BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

MAN OF STEEL Teaser Trailers Are Here

We have the first two teaser trailer for MAN OF STEEL , starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent and Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy. In the first trailer we get a voice over by Russell Crowe and then second one a voice over by Kevin Costner . I really wish they showed more footage but I guess this is what you get from a teaser trailer. A tease from the upcoming film. Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero Superman to protect its people. P

Man Of Steel Comic-Con Recap

Marvel might have brought Iron Man back to Comic-Con and revealed that it would be bringing the Guardians Of The Galaxy to screens, but that wasn’t the most famous superhero to land in Hall H: that would be Superman, who has returned with Man Of Steel . Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures wheeled out director Zack Snyder and current suit-occupant Henry Cavill to promote it. Snyder - who tellingly refused to confirm whether the villain is General Zod (despite the news long since being out and actor Michael Shannon having talked about playing him) – brought around three minutes of footage to show to an enthused crowd. If there was one thing the footage proved, it was that this has a different, more sombre tone than most screen versions of Supes and Clark Kent. The most interesting shot saw gun-toting army troops leading a handcuffed Superman down a corridor. Elsewhere in the footage, we were treated to narration from Russell Crowe’s Jor-El (choosing to stick with his typical v

Meet Supermans Mommy. Ayelet Zurer Set To Play Lara Lor-Van

Superman is getting a new mom. Ayelet Zurer , the Israeli actress who starred in Angels & Demons and who played the wife of Avner (Eric Bana) in Munich, has been set to play the role of Lara Lor-Van , Superman’s Kryptonian mother, in Man of Steel . Production is underway on the Warner Bros/Legendary film. That role was originally going to be played by Julia Ormond . I was unable to find out why director Zack Snyder made the last-minute change, but I’ve confirmed that Zurer will start filming this week. Henry Cavill plays Superman, Russell Crowe plays Superman’s Kryptonian father, Jor-El , and Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon also star. Zurer will next be seen starring in the Lawrence Kasdan-directed Darling Companion opposite Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline and Dianne Wiest for Sony Pictures Classics. She’s repped by IFA Talent Agency. Man of Steel is produced by Chris Nolan, Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder and Emma Thomas. Please Leave A Comment- Source-

First Look At Superman's Full Costume & 1st Image Of Faora & Zod

Remember that first, official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming movie Man of Steel ? While it wasn't clear from that shot whether or not Cavill was wearing the traditional red underpants, some new photos seem to have settled the matter. A series of pictures taken on the set and posted at the Man of Steel Facebook page appear to show quite definitively that Cavill is not wearing the red trunks that have been part of Superman's costume since the very beginning. So now we can guess why that initial photo deliberately kept Kal-El's mid-section in the shadows—director Zack Snyder and the film's producers (which include Christopher Nolan) wanted to keep the full costume a mystery and not necessarily set off alarm bells with Superman purists. Of course, it's not just the new movie that's messing with the Man of Steel's iconic outfit: DC Comics has also revealed that Superman's red underwear is going to be a thing of the past when the p

Henry Cavill As Superman. First Official Picture From The Man Of Steel

It won't hit screens until 2013, but here's your first sneak peek at Henry Cavill as the Man Of Steel , in Zack Snyder's new take on Superman. It's immediately apparent that the primary colors of the costume have been slightly toned down, and that this is one Kryptonian not afraid of getting his hands dirty. But some things don't change; he's clearly still capable of crumpling a bank vault up like a normal man crumples unwanted sheets of paper. The film also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as the Kent parents, Julia Ormond and Russell Crowe as his Kryptonian parents, Michael Shannon as fellow Kryptonian General Zod and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet. Harry Lennix, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni also star. Christopher Nolan is producing, as well as having worked on the story with David S. Goyer, who then wrote the script. We can expect to see the finished piece on or around June 14, 2013 - so exp

Laurence Fishburne To Play Perry White In Man of Steel

EW is reporting that Laurence Fishburne will play Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in Man of Steel , White has traditionally been a hard-charging, old fashioned newspaperman, who relies on his ace reporters, Clark and Lois, to get the big scoop. Jackie Cooper played White in the Christopher Reeve-era Superman films, and Frank Langella took on the role in director Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns in 2006. The casting resolves the question of what Laurence would be up to following his departure this May from CBS’ long-running CSI after just over two seasons. (Ted Danson will take Fishburne’s place on the show this fall.) The Superman reboot, produced by Christopher Nolan and directed by Zack Snyder, stars Henry Cavill as Clark (a.k.a. Superman), Amy Adams as Lois, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. David Goyer (Batman Begins) is penning the script. Man of Steel is due to begin filming this fall, and is s

Christopher Meloni Joins Man OF Steel

Christopher Meloni , who a month ago surprised everyone by exiting his longtime home as co-star of NBC's Law & Order: SVU , is in line for a big-time follow-up. I hear he is in negotiations for a major role in Man Of Steel , the Superman franchise reboot from Warner Bros that Zack Snyder is directing. No word yet on what part he might get, though. He would join such big-name players as Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane in the film, which stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Justice League Movie& Batman Reinvented Films Coming In 2013?

Jeff Robinov is already thinking about DC Comics movies for 2013 and beyond, and he’s got “ Justice League ” and a reinvented Batman on his mind. The president of the Warner Bros. motion picture group, who recently sat down for an extensive interview with The Times, discussed his long-term strategy for DC beyond movies already in the works, such as June’s “ Green Lantern ” and next year’s “ The Dark Knight Rises ” and Superman movie . The first priority for the man with the ultimate say on what films get made at Warner Bros.: Finally getting the Justice League, DC’s team featuring all its top characters, on the big screen in 2013. The picture had been very close to production in late 2007 and early 2008, but was killed by the Writers Guild of America strike, tax credit issues in Australia, and concerns by some at Warner about presenting a competing (and conflicting) version of Batman while director Christopher Nolan’s films were breaking box office records. But Robinov said a n

Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane In Upcoming Superman Reboot

Amy Adams  (The Fighter)  has landed the iconic role of journalist Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Adams joins    Henry Cavill , Diane Lane and Kevin Costner on the production, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," Snyder said in a statement Sunday. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful." Adams will join Phyllis Coates, Margot Kidder and Kate Bosworth as actresses who have played the iconic Lane. Superman: Man of Steel is currently set for a December 2012 release. Zack Snyder's Man of Steel To Hold It's Own

When Bryan Singer took moviegoers to Metropolis in the 2006 film ” Superman Returns ,” he paid careful homage to the hero’s cinematic past. Don’t expect that approach from Zack Snyder , who on Wednesday shared his guiding principle: ”Respect the canon but don’t be a slave to the movies.” Snyder’s version of the Man of Steel is scheduled to reach theaters in December 2012 with Henry Cavill in the title role, and the director said that this will be the first modern Superman feature that will truly break from Richard Donner’s landmark 1978 film, which shared its star, Christopher Reeve , with three sequels and then also deeply informed Singer’s 2006 film, which put Brandon Routh in the iconic blue tights but tapped into both style and story elements from the work of Donner and Reeve. “Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there’s been no other Superman movies,” Snyder said. “If you look

Diane Lane Cast As Martha Kent In Superman Reboot

Diane Lane is an actress who has seemed perpetually 37 for about 20 years. There's a weary, sexy worldly wisdom to her that has allowed her to appeal to both men and women, either in erotic "thrillers" like "Unfaithful" or big crowd-pleasers like "Secretariat." Thirty-seven is a good age for an actress to seem; old enough to be respected, but young enough to still be attractive to all age groups. Yet the 46-year-old, onetime Oscar-nominee Lane will play Martha Kent , Superman's "mom," in the upcoming Superman reboot. She has played moms before, of course, but not mothers that have typically been portrayed as matronly rocking-chair dwellers. To be fair, with Annette O'Toole on "Smallville," Superman's adoptive parents have gotten younger in recent years; it's still rumored that Kevin Costner will play Pa Kent, after all. (Actually, that's totally not fair: Costner is 56, almost a decade older than Lane.) Lan

Viggo Mortensen To Play General Zod In Superman Reboot?

Now that British hunk Henry Cavill is set to play the Man of Steel , the search is on the fill out the rest of the cast of Warner Bros.' big-budget Superman reboot. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that producer Christopher Nolan and director Zack Snyder are zeroing in on an intriguing actor to play the villain: Viggo Mortensen . Mortensen , who is still in negotiations for Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman , is said to be at the top of the list to play General Zod , the evil and super-powered scientist who was portrayed by Terrence Stamp in 1980's Superman II. If Mortensen's Snow White deal doesn't close, that would potentially free him up to make Superman. Or Universal and Warner Bros. could work out his schedule and enable him to do both. Sources say no talks have commenced and that Mortensen is just a "person of interest," much like Kevin Costner is for the role of Jonathan Kent. The actors aren't the only ones considered for their res

Kevin Costner To Play Jonathan Kent In Superman Reboot

Deadline is reporting that there is heightened interest in Kevin Costner for a key role in the Superman reboot that is being directed by Zack Snyder for Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures. Henry Cavill was recently set in the Man of Steel role. I'm not exactly sure what role Costner is likely to play, but he has certainly been in good guy mode lately. Latinoreview is reporting that Costner will be playing Jonathan  Kent , Superman's Daddy. Beyond his performance in the John Wells-directed The Company Men , Costner surfaced as an unlikely hero in aiding the cleanup in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. British Petroleum purchased over 30 centrifuge machines which separate oil from water, technology that was developed with a reported $24 million in funding by the actor over 15 years. The Superman film is being produced by Chris Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thoma

Superman Will Be Ballsy In The Upcoming Movie

Sure Zack Snyder can bring epic comic book tales to the screen – he proved that with Watchmen and 300 – but given the level of sex and violence in the director’s output, he may not seem like the perfect choice for a character as old-fashioned and wholesome as Superman. Snyder tells SFX, the real reason he’s agreed to direct the next Superman movie – currently titled Superman: The Man of Steel – is the film’s take on the character, as conceived by the Batman creative team of David Goyer and Christopher Nolan. “My feeling about Superman is that I’ve been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, ‘What can you do with Superman in a modern world?’ And I think the amazing thing that Chris and David have created, that I’m working on now, and the reason why I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that,’ was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That’s the exciting part for me.” And just how will Snyder’s Superman differ from previous incarnations o

Exclusive Interview With Kristina Anapau, She Talks Black Swan & Superman Reboot

I had the chance to get an Exclusive Interview with Kristina Anapau last week and get some insight to how she prepared for her role in Black Swan . I also tried to twist her arm for more information about the rumors about her auditioning for the upcoming SuperMan reboot . Kristina had planned to become a classical ballerina, having trained seriously since the age of 5. But after graduating from high school at fifteen (Yes 15) she attended the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where she was discovered and cast in an Oahu-filmed television movie Escape From Atlantis; that was the start of her career. She made her rounds on to Television shows ( CSI: NY,House ) and smaller movie roles, then she was cast in Cruel Intentions 3 (Cassidy Merteuil). Next up was a staring role in the Wes Craven Horror film Cursed starring opposite Shannon Elizabeth, Jesse Eisenberg and Milo Ventimiglia. Anapau was a cover model for Stuff magazine. She was also one of Stuff magazine's "103 Sexies

Rediscovering the Essential Superman By:jonathancyfer

Rediscovering the Essential Superman By:jonathancyfer We want to welcome guest writer jonathancyfer to the site and we are looking forward to adding him to our sandwich family. In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) discussed his role as " mentor " for the upcoming Superman film reboot , scheduled for release during the 2012 holiday season. One of the most widely circulated statements made by Nolan was: "What you have to remember with both Batman and Superman, is that what makes those the best superhero characters there are, the most beloved after all this time, is the essence of who those characters were when they were created and when they were first developed. And you can't ever move too far from that." There is a tremendous amount of speculation regarding what form the new Superman film will take. Assuming that Nolan will have more than a passing amount of influence on the movie franchise's r
