Willow Smith To Star In Annie Remake

Will Smith is planning to develop an Annie Remake which would star his daughter Willow Smith and that they would also be collaborating with rapper Jay-Z on the music.

It's Official this remake is going to happen.

“The time is right to bring back ANNIE to the big screen. Of course, we’re true believers in Willow's talent and believe she will be perfect in this role,” said Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrad. “Combining Willow with the Overbrook team that reimagined Karate Kid and the spectacular JAY-Z makes this a dream project. A decade ago, JAY-Z proved that the power of the underlying Broadway property remains, by showing how these songs could be reinterpreted for a new generation with Hard-Knock Life. We couldn't be more thrilled to be working with our friends at Overbrook as they launch this new venture.”
In a press release announcing that Overbrook Entertainment and Jay-Z are teaming up, Columbia Pictures confirmed that they have a remake of Annie in the works:

Robert Pattinson Wants To Bite Into The Role Of Jeff Buckley Film

VAMPIRE heartthrob Robert Pattinson is looking to get his teeth into a challenging new role as folk legend Jeff Buckley.

The brooding 24-year-old British actor wants to put bloodsucker Edward Cullen behind him when the Twilight saga comes to an end and has set his heart on depicting his musical idol.

Buckley drowned in 1997 in Memphis, Tennessee, aged 30 and immediately became a cult figure.

“Rob is obsessed with this project and is doing everything he can to land the part.“He has already told his business team this is his passion and they agree it could be the film that makes him a legitimate Oscar contender.”

The film’s producer Michelle Sy said: “I’ve met actors who are keen on the part and Robert was one.”
Robert Pattinson will play Jeff Buckley

His main rival for the role is thought to be the American actor James Franco, who will co-host the Oscars next month. Other actors tipped to take Buckley’s role include James Marsden, who played Cyclops in the X-Men films, Blue Valentine s…

Jon Bon Jovi Joins The Cast Of New Year’s Eve

Jon Bon Jovi and Seth Meyers are putting on their party hats for New Line’s all-star ensemble New Year’s Eve, being directed by Garry Marshall.

Bon Jovi and Meyers join a cast that counts Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara among its cast.

The movie tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year's Eve.

Bon Jovi is playing -- here’s a stretch -- a successful rock star who once dumped Berry’s character of a caterer but now finds himself face to face with again at a party.

Meyers will play a broke dad who wants his wife (Biel) to deliver the first baby of the year in order to win a $25,000 reward and finds himself in a heated competition.

Michael Fassbender To Star Opposite Noomi Rapace In Prometheus

Michael Fassbender will star opposite Noomi Rapace in Prometheus, Fox's sci-fi project that was once an Alien prequel.

Ridley Scott is directing the movie, which just shifted release dates, moving from a March 2012 berth to a high-profile summer release of June 8, 2012.

Much of the story line is shrouded by secrecy, but Scott said the movie will have "Alien DNA." Fassbender is playing an android.

Fassbender,  was one of the breakouts from Inglourious Basterds, booking several high-profile roles off that film, including that of Magneto in Fox's X-Men: First Class.

He was offered the Prometheus role last year (when it was still the Alien prequel), with talks on and off throughout the fall. Fassbender also flirted with Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, but now that he has booked Prometheus, that dance is over.

Christian Bale Up For Another Batman Film

This may not come as a huge surprise but it does come straight from the horse's mouth: Christian Bale, talking to Empire last month, said that The Dark Knight Rises will be his last Batman movie...probably.

"All I know is the likelihood that this will be the last one," says the star. "Well, I wouldn't say definitely. If Chris goes, 'Hey, I've got another story I think could be interesting,' then yeah, great, I'd go do that. I always assumed it would be three, but I could be wrong. I don't know if there's something wrong with me, but I don't feel any pressure."
Nolan's on record as saying that the next film will be the last chapter in his Batman franchise, so we're going to assume that's it, but hey! It's nice that Bale isn't locking anything out. It's clear throughout our interview that he and Christopher Nolan continue to enjoy a great relationship, and also that Bale's looking forward to the new membe…

Chuck's Josh Schwartz To Direct Fun Size

Josh Schwartz (co-created NBC's Chuck)  will make his feature directing debut with Fun Size, a teen comedy that his Fake Empire shingle is developing for Paramount.

Read my Exclusive interview with him Here about Chuck.

Paramount picked up the spec script by Colbert Report scribe Max Werner in May 2010. And while several projects are vying for Schwartz's attention as a director, including the coming-of-age drama Looking for Alaska, he fell hard for the comedic script, which centers on a sarcastic teenage girl who is forced to take her little brother trick-or-treating on Halloween, then loses him and must find him before their mother finds out.

A sticking point had been timing. Paramount was unsure if the movie should be made in time for this Halloween or Halloween 2012. The studio has now made the decision to go for this year, so the movie, while still not officially greenlighted, according to the studio, is shooting for a late spring start in St. Louis.

Lis Rowinski is overs…
