BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#PacificRim2 May Not Happen Now

According to THR  Legendary wanted to produce a sequel to del Toro's  Pacific Rim , which was made under the Warners deal and turned into one of those films that grosses a lot ($411 million worldwide) while being so costly that a follow-up isn't a sure thing. Sources say Legendary liked that the original performed exceptionally well in China, where the company is heavily invested, but for now the project — which had been ramping up to make a release date in August 2017 — has been halted indefinitely and will be pushed back (if it gets made at all). Universal Pictures' decision last week to let Thomas Tull's Legendary Pictures take its Kong: Skull Island project to Warner Bros. in the midst of a five-year production and financing deal is being read as a symptom of relationship trouble between the companies. Several sources say there has been strain, in part because Tull kicked off the deal in 2014 with a couple of clunkers that he put through Universal's dist

Charlie Hunnam To Star In A Prayer Before Dawn

We know Charlie Hunnam can look after himself in an on-screen rumble: TV’s Sons Of Anarchy and Pacific Rim proved that. Now he’s going to get his chance to show off some Thai boxing skills in true-life tale A Prayer Before Dawn . Jean-Stephane Sauvaire is directing the film. It's drawn from the story of Billy Moore, who ended up incarcerated in the brutal Thai prison Klong Prem, known as the notorious Bangkok Hilton. There, mostly to survive, he began learning the skills of Muay Thai boxing. Nick Saltese adapted Moore’s book for Wild Bunch and Hurricane Films. Hunnam is already training in the fighting discipline, and he’ll need to seriously shape up in the discipline, because Sauvaire is recruiting former prisoners and Muay Thai champions for the cast. “A Prayer Before Dawn is – at one and the same time – a true story, a prison drama, a survival movie, a desperate love story and an extraordinary tale of redemption,” Sauvaire tells Screen International. “Above all, it i

Guillermo del Toro Writing Pacific Rim 2

The director is collaborating with Zak Penn on a script. Before Godzilla arrived and smashed up the box office, a little film called Pacific Rim gave us tantalizing clues as just how cool a kaiju movie could be. The movie made about $190 million domestically, $411m worldwide, and enjoyed good DVD sales of just over $47m. Therefore, it seemed logical that a sequel would arrive, and now we have just such a confirmation. According to an interview given at the Austin premiere of the FX television show The Strain , Del Toro spoke about the script, saying the following: "I'm working very, very hard with Zak Penn. We've been working for a few months now in secret. We found a way to twist it around. Travis Beacham [co-writer of the first film, now working on Fox's 'Hieroglyph'] was involved in the storyline and now I'm writing with Zak because Travis has become a TV mogul." You'll remember that Del Toro collaborated with Travis Beacham on
