New Concept Art From Captain America: The Winter Soldier

While the first Captain America was a World War II action-adventure, the new one is conceived as a 1970s-style conspiracy thriller—in tone, if not time period.

“We weren’t going back to World War II,” says Feige, especially since Chris Evans’ hero was introduced to modern times in Avengers. “Cap cannot travel in time. So while Tony can go home to Malibu and Thor goes up to Asgard and Hulk can sort of ride the rails, Cap was stuck.”

At the end of the 2011′s Captain America: The First Avenger, supersoldier Steve Rogers woke up to find he was a man out of time. Now he finds he’s also a man without a place. “So Cap does stay with S.H.I.E.L.D. because he has nowhere else to go,” Feige says. “But he’s not necessarily comfortable there. As you might imagine, somebody who’s spent 70 years in ice, frozen, wakes up and has to fight a bunch of aliens with a bunch of weirdos—he is trying to figure out what his life is.”

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo are taking over the franchise from filmmaker Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer). They’re unusual choices for the project, since they’re best known for directing TV comedies Community and Arrested Development. But Marvel doesn’t hand off its characters to just anyone, and the shows the brothers have done — while a different genre — are still among the most critically acclaimed on TV.

Winter Soldier” refers to an assassin (pictured in concept art above) who is the resurrected and brainwashed version of Captain America’s best friend Bucky (played by Sebastian Stan), who was last seen plunging off an icy train in the first movie. The bio-engineered killer was created by comics scribe Ed Brubaker in 2005, and in short order became a favorite part of Cap lore.

“Just as he’s given permission to let go of the past and to focus on the modern world… a ghost comes up,” Feige says.

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow and Jackson’s Nick Fury return for major roles in this installment, with Anthony Mackie joining the superhero squad as the high-flying hero Falcon, and Robert Redford playing S.H.I.E.L.D veteran Alexander Pierce.

His participation was part of paying homage to the ‘70s thriller vibe. “I had my first meeting with Robert Redford, and he had read the script and he goes, ‘You know I did a movie once called Three Days of Condor, and it really felt …’ And I was like [widens eyes ], ‘Uh-huh …’” Feige says with a laugh.
But all is not well between noble Cap and his S.H.I.E.L.D colleagues. “With the greatest generation in World War II, there’s a tendency to reflect on that period and say. ‘Things were black and white back then, and now it’s hard to know who the bad guys are,’” Feige says. “We wanted to play on that a little with Cap being uncomfortable with the way S.H.I.E.L.D., and in particular Nick Fury, operates.”

Just because a character has traditionally been a hero doesn’t mean Marvel won’t push the boundaries into anti-hero territory. “Fury certainly rides a line, sort of rides the shadows,” Feige says. “He has, I think, lied to every character in every movie, though always for seemingly for the good.”

IRON MAN 3 Review. It's More Than Its Previews

IRON MAN 3 Review
By: MattInRC

Summer 2013 kicks off with the excellent IRON MAN 3, a film that proves it's more than its previews.

Marvel Studios has been on a dominating roll of late. After 2012's amazing The Avengers, the studio known for Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk could have rested on their laurels, content to churn out successful but empty follow-ups (George Lucas, are you listening???). Not Marvel: it's changed the way we watch movies, now and forever. No one waited around until after the credits pre-2008 when Iron Man first debuted; now, we hope other franchises get the hint. Marvel has defined the connected universe, making each of their releases almost like essential rights of passage. Even 2010's rushed Iron Man 2 couldn't lessen demand for a super-hero mashup that put DC on suicide watch. As IRON MAN 3 soars into theaters this week, we're reminded once again of why we love this franchise and the studio who continues to take bold risks.

As billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr., Sherlock Holmes series) adjusts to life post-Avengers, his world has been turned upside down: he suffers from PTSD and anxiety attacks, trying desperately to build enough versions of Iron Man to combat every situation. His Malibu chick-pad has become a vault for dozens of armored avengers, much to the dismay of girlfriend Pepper Potts (Gweneth Paltrow, Se7en) who doesn't realize just how bad Tony's condition has become. Meanwhile, a bin Laden-esque terrorist known as The Madarin (Sir Ben Kingsley, Lucky Number Slevin) has been blowing up locations throughout America by bio-engineering unknowing Americans with the unstable concoction Extremis, searing its victims's shadows to the wall. It's an unsettling reminder of the effects of the atomic bombs of World War II, and The Mandarin uses it and the malleable media to perfection. But when his former bodyguard Happy (Jon Favereau, Swingers) is seriously wounded after an attack at Mann's Chinese Theater, Stark challenges The Mandarin, who responds by blowing up the mansion.

Left to repair his Mark 42 suit in a far-off location, Stark enlists the help of former squeeze and scientist Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall, The Town), who suspects her Stark fanboy-turned corporate mogul Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce, Lawless) is behind the attacks. Together with his old buddy James Rhodes (Don Cheadle, Ocean's Eleven) - whose War Machine has been rebranded 'Iron Patriot' - Stark must reinvent himself while keeping President Ellis (William Sadler, Shawshank Redemption) from the clutches of Killian's top assassin Savin (James Badge Dale, The Departed).

Shane Black (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) weaves a decidedly darker version of Tony Stark, as a man who's been haunted by New York and now fruitlessly toils with his machines. Black, first known in Hollywood for his writing of Lethal Weapon, teams up relative newcomer Drew Pearce to deliver a character-driven, action-packed thrillride that lets up just enough for you to catch your breath, only to plunge you back into an excellent combination of large action pieces and rising tension that would make The Dark Knight proud. Nowadays, Downey is hands-down the best part of anything he touches, and in IM3 he shines once again as the futurist out of his element. If Stark's world revolves around making cool stuff, it's Downey's performance that makes that stuff go sexy fast. Simply put, he's the fuel that makes every actor around him better. His chemistry with Paltrow has always been pitch-perfect, old couple crassness, with the result providing a welcomed dose of comedy at the right time. Cheadle finally seems comfortable in his role, in no small part to his long screen time with Downey in Act 3. Together, they feel like old friends about to be engulfed in a nasty bar brawl; yet it suits this team quite well, proving Downey's brashness and Black's style can work seamlessly. But it's also Black the writer who deftly realizes that a Stark out of water is a deeply satisfying endeavor, sending him to the far corners of Tennesee for nearly the entire second act while he repairs his damaged suit and uncovers the truth behind Extremis. Even the triumphant final act features a unique take on donning the armor, just before Black pulls the rug nearly from underneath us with a touching final few minutes.

Black has assembled the best cast of the series, allowing A+-listers Pearce and Kingsley to roam the canvas without letting their performances overshadow everyone else. Some fans of the comics might be outraged at the way which The Mandarin is portrayed, but don't let that sour your opinion of Kingsley's performance. There's a reason why he's got a 'Sir' at the beginning of his name. Pearce is a proven show-stopper, and his scenes with Downey are few but highly-effective. Composer Brian Tyler (Transformers: Prime) finally gives old Tin Head a worthy theme and lets it ride throughout the picture like the proud stallion that it is. Don't get me wrong, there's a few nagging practical issues with the film, but its story of renewal and redemption is too powerful to ignore. There's a finality here that might put-off fans hoping to see Downey in future editions; but even with his future (and contract renewal) under debate, Black does the series right by effectively tying up almost every loose end, just in case we've seen the last of Downey. IM3 isn't just about putting great people together to make a memorable film: Marvel proves once again that it's not afraid to rip up what we know about its characters to give us great cinema. In playing the resurrection card, Marvel has unapologetically reinvented the very nature of superhero films into a genre that's entertaining and simply fun to watch.
Iron Man 3 represents an unexpected opening move for Marvel's Phase Two, reinventing the genre by delivering an exciting and well-built entry to kick off Summer 2013. It proves you can make great trailers and TV spots without giving away everything. You're strongly encouraged to catch this in IMAX or at least pony up the extra cash for better sound. And while not perfect, it will more than satisfy, proving Marvel's heart is really a Tony Stark Arc Reactor. Iron Man 3 is rated PG-13 for adult situations and has a runtime of 130 minutes.

Daniel Radcliffe Is Set For Tokyo Vice

Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in Tokyo Vice, a thriller that music video and commercials director Anthony Mandler will direct from a script by playwright JT Rogers. Le Grisbi Productions’ John Lesher and Adam Kassan are producing, and production will start early 2014. Radcliffe will play American reporter Jake Adelstein who, while working at the Yomiuri Shinbun newspaper in Tokyo, covered the crime beat and locked horns with yakuza boss Tadamasa Goto, called the “John Gotti of Japan.

The film is based on Adelstein’s memoir detailing how the journalist’s investigating and finally exposing the notorious gangster exacted a high personal cost and sacrifice which included death threats. Adelstein, who will be working with Rogers on the story, is still an investigative reporter who writes for The Daily Beast, The Japan Times, The Atlantic Wire, and is an adviser to Polaris Japan, a non-profit group that combats human trafficking. His second book, The Last Yakuza, will be published next year by Pantheon.

Since graduating from Hogwarts and the Harry Potter series, Radcliffe has been busy. He followed The Woman In Black and Sundance pic Kill Your Darlings with the recently wrapped horror film Horns, the romantic comedy The F Word, and he has just signed on to star in Frankenstein for Fox and Davis Entertainment. Radcliffe this June returns to the West End stage in Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple Of Inishmaan. Mandler has helmed vids with Rihanna, Jay-Z, The Killers, and Lana Del Rey. He’s attached to Vlad for Summit/Lionsgate, and Last Days Of American Crime with Oblivion producer Radical Studios. Rogers’ plays include Blood And Gifts, which played London’s National Theatre and Lincoln Center, and The Overwhelming, which also played both sides of the pond. He shared an Olivier Award nom in 2009 for Great Game: Afghanistan.

Lesher, who produced End Of Watch, is in the midst of David Ayer’s follow-up to that film, Fury, the WWII tank battle pic that stars Brad Pitt. He also produced Guillaume Canet’s English-language debut Blood Ties, which premieres at Cannes, and he’s currently in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed Birdman and is about to start Black Mass, the Barry Levinson-directed crime saga that will star Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger.

Oi, Kal-El! Clark Kent! Superbloke! Whatever your name is… A word in your Kryptonian shell-like if we might: flying at incredible speeds with your mouth slightly open is a recipe for disaster. Actually, it’s a recipe for bugs and possibly seagulls getting sucked into your gob, and no one wants their superhero to be coughing as they land to stop evildoers. Just trying to be helpful as your new poster arrives, okay?

But yes, slightly cracked mush (he probably has some super-powered force thing going on to avoid bug splatter) aside, Henry Cavill is looking every inch the hero in the new one-sheet for Man Of Steel. As we draw ever nearer to the release for Zack Snyder’s take on the world’s most iconic comic book character, the promotion has still been fairly reserved (compared to, say, the barrage of promotion for other blockbusters).

The story remains mostly the same (albeit tweaked by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer): Kal-El is sent to Earth and adopted by wholesome, humane farm folk Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane) Kent. There, he assumes the identity of Clark Kent and struggles to blend in with humanity while dealing with the fact that he’s a god amongst ants.

Then General Zod (Michael Shannon) shows up, demanding that Kal-El pledge allegiance to him lest he start destroying this planet that his fellow Kryptonian has come to love and cherish. And that’s without investigative journalist Lois Lane (Amy Adams) nosing around this remarkable mystery man.

Lily Collins In Talks To Star In Pride Prejudice & Zombies

Just like its main antagonists, “Pride Prejudice and Zombies” is a film that refuses to die, and looks like it may have risen again from the dead.

Burr Steers is on board to direct with Lily Collins in negotiations to star in the adaptation of Seth Grahame Smith’s mash-up of the literary classic.

The book follows the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England who are faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies. Collins would play the Elizabeth Bennet character.

Darko Entertainment and Panorama Media are producing with Panorama funding.

Natalie Portman and Annette Savitch of Handsomecharlie films, Sean McKittrick of Darko Entertainment and Allison Shearmur of Allison Shearmur Productions are producing.

The project has been in development for some time, with David O. Russell eyed to direct, Portman starring and Lionsgate distributing. But the script took too long to develop the proper tone, leading to Russell and Portman exiting because of scheduling conflicts.

After those two left, the film never found its footing, though directors such as Mike White and Craig Gillespie were attached and eventually left.

The film was in the middle of development when another mash-up, “Cowboys and Aliens,” came out and disappointed at the box office, and sources said that film’s failure may have scared principals away from another pricey pic in a similar genre. But the hiring of Steers shows there is still a strong desire to make the film, especially given the ongoing appeal of zombies.

Russell wrote the initial draft and it is unknown if further work will be done on it.

With a director locked in and a femme star lined up, the film seems to be finally getting closer to liftoff.

Los Angeles, CA (May 2nd, 2013) – Foresight Unlimited (Foresight) has come aboard to produce, finance, and handle worldwide sales on the epic biopic SPINNING GOLD written by Timothy Scott Bogart. Emmy® and Grammy Award®-winning Renaissance man Justin Timberlake (THE SOCIAL NETWORK, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS) will take on the lead role of the famous 1970s record icon Neil Bogart.

Bogart, a legendary music business entrepreneur, is credited with discovering, launching and nurturing the careers of a generation of music superstars during the 60’s and 70’s including Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer and The Village People among many others. Featuring some of the most iconic music of the era, SPINNING GOLD tells the rags-to-riches story of a poor kid from Brooklyn who went on to become the man who defined the pop music culture of his time. Neil Bogart died prematurely in 1982 at age 39.

Foresight’s CEO Mark Damon will produce the film alongside Timberlake, Academy Award nominated Laurence Mark (DREAMGIRLS, JERRY MAGUIRE) and Boardwalk Entertainment’s Timothy Scott Bogart and Gary A. Randall. Joyce Bogart-Trabulus is executive producing along with Foresight’s President, Tamara Birkemoe and Envision Entertainment’s Remington Chase, Stepan Martirosyan and Vitaly Grigoriants.

The film is set to start shooting early next year. RCA Records will also partner on the project and will release the movie’s soundtrack.

With a soundtrack including generation-defining music of the 60’s and 70’s that will be re-imagined by some of today’s most influential artists, SPINNING GOLD will not only be a global movie event, but a major music event as well.

“We are thrilled to partner on this iconic music tale that transcends popular culture,” said Tom Corson, President & COO of RCA Records. “Our passion for this project will serve to help propel SPINNING GOLD to reach millions of music lovers around the world.”

SPINNING GOLD is written by Bogart’s son, Timothy Scott Bogart, who developed the script with Timberlake. With further casting currently underway, Damon and Birkemoe will introduce the highly anticipated film to overseas buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Market. Timberlake will be attending Cannes to promote the film to international buyers and will co-host a private event on the Croisette for distributors with his fellow producers.

“SPINNING GOLD is about a larger than life man who achieved so much in his short life and helped define a generation,” said Damon. “And with some of the music industry’s luminary artists lining up to join Justin in telling Neil’s incredible life story, the film is going to be a wild, music extravaganza that will light up the screen. And I also have a personal interest in bringing Neil’s story to the screen, as I started my career working with Neil at Casablanca Records And Filmworks,” he continued.

“For over thirty years my father’s story has been the source of intense fascination,” said Timothy Scott Bogart. “The wait to finally tell the story had always been about partnering with the right person to play him – and that wait ended the first time Justin and I ever met. Justin Timberlake is the greatest entertainer of his generation – having him play my father, who was the ultimate entertainer of his generation, just seems like it was always meant to be.”

One of today’s most successful recording artists, Timberlake’s work has earned him six Grammy Awards and four Emmy Awards. As an actor, Timberlake has starred in such acclaimed films as the Academy Award®-nominated THE SOCIAL NETWORK as well as hit movies including FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, BAD TEACHER and TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE.

“Neil Bogart was a fascinating individual whose vision, drive and passion brought us some of the most influential music of our time,” says Timberlake. “I am proud to be part of this project to bring this incredible life story to the screen.”

Win Tickets To An Advance Screening For THE ICEMAN In San Francisco

Win your tickets to see an advance screening for THE ICEMAN! The screening is on May 13th @ 7 PM San Francisco.

In case you haven’t been following the film’s slow-cooked development, no, THE ICEMAN is not the continuing adventures of Val Kilmer’s narky pilot from Top Gun. It is, in fact, the strange-but-true story of mob assassin Richard Kuklinski.

Shannon plays Kuklinski, a man who led a strictly separate double life. To his wife Deborah (Winona Ryder), he was a loving, attentive family man and business type who was gainfully employed. But his other existence was something quite different: he specialised in untraceable killings and got his nickname thanks to his habit of freezing his victims post mortem to keep them from the prying detection of the police and forensics investigators.

Chris Evans is co-starring as Robert Pronge, who helped teach Kuklinski the ways of the assassin, with Ray Liotta as a mob boss. Ariel Vroman is the director and co-writer who dragged this one to the screen based on Anthony Bruno’s book The Iceman: The True Story Of A Cold-Blooded Killer and filmed interviews conducted with those who knew Kuklinski.

Vince Vaughn Is Taking A Business Trip

After directing Vince Vaughn as a sperm-prolific donor who fathers hundreds of kids in the upcoming DreamWorks comedy Delivery Man, Ken Scott is in early talks to once again team with Vaughn. He’s in talks to helm Business Trip, a Steve Conrad-scripted comedy that New Regency is financing and will distribute worldwide through Fox.

HISTORY'S TOP SHOT Returns May 29th

HISTORY® invites the best of the best back for a second shot at redemption in the ultimate showdown…

Season Five of the Competition Series Returns on Wednesday, May 29 at 10pm ET

Hosted by Colby Donaldson

New twists, fiercer competition, and bigger prizes lie ahead for 16 master marksmen vying for another chance at bragging rights in the fifth season of HISTORY’s hit competition series, TOP SHOT.

In TOP SHOT ALL-STARS, premiering Wednesday, May 29 at 10pm ET on HISTORY, elite sharp-shooters from previous seasons face off in the most explosive season yet. This time, it’s all about skill. No teams. No nomination range. Politics and alliances are a thing of the past. Competitors will also face a brand new high-stakes challenge: “The Proving Ground.”

Ranging from 24 to 53 years old, the 16 shooters come from all walks of life. The group includes: a federal police officer who served with the Air Force in Operation Iraqi Freedom; the first female member of the Venezuelan Olympic Shooting Team; a video producer who taught himself to build and shoot weapons; a Homeland Security agent; a construction worker who holds 26 state titles; a plumber who graduated at the top of his class at the Marine Corps Sniping School; and the NRA’s 11-time pistol champ.

Returning TOP SHOT champions Iain Harrison, Chris Reed, Dustin Ellerman and Chris Cheng will also take part in the All-Star season. Colby Donaldson returns as host of the elimination series.

Season five comes fully loaded with formidable history-inspired challenges and an incredible array of weapons. The first episode calls for mastery of a Soviet semi-automatic rifle used in the 1941 Nazi invasion, a Tactical OBR with 20 round magazines, the Milkor M32A1 grenade launcher and an FN-FAL self-loading selective fire battle rifle, popular among NATO troops. In addition, competitors must conquer a mortar-rigged barbed wire fence, an unstable platform, and a bull’s eye target where elimination is just a fraction of an inch away.

Challenge winners will receive coveted prizes, such as sporting equipment and Bass Pro Shops gift cards. But only one TOP SHOT All-Star will take home the Grand Prize – $100,000 and a TOP SHOT special edition Tahoe Q5i Speedboat, provided by Bass Pro Shops.

Coinciding with the return of the new season, HISTORY is updating the TOP SHOT Facebook game, which originally launched in February 2012. Reaching over 2½ million players to date and logging over 6 billion minutes of play time, the game will receive some much anticipated enhancements, including a fun new adventure mode, all-new challenges, and the ability to play against friends through duels or live multi-player action. The game can be found online at: playtopshot.com

TOP SHOT, the paperback book, was published in November 2012 and can be purchased on history.com/shop. The book contains info on the history of sharpshooting, what it takes to be a master gunfighter, facts and anecdotes about the past contestants throughout the years, behind-the-scenes stories about how TOP SHOT was created and much more.

TOP SHOT is produced for HISTORY by Pilgrim Studios. Executive Producers for HISTORY are Zachary Behr and Wendy Greene. Craig Piligian, Ralph Wikke and Mitch Rosa are Executive Producers for Pilgrim Studios.

(Season 5)

Age: 47
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
Occupation: Construction Project Manager
He calls himself the "The Last Great American Hero" – just an everyday family man who happens to have exceptional shooting skills. A former Marine rifle expert nicknamed "Bam-Bam," Adam is currently a USPSA Master Class shooter competing in both pistol and three-gun events. An accomplished hunter with archery and muzzleloader, Adam has also designed and built catapults for pumpkin-throwing competitions. In season 1 of Top Shot, Adam was eliminated following the dissolution of teams in the “Shoot From Above” challenge, just shy of making the finale. Since leaving Top Shot, Adam has continued to shoot with his local SWAT team and has found a true passion in bow hunting.

Age: 39
Hometown: Conifer, CO
Occupation: Engineer
As an engineer, Alex can understand and adapt to the intricacies of almost any weapons system. “I like to shoot because I like the mechanics of it,” he says. “It’s like a big puzzle.” His passion for shooting runs so deep that his oldest daughter is named after Annie Oakley. A country boy at heart, Alex lives with his family out in the woods and doesn’t have cable, so he’d never seen a single episode of Top Shot. On season 3, he just missed making the finale when he was eliminated in the “Pull Back” challenge. But Alex doesn’t need to know what’s in store to have faith that he’ll shine. He believes his ROTC background and hunting experience give him an edge over the competition. Post-Top Shot, Alex has competed in a 3-Gun match, became a 4H-shooting instructor and started engineering gun ranges.

He is also an attorney and executive of an offshore marine transportation company and a bulk fuel/oil distributorship. Eliminated just before the season 1 finale, Blake met his demise in the “Short Fuse” challenge with the Beretta 92F. Blake continues to compete competitively and in October 2011, he represented Team USA and won Gold at the World Championship in Rhodes, Greece.

Age: 44
Hometown: Girard, OH
Occupation: Independent security contractor
Brian is best known for two things: his giant grin and being the NRA's 11-time National Pistol Champ. He's not afraid to boast that no one has ever been a seven- eight- or nine-time champ either. Brian became a shooter for the Marine Corps pistol team and hasn't stopped competitive shooting since. Having set numerous national records in the NRA, it's no surprise that Brian loves the challenge of a good competition. In the second season of Top Shot, he made it down to the final two before being eliminated. Now retired from the Marine Corps and working as an independent security contractor, he is excited to be competing as a civilian. He believes that he has the skills to go pro and wants the opportunity to prove it.

Age: 24
Hometown: San Gabriel, CA
Occupation: Range Master
Chee knows the value of hard work. A 24-year-old range master for the L.A. Gun Club, Chee and his mother arrived in the United States from Malaysia with only a couple hundred dollars and the clothes on their backs. "I'm here so that I can win this competition for my mother and show her that she's raised a good son," he explains. Chee became interested in recreational shooting and joined the Marines, where he became one of the best infantrymen in his battalion. Now, he's a three-time rifle and pistol expert who is proud to earn his living as a California state-certified firearms instructor and NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. In season 4, Chee had almost made it to the end of the competition when he was eliminated in the “Back Alley Breach” challenge. After Top Shot, Chee became a Ranked Master in Stock Division of IPDA, has won 2 regional championships, became ranked A-class in USPSA and won 3rd overall in production at California Sectional.

A self-described "can-do person," Chris sets out to master any weapon he can get his hands on. In season 1, he made it all the way to the finale before losing the title to Iain Harrison. Since leaving Top Shot, Chris started his own training business and travels the country training firearms use in addition to his job as a part-time police officer, where he has over 18 years of law enforcement experience. Chris took 2nd place in the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association in Chicago. He is experienced with compound bows, crossbows, and slingshots and has also begun shooting competitively on a professional team.

Age: 32
Hometown: Doral, FL
Occupation: Firearms Instructor/Business Owner
Gabby doesn’t like losing, but luckily she's got the skills to lead her to victory. At the age of 19, she was the first female to make the Venezuelan Olympic Shooting Team and represent her country at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She took silver at the Pan American Games in 1999 and the gold at the South American Games in 2000. In her last international competition, the 2002 South American Games, she took three gold medals. After moving to the United States, Gabby began competing in tactical and IPSC competitions. After being eliminated in season 4 in the “1500 Yard Shot” challenge, Gabby is back to try and win on this season of Top Shot All-Stars.

Aside from his wife and three kids, Gary is proudest of becoming a Triple Nickel coin holder. In season 3 of Top Shot, he made it to final three in the classic “Choose Your Weapon” challenge before being eliminated. Now a Homeland Security Agent, Gary served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and was part of the Special Ops Response Team for the Bureau of Prisons. He loves competition so much that he and his pals use target shoots to settle disputes. Gary was recently selected as one of Cleveland’s Most Interesting People in 2012.

Hometown: Waterloo, IL
Occupation: Federal Police Officer
At 6 feet 5 inches, the irony of Gregory’s last name is not lost on him. Called L.J. by his coworkers, Gregory is a federal police officer with over nine years of USAF military experience. He served three years in the Air Force Security Forces and six years as a weapons instructor, and is a veteran of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Shooting competitively with the Air Force, he served on two separate teams and was the World Champion Grenadier in 2003. In an IPSC competition, he placed 2nd in the open class with a 9mm Beretta. This father of two young children was taught to shoot by his own dad. Since finishing as the runner up on Top Shot season 4, Greg has been shooting in lots of USPSA matches, winning a steel challenge Pro-Am among other small local matches. During various overseas deployments, he was hand-selected for personal security details in high-threat areas. Jamie admits there is usually "no filter between my brain and my mouth" and wants to prove that he's the pride of the Navy. In season 2, the “On the Move” challenge cost Jamie his chance at the title in the episode immediately prior to the finale. After leaving the competition, Jamie became EODMU3SAILOR of the year 2010 and has competed in the 3 Gun National Semi Pro Series where he has had an impressive record, winning one match and finishing among the top 5 six times and among the top 10 seven times.

Occupation: Construction worker
Joe is an expert archer who holds 26 state championship titles in six states. But this marksman knows his guns too. He is a qualified expert with both the M16 and Berretta 9mm pistols, and has experience with rifles, shotguns, machine guns, slug guns and muzzleloaders. With many shooting awards to his name, it's hard to argue when he says, "When I shoot, I shoot to win." Since finishing 3rd on Top Shot season 2, Joe has been hunting and shooting recreationally.

Age: 25

Occupation: Electrical Engineer
Kelly is a rising star in the long-range shooting world. In season 1, he and fellow competitor Adam Benson were eliminated in the “Shoot From Above” challenge right before the finale. Peter collects historic and practical weapons of all kinds and loves to make potato guns out of PVC pipe. In his free time, he also serves as mascot of a roller derby team. Peter made it to the final four on season 1, but was eliminated in the “Speedster” challenge. Since his season of Top Shot, Peter has moved to Louisiana and enrolled in college.

Age: 26
Hometown: Milford, MI
Occupation: Video Producer
If you’re tempted to write Phil off as just some young guy from the country, be warned that this self-taught shooter is here to compete. What started out as a hobby for a 7 year old boy has evolved into a true passion; inspiring Phil to build, modify and shoot firearms in his spare time. He considers himself an expert shot with assault rifles, semiautomatic rifles and shotguns. Hoping to pursue a career in the military, Phil trains and exercises five days a week. “Shooting has nothing to do with your credentials,” he says. “If you pick up a gun and you’re good at it, it can take you anywhere. And I’ll be proof of that.” The Sako Trg Bolt Action Rifle sent him home late in season 3 during the “Zig Zag” challenge.

Age: 48
Hometown: Fredericksburg, VA
Occupation: FBI Law Enforcement Specialist
William has done so much in his life that it's hard to keep track. A former Marine and ex-Virginia state trooper with national and state 3-gun championships under his belt, he now serves as a firearms instructor for the FBI. This sharpshooter also works as a real estate agent, is a deacon in his church and rebuilds classic Corvettes on the side. William spent 11 years on the Marine Corps Shooting Team, where he also coached. In 1994 he won the coveted Gold Lauchheimer Trophy, awarded each year to the top rifle and pistol shooter in the entire Corps. He is currently the FBI shooting team national record holder in 3-gun. To top it all off, he also shoots Olympic-style compound bows - but he just does it for fun in what little spare time he has. In season 4, the Henry Rifle sealed his fate in the “Not Just the Bull’s Eye” challenge. After finishing Top Shot, William has competed in the 2012 Camp Perry National Pistol Championship where his team finished 3rd.
