Jack Bauer Is Returning To The Big Screen

The clock has started on 24 , the feature version of the Imagine Entertainment/Fox series. The project brings back Kiefer Sutherland ’s tireless government operative Jack Bauer. Mark Bomback — a favorite writer at 20th Century Fox writing The Wolverine and Shadow Divers – is doing some last minute tweaking of Billy Ray’s script, and will turn it in by year’s end. Imagine and the studio have about five directors in mind — no, Tony Scott is not attached anymore — and it will all begin happening very quickly in the early part of next year. The goal is to get the film into production to match Sutherland’s availability, which begins in April. That should give producer Brian Grazer something to do after he completes producing the Academy Awards, and it is certainly good news for fans of the show who were beginning to fear the project wouldn’t happen. Brett Ratner To Direct Ben Stiller In "Tower Heist" A $50 million van Gogh masterpiece was swiped Saturday from a Cairo museum by thieves who took advantage of lax security, simply walked in and liberated a painting from its frame with a box cutter. In Hollywood, the planning and execution of a good heist is never that simple. After almost four years, Universal Pictures is aiming Tower Heist for a November production start in New York. Brett Ratner will direct. Ben Stiller stars as the overworked manager of a luxury building who, along with other staff, lost their pensions to a Bernie Madoff-like Wall Street crook. It so happens that the fraudster is being held under house arrest in the luxury penthouse apartment upstairs, and the manager and four cohorts figure a heist will make them whole. The film’s produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, and Kim Roth is executive producer. This heist has among its architects some of the town's top screenwriters: A

Real Genius Getting Remade?

Real Genius Getting Remade? Why do people in Hollywood think it is a good idea to remake some of the best classic movies I grew up with? Maybe they want to introduce the movies to the younger generation, I can understand that, let them watch the original movie then.  Isn't anything sacred anymore. The original film starred Val Kilmer Chris Knight. Pajiba is reporting that their Hollywood source Imagine Entertainment (yes, that’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer) have now targeted the movie as a likely candidate. The 1985 original, which despite a low box office result, remains a beloved cult comedy,  starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret. The film is set on the campus of "Pacific Tech", a fictitious technical university in the US based on Caltech. Chris Knight (Kilmer) is a genius in his senior year working on a chemical laser. He came to the university as a somber, assiduous student but mellowed over time after deciding that there is more to life than just work. Mitch

LeBron James To Star In " Fantasy Basketball"

"Fantasy Basketball" With LeBron James LeBron can do no wrong right now except win a Title, With Shaq joining him this year who knows. I love his Nike Commercials that he done, LeBron seems like a pretty good guy with an out going personality. Every sports star want to be an Actor and Every Actor wants to be a sports star so this transition would be only fitting. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel are writing the script. Pic is a comedy about five guys from different backgrounds who come to Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending the LeBron James Adult Basketball Camp. Gus van Sant Is In Talks To Develop and Direct Restless Gus van Sant is in negotiations with Columbia to develop and direct "Restless," an original screenplay by first-time screenwriter Jason Lew. Brian Grazer , Ron Howard and Bryce Howard will produce for Imagine Entertainment . The logline is being kept under wraps, though it is described as contemporary and distinctive take on young love. Lew and Bryce Howard attended New York University together and it was there that Lew first wrote the story as a play. Howard, who had acted in plays with Lew, got a peek at the story and encouraged him to write it as a screenplay. After several drafts and a "gestation period," Bryce Howard brought it to her father Ron who, taken with Lew's perspective and originality, wanted to further develop it for Imagine. Lew kept on working on the screenplay with Imagine execs, who ultimately showed it to Van Sant. Grazer was looking to reteam with his friend, with whom he worked on t
