Can Angelina Jolie Be "Unforgiven" GK Films is developing a feature adaptation of the 2009 British miniseries Unforgiven , and Christopher McQuarrie writing a script that’s being tailored for Jolie to play the lead role. Jolie, who next stars with Depp in the GK-financed Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck-directed thriller The Tourist (Columbia Pictures releases the film December 10), separately announced this week she’ll make her directing debut and produce with GK’s King and Tim Headington a Bosnian love story she has written. McQuarrie , who just scripted X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 , was one of the writers on The Tourist. Unforgiven is about a woman’s attempt to rejoin society after she serves a 15-year prison stretch for the murder of two policemen.
