Lego Movie Duo Directing Han Solo Star Wars Spin-Off

The space smuggler’s past will be explored. By Brandon Wolfe Phil Lord and Christopher Miller , those miracle workers behind The Lego Movie and the Jump Street films, will next go to work on a project that, unlike their previous feats, no one will initially dismiss as a bad, unworkable idea. The duo will direct a Star Wars anthology spin-off centering around none other than rakish space pirate Han Solo , iconically portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars trilogy (and to be reprised in this December’s The Force Awakens ). Famed Empire Strikes Back writer Lawrence Kasdan (who also worked on the scripts for Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens ) will script the film along with his son, Jon Kasdan. The film, to be released May 25, 2018, will tell the tale of a young Solo in the years before he crossed paths with Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance. Lord and Miller said in a joint statement, “This is the first film we’ve worked on that seems like a goo
