South Park's Stan Gets Sucked Into The World Of Tron Through Facebook

South Park's Stan Gets Sucked Into The World Of Tron Through Facebook
Comedy Central's South Park did a great job on the parody of Tron in the most recent episode.  And also added some Facebook humor into the show.

In the episode, Stan Marsh gets Kevin Flynn'd by Facebook's MCP, forcing him onto the virtual "game grid," where he has to compete at ... Yahtzee.

Carl Erik Rinsch's "The Gift" Bidding War Has Begun

Carl Erik Rinsch's "The Gift" Bidding War Has Begun
Here is an amazing video by Carl Erik Rinsch, he took part in electronic giant Phillips' short-film experiment, which allowed five filmmakers to make their own movie using the same piece of dialogue.  The video does start off slow but be patient you will be rewarded.

Rinsch came up with "The Gift," a melange of Bourne-with-a-robot, a unicorn Macguffin and a futuristic Moscow-as-police-state setting (oh, wait, that is already here).

On Wednesday, the day the short came out, a bidding war broke out between several studios -- longtime rivals Warner Bros. and Fox are in the mix, according to sources -- who see feature potential in the short.

The trajectory of this dazzling piece of sci-fi filmmaking recalls what happened with Neill Blomkamp's Alive in JoBurg, which became District 9, and Panic Attack!, which is now on its way to the big screen as a movie. The difference is that The Gift appears to be the…

Taylor Kitsch To Set Sail In A Battleship

Taylor Kitsch To Set Sail In A Battleship
Taylor Kitsch, will play the lead in the upcoming adaptation of the Hasbro board game "Battleship."  Kitsch would be playing a Naval commander named Alex Hopper, described as "wildly spirited" and "a great seaman but a lousy politician."

Pete Berg is directing the action adventure movie, whose story has drawn heat from some quarters for adding an "alien invasion" element to what has been traditionally seen as a grounded Naval game.

A little about  Kitsch he was a key actor in TV's "Friday Night Lights" to playing superhero Gambit in "Wolverine."

Iron Man 2 AccuTech And Letter From Tony Starks
The Iron Man 2 viral marketing is in full effect now with the movie coming out in less than a month.  There are a few thing worth checking out.

A new site just launched for AccuTech. Once a small California -based research and development firm founded by then CEO Gilbert O’Connor, we have grown to become an international knowledge-based group with 4,800 employees in over 30 countries. , which is also a subsidiary of Stark Industries. AccuTech is working on a breakthrough in anthropo-robotics, and the new HazTech robotic exoskeleton.

Now check out the logo for AccuTech and tell me that doesn't look familiar. Bleeding Cool points out that the slope of the “A” resembles the Avengers logo that we've seen in the comic books. I guess it's possible that Accutech is going to provide the tech, funding and organization for the Avengers, in the process adopting a very simil…

Mark Strong Talks Sinestro In The Green Lantern

Mark Strong Talks Sinestro In The Green Lantern
Mark Strong has been on fire as a go to villain for every film. From Sherlock Holmes to the upcoming film Kick-Ass.

There are a huge group of fans that are excited to finally see Green Lantern coming to the big screen and you can put my name on that list.  Mark spoke to USA Weekend about his role in the upcoming film.  Not a hole lot was said but if you are a fan of Green Lantern then you pretty much know what kind of villain he is.

What Strong could tell us:
For anybody who’s familiar with the Green Lantern and the origin story, the film closely follows the early comics. Sinestro starts out as Hal Jordan’s mentor, slightly suspicious and not sure of him because obviously Hal is the first human being who’s made into a Green Lantern. He’s certainly very strict and certainly unsure of the wisdom of Hal becoming a Green Lantern. He is a military guy but isn’t immediately bad. It’s the kind of person he is that lends himself to becoming bad…

Chuck Cast Interviews Part Two Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez And Adam Baldwin

Chuck Cast Interviews Part Two Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez And Adam Baldwin
At Wonder Con this past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Chuck round table interview session. This is part two of my interviews with the cast of the NBC show Chuck. To read part one of my interview with Chris Fedak And Josh Schwartz click Here. If you have ever attend one of these things then you know how crazy and fast pace they are.  You have to be brave and just ask your questions without hesitation and that is what I did. I had the opportunity to talk to the stars of the show Zachary Levi (Chuck), Joshua Gomez (Morgan) And Adam Baldwin (KC). This is my second interview with Zachary Levi, I had gotten the chance to ask him a few things at last years Comic Con.

Once the cast took their seats every reporter put out out their tape recording devices near the actors. Joshua ask everyone "Where are the ipads?" Zachary said  "Apparently no one lined up to go get one." And the entire t…

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Has Sunk Its Teeth Into A Director?

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Has Sunk Its Teeth Into A Director?
Has Summit entertainment found it's director for the upcoming film Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn? We are told that there is a strong chance that Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters director Bill Condon is the front runner for the directing chair. Condon was among a list of A-list directors approved by Summit and Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. That list included Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola and Fernando Meirelles.  And if Summit wanted a big time director then they just might have found their man.

There is talk that  Breaking Dawn will begin shooting will begin in the fall, and I heard the plan is to shoot two films back to back. The Twilight job came open when The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz decided not to reprise, despite directing a film that grossed $707 million worldwide., almost doubling the Catherine Hardwicke-directed original's $385 million worldwide gross.

Hollywood hasn't given …

Tony Scott's Next Film To Star Statham, Bardem And Rourke

Tony Scott's Next Film To Star Statham, Bardem And Rourke
Tony Scott next films is shaping up to be Potzdamer Platz,  the title refers to a train station and bustling commerce center in Germany. I am sure before the production date of this film, the title will change.

The cast that he has lined up for this film is shaping up pretty nice. He has Javier Bardem, Jason Statham and Mickey Rourke on board.  And we are told he is trying to get Gene Hackman into starring. A insider has told deadline that's not going to happen. Hackman who last starred in 2004’s Welcome to Mooseport—is content writing books and narrating commercials for Home Depot and isn’t eager to return to the screen.

The film is about  two soldiers in a New Jersey-based crime family who try to expand internationally.

Scott and his Scott Free banner have been working on Potzdamer Platz since the script was acquired in 2000. The script by Buddy Giovinazzo has been rewritten by the Sexy Beast team of David Scinto …

Starz's "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" Keeping It's Viewers

Starz's "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" Keeping It's Viewers
If you haven't seen this show then you are missing out on one of the best shows on TV right now. The series focuses on the historical figure of Spartacus (played by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BC led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus' obscure early life leading to the records of history.

Several of cable's big-ticket midseason shows are getting a lukewarm response from viewers, but there's at least one new series demonstrating growth potential.

Among the current field of major scripted projects on cable -- including Syfy's "Caprica," AMC's "Breaking Bad" and TNT's "SouthlandSouthland" -- it's the ratings for Starz's "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" that buck the trend. Though the drama has a m…

“Tron Legacy” To Get A Sequel

“Tron Legacy” To Get A Sequel
The film isn't even out until December of this year, but we got word that Disney already is putting a sequel on fast track.

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the “Lost” writers/co-executive producers who worked on “Legacy,” have begun writing a sequel to the studio’s sci-fi tentpole.

No details have been released because it is so early in the process. Notwithstanding the question of whether the movie will be a hit, other topics to ponder are whether the sequel will focus on spinoff characters or center on a new adventure set in the “Tron” world. Insiders have suggested that Kitsis and Horowitz are working on a way to round the story into a trilogy.

No deals have been made with “Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski or cast members to return, though options were placed in the original deals, and Disney surely would hope to reunite all the elements if “Legacy” proves to be a hit.

National Treasure 3 Is Going To Happen

National Treasure 3 Is Going To Happen
We got word from the good guy's over at comingsoon that there will be a third National Treasure film. Well why not with the success of the first two movies ($800m worldwide box office receipts ) Jerry Bruckheimer is keen to go, Nicolas Cage presumably likewise, and they have discovered that Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro are at work, right now, on the script.

Bernard and Miro both wrote Prince of Persia and The Sorceror's Apprentice Which stars Cage and directed by John Turteltaub, who made both National Treasure films. We haven't gotten any word yet if the original cast would be making a return, which I think that they would. With a family atmosphere and a decent payday might suggest the odds are on "yes".

Harrison Ford To Join Cowboys & Aliens?

Harrison Ford Joining Cowboys & Aliens?
Latino Review claims that Harrison Ford maybe joining the cast of the upcoming Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens.

Jon Favreau himself posted the following on Twitter this evening...

"Some very cool Cowboys & Aliens casting news coming soon..."
If true, the sci-fi spaghetti Western would be Ford's first foray into comic-book movies. Based on Scott Mitchell Rosenberg's graphic novel, Cowboys & Aliens is set in a Wild West made even 200% wilder by the presence of extra-terrestrials who enslave humans and slug it out with a united force of cowboys and Apache warriors.

Hypothetically, of course, Ford would be joining up with Daniel Craig, who stepped into the role of gunslinger Zeke Jackson when Robert Downey Jr. pulled out. It's a grizzled-faced pairing to scare the hell out of any alien with a pulse.

Late last week before the holiday break I got a tip from a source that Harrison Ford was about to join a huge …

Real Genius Getting Remade?

Real Genius Getting Remade?
Why do people in Hollywood think it is a good idea to remake some of the best classic movies I grew up with? Maybe they want to introduce the movies to the younger generation, I can understand that, let them watch the original movie then.  Isn't anything sacred anymore.

The original film starred Val Kilmer Chris Knight. Pajiba is reporting that their Hollywood source Imagine Entertainment (yes, that’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer) have now targeted the movie as a likely candidate.

The 1985 original, which despite a low box office result, remains a beloved cult comedy,  starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret. The film is set on the campus of "Pacific Tech", a fictitious technical university in the US based on Caltech. Chris Knight (Kilmer) is a genius in his senior year working on a chemical laser. He came to the university as a somber, assiduous student but mellowed over time after deciding that there is more to life than just work. Mitch Tayl…

Red Sonja Film Rose McGowan Out Megan Fox In?

Red Sonja Film Rose McGowan Out Megan Fox In?
There’s been a lot of intrigue surrounding the Robert Rodriquez-produced remake of Red Sonja, especially after its apparent lead, Rose McGowan, was cast in Conan the Barbarian, making the expected Red Sonja cameo in Conan all but impossible. This, of course, comes on the heels of a huge delay of Red Sonja, for reasons not entirely explained by Robert Rodriguez last month at SXSW. He told MTV:

“If I kept the project myself, we could’ve just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems,” said Rodriguez of what’s been holding up Red Sonja. “They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first,” he explained. “They’re actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that - to see how that works for them.”
That is probably all very true, but it’s not the entire story, according to our insider source, The Hollywood Cog. The broader truth, it seems, is that the previous incarnation of the Red So…

Tron Legacy Encom Press Conference At Wonder Con

Encom Press Conference At Wonder Con
This was the event that I went down on Friday to Wonder Con for.  The sole purpose of my trip that day was to experience this event first hand and not have to read about it somewhere else.

We all knew that the Newly-minted Executive Consultant Alan Bradley was going to introduce the latest addition to the Encom International product library on April 2 in San Francisco.

But before that there was a secret meeting by the group that runs Flynn Lives which I attended.  They explained how they were going to over take the press conference and demanded that Encom re-instate the search for Kevin Flynn.

During the press conference Alan Bradley came out to a crowd of cheering fans, he also brought out Lora Baines, who you all should now from the original Tron film is played by Cindy Morgan. After a quick kiss and a thank you Alan goes back on with his speech.

He let the crowd know that Encom would be re-releasing Space Paranoids, and that the 15 unreleased lev…
