BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

TV Review: Scream "Pilot"

TV adaptation is dead on arrival. Review by Brandon Wolfe Scream becoming a TV show at this point in the game is very odd, at least on MTV. Sure, we live in a culture that specializes in grave-robbing the past, unearthing musty old franchises to cash in on whatever residual name recognition can be extracted from their withering bones. But Scream is a property that has little, if any, familiarity to MTV’s tween target audience, many of whom (like some members of this show’s cast) were yet to be born when ol’ Ghostface went on his first rampage. If Scream were to be dusted off for a cinematic reboot, it would be difficult to feign surprise (other than that there remained any interest in something like that so soon after 2011’s Scream 4 came and went unnoticed), but a television series served up to an audience who wouldn’t know Gale Weathers if she backed over them with her news van seems peculiar. Perhaps MTV felt emboldened from successfully repackaging the even mustier Teen Wolf

MTV's Teen Wolf Trailer

This ain't no Michael J. Fox's  Teen Wolf I grew up with. MTV's Teen Wolf trailer, Scott was just a regular guy until one bite changed his life forever. Now he struggles to understand who he is and what he might become. Is he more wolf than human - or is it the other way around? Whichever it is, it's not going to be easy. TEEN WOLF is the story of Scott as he tries to walk the line between what he wants and what he can't help from wanting. Will the bite end up being a gift? Or will it be a curse? MTV's Teen Wolf First Look And Trailer

MTV's Teen Wolf First Look And Trailer The 1985 film starred Michael J. Fox as a teenager who discovers he is a werewolf. The MTV version will be set in high school, draw from the horror genre to explore werewolf mythology and include a romantic plot line. "It has a fresh take and is very different from the original," said Liz Gateley, senior vp MTV series development. "It has more of an 'American Werewolf in London' feel to it. It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques." “Teen Wolf,” stars Tyler Posey (“Maid in Manhattan,” “Brothers and Sisters”), as the newly bitten werewolf, ‘ Scott McCall ,’ Dylan O’Brien as his best friend ‘Stiles,’ Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town, ‘Allison,’ and Tyler Hoechlin (“Road to Perdition,” “7th Heaven”) as the older and possibly quite dangerous werewolf, ‘Der

"Jersey Shore" Cast Getting Close To Signing

"Jersey Shore" Cast Getting Close To Signing The cast of "Jersey Shore" is currently on track to keep fist-pumping into Season 2. With MTV having stepped up its offer to $10,000 per episode, sources say negotiations have taken "a positive turn," though the deals are still not done. Agreements could be reached by the end of the week for a second round of MTV's breakout hit, whose cast collectively rebelled against the network's ridiculously low salaries for freshman performers (MTV's villainous-sounding "end of day" deadline that was widely reported Monday was supposedly hot air). MTV is eager to get the cast shooting a new season to air in late summer -- July or August. Please Leave A Comment - Source- THR

MTV's Jersey Shore Catching More Heat

MTV's Jersey Shore Catching More Heat MTV is getting more pressure to cancel its "Jersey Shore" reality show. The latest criticism comes from the New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus, which says the show promotes derogatory ethnic stereotypes and is "wildly offensive." In a letter sent Tuesday to the president of Viacom, MTV's parent company, caucus chairman Joseph Vitale asks that the show be immediately taken off the air. The state lawmakers also have asked advertisers to boycott the show, which focuses on eight tanned 20-somethings and their escapades in Seaside Heights, a popular New Jersey beach town. On Wednesday, a Viacom spokesman referred a request for comment to an MTV spokesperson, who did not immediately respond. MTV has said its intention is not to stereotype or offend. James Cameron Weighs In On Terminator Salvation

James Cameron Weighs In On Terminator Salvation Cameron sat down with MTV News- "I have seen it, and unfortunately I saw it the wrong way, on cable at the hotel, while I was working, over three nights because I don’t have much time," Cameron said. "It’s better than I thought it was going to be." Back-handed compliment much? But Cameron went on to praise McG and his creative team for their efforts while also noting that the movie was missing some essential elements that made the earlier films such classics. "It's actually quite reverential to the mythos of the 'Terminator' world," he said. "I think McG and the writers tried hard to keep reacquainting you with some of those ideas in the story that they were weaving. So actually I thought it was pretty cool. I did feel that it sort of lacked Je ne sais quoi. Although I love Sam [Worthington] in it. " No surprise there, considering Cameron has made Worthington the star of his 3-D alien lo

MTV's "Jersey Shore" Losing Advertisers

MTV's "Jersey Shore" Losing Advertisers I am an addict of reality shows and this one caught my eyes the other night. I could not believe people talk and act like this. But I didn't change the channel. I watched the entire show and want more. And so does my buddy Lil Jerry that is all he talked about at work today was this show. And I talked to Sandwichjohn staff member Hammer who is from Jersey and he confirmed there really are people like this out in Jersey. WOW. The ruckus over MTV's "Jersey Shore" is getting as intense as the hot-headed dramatics on the show. The controversial new reality series chronicling a spirited group of self-described "guidos" living in a New Jersey beach house has drawn protests of increasing volume from critics. Now it appears calls for a boycott are having an impact. The Italian-American group UNICO (the same group that protested HBO's "The Sopranos") has asked members to complain to MTV's adverti

Teen Wolf Coming to MTV

Teen Wolf Coming to MTV Looks like MTV is going to rip apart a movie from all of our youth that we loved. Well maybe not everyone, I for at least one liked the movie. MTV is saying that the show will nothing like the movie. But in a weird way can they will turn this into another reality show, that's what MTV has turn into a Reality TV network. MTV's reinvention of the 1980s movie " Teen Wolf " is inching closer to reality with a pilot presentation order. The cable network announced the project in January as part of its development slate. After seeing the script, MTV brass picked it up to presentation. The 1985 film starred Michael J. Fox as a teenager who discovers he is a werewolf. The MTV version will be set in high school, draw from the horror genre to explore werewolf mythology and include a romantic plot line. "It has a fresh take and is very different from the original," said Liz Gateley, senior vp MTV series development. "It has more of an 'A
