Anna Kendrick is in negotiations to star in Pitch Perfect , the Gold Circle romantic comedy set in the world of collegiate a cappella groups. Universal is distributing. The project will be directed by Jason Moore ( Avenue Q ) and is based on the nonfiction book written by GQ magazine's Mickey Rapkin. Rebel Wilson , one of the breakouts of Bridesmaids, is already cast in the project, which revolves around a goth-like and rebellious student ( Kendrick ), unhappy to be at a school at which her father is a professor, who discovers her voice and becomes the secret weapon for the school’s female a cappella group. The role could serve a nice 180 for Kendrick, who has made a name for herself playing self-assured Type A personalities. She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Up In the Air , played the high-achieving human best friend of Bella in the Twilight movies and was last seen as the goal-oriented sister of Scott Pilgrim in Scott Pilgrim vs the World . 20th Century Fox has set VFX expert Tim Miller to direct X-Men Origins: Deadpool . Deadpool will serve as the directorial debut for the man, who has done effects work on the Bryan Singer-directed X-Men movies, Daredevil and Scott Pilgrim vs the World , among others. The Marvel character Deadpool, a.k.a. Wade Wilson , is a talkative mercenary with a host powers, including the ability to heal at a fast rate. Ryan Reynolds played Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, while Scott Adkins played the character of Deadpool after Wilson had transformed. Reynolds is at this stage attached to star in the movie, though script and scheduling could ultimately effect his involvement. Edgar Wright's Next Project An Ant-Man Film? I am not sure if any of you out there have heard of this character. I am with you guys, I have heard of Ant-Man and seen it in a cartoon film once but that is pretty much it. But comic book properties are a huge thing now and everyone wants a piece of the pie. Marvel's president Kevin Feige gave us some updated  information on the Ant-Man project such as when the production will start moving forward. Edgar was in L.A. last week, we sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting ' Scott Pilgrim ,' so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we'd start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after The Avengers.
