BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Red Sonja Film Rose McGowan Out Megan Fox In?

Red Sonja Film Rose McGowan Out Megan Fox In?

There’s been a lot of intrigue surrounding the Robert Rodriquez-produced remake of Red Sonja, especially after its apparent lead, Rose McGowan, was cast in Conan the Barbarian, making the expected Red Sonja cameo in Conan all but impossible. This, of course, comes on the heels of a huge delay of Red Sonja, for reasons not entirely explained by Robert Rodriguez last month at SXSW. He told MTV:

“If I kept the project myself, we could’ve just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems,” said Rodriguez of what’s been holding up Red Sonja. “They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first,” he explained. “They’re actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that - to see how that works for them.”

That is probably all very true, but it’s not the entire story, according to our insider source, The Hollywood Cog. The broader truth, it seems, is that the previous incarnation of the Red Sonja remake has been scrapped, as some have already speculated. Rose McGowan is off. In fact, it seems that director, Douglas Aarniokoski, is also off the project, and Millennium Films is searching for another writer, someone to take another pass at David N. White’s script. But the project is far from dead.

The potentially bigger news, here, however, is that not only is Rose McGowan out, but right now, there’s an offer out to another actress to take the role. That actress? Megan Fox.

Whether she takes the offer or not is still up in the air. Whether she should isn’t. Given the story — this version is an origins story about an innocent teenager who metamorphosizes into an unparalleled warrior — Fox is more age-appropriate than McGowan, and let’s be honest: Fox hasn’t succeeded outside of Transformers, and she needs this sort of action-franchise — that relies more on marketing than on talent — to keep her career momentum going.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
