions and features, we’re certain they won’t be too pleased that a massive beast is stomping through town causing untold damage. And we do mean massive; comparing this version to the Transamerica Pyramid there in the foreground, which is 850ft. / 260m tall, would suggest ginormity. For comparison, last summer's Pacific Rim kaiju topped out at 181m long, and the Godzilla here seems to be roughly twice as big. Unless, of course, the poster designer has gone a little nuts here and done the monster equivalent of giving him heel-lifts.

That’s just one element of the film, which finds Monsters director Gareth Edwards updating the creature feature with a little help from the likes of Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and David Strathairn.

3 DAYS TO KILL Review. Entertaining But As Sloppy As They Get

3 DAYS TO KILL Review
By: MattInRC

The Kevin Coster action flick 3 Days to Kill is entertaining but as sloppy as they get.

Director McG is one of my favorites. In 2002, he introduced us to the most important directorial innovation of the past decade: the Ram, in which a scene is suddenly slowed down for 5-10 seconds, then sped up for the same time, before returning to normal speed. Zack Snyder used this to perfection in 300, and McG utilized it every week on his short-lived but sexy/violent Fox show. Today, his technique is seen everywhere, begging the question why he never uses it in the new movie 3 Days to Kill, a sloppy and unfulfilling ride that feels like a reject from Dr. Frankenstein instead from a renowned director.

When veteran CIA agent Ethan Renner (Kevin Coster) learns he is terminally ill, he returns to Paris to reconnect with estranged wife Christine (Connie Nielsen) and their daughter Zoey (Hailee Steinfeld). However, the long arm of the CIA returns in the form of Agent Vivi Dely (Amber Heard), who bears a unique gift: an experimental drug that can cure Ethan, provided that he will complete one more job for the company. Ethan uses unique methods to hunt The Wolf (Richard Sammel) while trying to patch things up with his family and keep his real job a secret from the inquisitive Zoey. As the body count rises, Ethan must make a choice between accepting more injections for more kills or living out the rest of his days with those he cares most about.

3 Days to Kill can't decide if it wants to be an action thriller, a spy comedy, or a touching drama, tripping haphazardly between them and frustrating us with its seesaw motion. That blame falls squarely upon the shoulders of Writers Luc Besson and Adi Hasak, who treat several elements of the story with such disdain that it's hard to figure out how they got this script approved. There's no real danger for Costner to tackle as we know how this will end; when it does, Heard's character steps in to finish things, when it's clear she could have done this all along. Hers is a transformation that's hard to understand - she starts off first as a professionally-dressed CIA Control-type of agent, but arrives in Paris decked out in vynil, leather, and corsets. Her overt sexuality and fetishes are never explained, seem unrealistic from the start, and continue when she returns home after a job well done. Such a brazenly sexual character could have represented a wild card for Costner to deal with at film's end - instead, she stands over him legs spread open, with Costner retorting, "Is this what Hell looks like?" But it's also a post-production nightmare, filled with horrible ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording) and stunt drivers who are clearly not Costner. Typically they wear masks - which are usually replaced with the actor's face in post production - but that is forgotten here. The bad guys are your typical standard-form dudes with no emotion, including Sammuel and Tómas Lemarquis who plays his assistant The Albino. Apparently, early test audiences agreed: as we emerged from the screening, we couldn't help but notice a rather lengthy 'Re-shoot Team' in the credit which is never a good sign.

However, the pieces of this puzzle are stronger than the whole and there are many things to like here. Costner and Steinfeld have great chemistry, representing another success for the young Ender's Game actress. The funny scenes are good, especially between Costner, Bruno Ricci and Marc Andréoni as The Wolf's money guys. McG shoots a nice 'tennis match' scene with Ricci that reminds us of Reservoir Dogs with Ricci dispensing pasta sauce recipes to Steinfeld before being interrogated. The idea of a father missing out on the most important events in his daughter's life is another enticing element, which by itself would have made for a great picture. Even the score by Guillaume Roussel is both beautiful and pulsing when it needs to be. And yet it still doesn't work - the Heard character, sloppy dialogue, and a general sense of things being rushed simply pushes down what should have been the real story - the chance for a father to reconnect with his family - in favor of random action and comedy. Costner is given more meat in this year's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, playing essentially the Heard character with a ton more class and style. He's still a great leading man, and given a good parts like Jack Ryan and Man of Steel he will continue to pack theaters. But 3 Days to Kill could have been more, and it's frustrating to watch it miss chance after chance to impress.
3 Days to Kill could have been the next sensible evolutionary step in a genre mostly stuck in a cycle of fast car chases and scantily-clad women, sans Skyfall; instead, it seesaws between passable drama, lighthearted comedy, and acceptable action. Its parts are better than its whole, with horrible ADR and post-production and a script that can't figure out what it is, leading one to wonder how such things can happen with a team of this caliber. We'd recommend this only for a matinee, but realize that not even a Director's Cut on Blu-ray would settle the issue. 3 Days to Kill represents an important a lesson in film-making: just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It's rated PG-13 for sexual situations and drug use and has a runtime of 113 minutes.

Fantastic Four Reboot Has Been Cast

After a final rewrite to the script and a long casting process, Fox looks to have assembled the team for its “Fantastic Four” reboot.

Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell will join Michael B. Jordan in the latest installment in the comicbook franchise.

Mara recently closed a deal to play play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. While no offer is out yet, Bell is expected to be tapped to play Ben Grimm/The Thing. Teller has an offer to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, but deal points are a little further away from being completed. Jordan has been attached for some time to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch.

Teller and Mara have been on Fox’s radar since they were expected to test in November — events that were pushed when Simon Kinberg came on for the last polish on the script.

Bell came into the mix after Fox resumed screen tests.

Based on the comic “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Josh Trank will helm the pic with Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.

With its four leads on board, Fox will now try to find its villain and hopes to test a handful of actors in the coming weeks.

“The Fantastic Four” is slated to bow June 19, 2015.

Terminator: Genesis: Jai Courtney To Play Kyle Reese

Jai Courtney has emerged as the one of the saviors of the world. I am not sure I really like this choice.

Courtney has nabbed the role of Kyle Reese in Terminator: Genesis, the reboot being made by Paramount and Skydance, according to several sources. Paramount had no comment.

Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke are portraying Sarah Connor and John Connor in the movie, which will be directed by Alan Taylor.

The movie has been rigorously testing actors for all parts including that of Reese, the hero who in the original travels to the present to save Sarah Connor and ends up fathering future human resistance hero John Connor.

The role came down to Courtney and Boyd Holbrook, with Holbrook even testing twice.

Courtney played a key role in TV’s Spartacus and played Bruce Willis’ son in A Good Day to Die Hard. He’ll next be seen in YA adaptation Divergent.

Two New Star Wars Rebels Teaser Trailers

We’ve had a few glimpses of new cartoon series Star Wars Rebels already, including a look at the main ship and quirky Astromech droid Chopper and a hissable introduction to main villain The Inquisitor. With the show due to start airing in the autumn, two teasers have now arrived with some more footage.

Star Wars Rebels is set 14 years after the events of Revenge Of The Sith and four years before Luke sets off on his adventure in Star Wars. It focuses on a young core group of characters, including “Cowboy” Jedi Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr), in hiding from the Empire’s death sweep and refusing to use his powers to help the fight; Ezra Bridger; Zeb Orrelios and Hera Syndulla. Flying aboard the Starship Ghost, they’re trying to avoid capture by the Imperial forces with the aid (and occasional hindrance) of Chopper.

Pursuing them with cold ruthlessness is The Inquisitor, an Imperial agent tasked with exterminating the last vestiges of the Jedi order and generally running down rebels as the Empire grows ever stronger.

TRUE ROMANCE "GABZ" Poster For Sale This Friday. Detroit & Los Angeles Version

ODD CITY ENTERTAINMENT AND MORGAN CREEK PRODUCTIONS PARTNER WITH ARTIST GABZ FOR A LIMITED EDITION PRINT HONORING THE TONY SCOTT FILM
TRUE ROMANCE.

Polish artist, GABZ, has again partnered with ODD CITY, this time to bring to the world his vision of the 1993 Tony Scott/Quentin Tarantino epic, TRUE ROMANCE. The image features all the characters whose actions impact the story of our favorite on screen couple, Clarence and Alabama, all encapsulated within the silhouette of Cupid himself. And just as the film featured both the cities of Detroit and Los Angeles, this print will be released in two versions, one for each city. The blue Cupid on white background for Detroit, and the black Cupid on cream for Los Angeles.

“Coming up with a concept for a movie like True Romance, that I have been a huge fan of for years and is among my favourite Tony Scott films of all time, wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be when I first got the proposal. There are so many brilliant quotes, memorable scenes and a mind-blowing soundtrack on top of it all.

The Hawaiian shirted Cupid I went with, symbolizing the bizarre romance between Alabama and Clarence, came to me as a revelation and I felt I had a winner. I desperately wanted to not only catch the mood of the film, but also include as many characters as I could possibly fit. I love every single performance from the movie and I felt like everyone deserved a tribute.” – Grzegorz “GABZ” Domaradzki

Release and Purchase Information:

The Odd City True Romance 24”x36” limited edition prints, in Detroit and Los Angeles versions, will be sold online at the Odd City Entertainment store. They will go on sale at a random time

A NIGHT OF NEED FOR SPEED Screening Images Of Cast

Last night stars Aaron Paul, Scott Mescudi, and Director Scott Waugh introduced special advance screenings via live satellite of NEED FOR SPEED, in 100 theaters across North America. Aaron Paul and Scott Mescudi spoke to fans directly via Twitter chats from the theater in Burbank, CA.

Director Scott Waugh and stars Aaron Paul and Scott Mescudi recently returned from a national media tour where they met with fans at screenings across the country in markets including Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, and New York.

DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action on-screen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, "Need for Speed" captures the freedom and excitement of the game in a real-world setting, while bringing to life the passion for the road that has made our love of cars so timeless.

The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Maddon (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey's shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out West.

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge — but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon — the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

“Need for Speed” is presented by DreamWorks Pictures, produced by Patrick O’Brien, John Gatins and Mark Sourian, and directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay is by George Gatins. The story is by George Gatins & John Gatins, and, based on the video game series created by Electronic Arts. The film releases in U.S. theaters on March 14, 2014.
