The film’s concept finds the pair playing Jay and Annie, a couple who enjoyed an intense connection when they first got together. But ten years and two kids into marriage, things have definitely lost the sparkle.
In an attempt to inject a little passion and danger into their relationship, they decide to pack the children off to a friends’ house and make a video of themselves as they try out every position in The Joy Of Sex during one marathon, three-hour session. Of course, when they learn that the video has somehow escaped into the wider world, and they’re just one click away from being exposed (in every sense) to everyone they know, they race to reclaim their footage – and end up learning some hard truths in the process.
Whether the film can straddle the line between raunch and sentimentality remains to be seen, but with Kasdan in charge it has a decent shot. The cast is also loaded with funny people, including Rob Corddry, Jack Black, Rob Lowe and Ellie Kemper, so we’ll remain hopeful.
