BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

X-Men spin-off, New Mutants Is Gaining Steam

It may come as a shock to many, but there are still some mutants that have not yet made it to the big screen: Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod’s X-Men spin-off, New Mutants , being one of them. The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone has been on board to helm New Mutants for a while, and has now brought some more Faults alumni into the X-world. Its screenwriting team Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber will be penning 20th Century Fox’s upcoming super-spin-off about the young bunch of ragtag mutants trained by (at different points over the comic's 1983-1991 run) Cable, Magneto and Professor X. Neustadter and Weber are an inspired choice for the material, having connected with many a young cinemagoer thanks to their work on (500) Days Of Summer, Paper Towns and The Spectacular Now . They also have the upcoming James Franco-directed The Masterpiece on their slate: a behind-the-scenes look at Tommy Wiseau’s cult classic, The Room. Simon Kinberg is back on producing duties, b

Josh Boone Will Direct & Write The New Mutants

EW is reporting that The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone will co-write and direct The New Mutants , an expansion of the X-Men universe for Fox. Boone, a longtime comic-book fan, pitched the film along with a new comic-book for the series, and sources familiar with the project say the film will be based on the 1980s run of the Marvel comic, and that tonally it will be—”John Hughes meets Stephen King”—leaning towards horror and the supernatural. Knate Gwaltney will co-write the script. Producer Simon Kinberg told Deadline, which broke the story, “We’re so excited to explore this part of the X-Men universe, and so excited to do it with Josh, who is uniquely suited to tell this story about young characters.” Please Leave A Comment-

The Fault In Our Stars Rules The Box Office

It was a battle of romance vs. sci-fi this weekend at the American box office, and love really did conquer all, as The Fault In Our Stars soundly trounced Edge Of Tomorrow in the quest for the top of the charts. With Fault novel writer John Green’s impressive social media following and the presence of rising star Shailene Woodley in the lead driving interest, The Fault In Our Stars drew fans of the book and the actress in droves, front-loading attendance for a result of $48.2 million this first weekend alone. That means the movie has already taken in four times the amount it cost to make, and shows no sign of slowing down despite a drop between Friday and Saturday, with audiences giving it a healthy thumbs up, which indicates it’ll have positive word of mouth appeal. It’s also yet more clear proof that films driven by women in front of the camera and in the audience can be hugely successful, especially when you consider that Fault deposed Angelina Jolie and Maleficent from the
