Stallone Says No More Rambo

Stallone Says No More Rambo

Empire spoke to Stallone in this months Empire magazine, and they got some bad new for you Rambo fans out there. There was talk at one point that Rambo V was going to be a sci-fi film ( just sounds wrong.)

“I think Rambo’s pretty well done. I don’t think there’ll be any more. I’m about 99% sure,” said Stallone, which comes as something of a surprise. After all, Rambo V was considered to be something of an inevitability after the last movie, the ultra-violent Rambo, made $113 million worldwide in 2008. But The Expendables has made Sly think long and hard about his future; and Rambo doesn’t feature in it.

“I was going to do it,” he said. “I said I’d never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen.

“I’m very happy with the last Burmese episode, because I didn’t pull any punches on it,” he continued. “I wanted it to be what civil war really is – rough. You can’t candy coat it, and where do you go from there? So that’s [Rambo V] going to go.”

Stallone’s not done with Rambo completely, though. He told Empire that he’s at work on a director’s cut of Rambo which will restore twelve minutes to the movie, including a surprising outburst of loquaciousness for the mumbling man of action at the movie’s beginning.

So, what is the Sly one going to do with his free time? Sounds like another sequal is in the works.

"We are very serious... we're already working on an [Expendables] sequel"

Twilight Saga: Eclipse New Photos And Letter From Bill Condon

Twilight Saga: Eclipse New Photos And Letter From Bill Condon

Summit has blessed us with two new images from the upcoming film Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Summit has released 2 new hi-res images from The Twilight Saga: ECLIPSE. Here is the trailer for all of you livivng on Mars.

We also got some news from the official Twilight facebook page where Bill Condon talks to the fans via a letter.

You think he is the right choice?

Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,

I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I’m stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you’ve probably heard, I’ve been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit – who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.

I’m pretty busy bringing myself up to speed on what you already know by heart: I’ve read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine’s and Chris’s movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine’s notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz’s companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk – a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for “newborn” status in the universe you’ve been living inside for a few years now, but a guy’s gotta start somewhere.

Like many of you, I’ve always been slightly obsessed with vampires, dating back to the prime-time series DARK SHADOWS, which I followed avidly as a kid. But that alone hadn’t been enough to get me interested in making a vampire movie, even though my early screenwriting and directing efforts grew out of a great love for horror movies and thrillers. Since making GODS AND MONSTERS thirteen years ago, however, I’ve been yearning for a return to a story with Gothic overtones.

The wonderful world that Stephenie has created has obviously struck a chord with you, and I don’t think it’s difficult to see why. For me, her characters are simultaneously timeless, yet very modern. Rooted in a beautiful, real landscape with a great sense of place, Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the rest of the Forks/La Push menagerie, experience emotions that are primal, and universal: desire, despair, jealousy – and it all comes to fruition in BREAKING DAWN. This is a final chapter in the best sense; not just wide in scope and scale, but emotionally charged and intense throughout.

I’m a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments section below, and I’ll do my best to answer them. I hope that this will be the first of many occasions I’ll get to check in with you as we set to work bringing BREAKING DAWN to the screen. I am excited and grateful to have all of you alongside me for my TWILIGHT journey.

All best,

Bill Condon

P.S. Answer #1: No, there won’t be any musical numbers

First Photo Of Chris Hemsworth As Thor

First Photo Of Chris Hemsworth As Thor

Yesterday we brought you the first look at Destroyer from the upcoming Thor movie and today Marvel released the first photo of Chris Hemsworth as Thor himself.

I have never read a Thor comic book before so I am not sure what to expect but from what I have seen and heard from other sites about how the costume doesn't really fit in with the "real-world" vibe that we've seen in Iron Man

If you are attending Comic Con this year I would expect to see a Thor presence there.

First Photo Of Destroyer From The Upcoming Thor Film

First Photo Of Destroyer From The Upcoming Thor Film

We got our first leaked photo from the upcoming Thor film, and we have to thank Latino Review for the photo.  I know that security around the set is air tight, but when theres a will there is a way.

Here's a description of what the Destroyer actually is.

The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, and when it first appeared it was hinted that the Destroyer had been created as a weapon to face some dark menace from the stars. It is first seen residing in the Temple of darkness in Asia. The Destroyer is used by Thor's arch-foe Loki on several occasions, and each time has actually come close to killing Thor.

Film Synopsis:

This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth. Kenneth Branagh directs this fantasy epic which stars Australian actor Chris Hemsworth as the ancient Norse god, Tom Hiddleston as his evil brother Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, a young woman who befriends Thor on Earth, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Thor's father and king of Asgard. Expect to see agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., previously seen in ''Iron Man,'' to make an appearance, further forshadowing the coming of The Avengers!

Mickey Rourke Talks Genghis Khan Biopic

Mickey Rourke Talks Genghis Khan Biopic

We got word that  Mickey Rourke will be starring in a Genghis Khan biopic, written and directed by "Apocalypse Now" writer John Milius.

"It is [an epic movie]," Rourke said, "but because Milius is a really terrific writer, it's not your stereotypical blood and swords. It's almost done on a-- not quite a documentary historical background of the whole Mongol reign, but there's a lot of humor in it that you wouldn't expect."
"I like the part where he has-- they use dogs in battle, these big dogs," the actor explained. "And then, on one particular battle, [Khan] didn't think they were going to be doing too good. So he said 'Leave the dogs behind.' I like that."

Schwarzenegger's Commando To Get Remade

Schwarzenegger's Commando To Get Remade

This film started the whole thing for me. My first real big crush on Alyssa Milano and this is part of the history of my website name. In the begining of the film Alyssa makes a sandwich for her father played by Arnold Schwarzenegger (The you don't want to know sandwich) and somehow (Rando)  turned into a part of my name for the website. Well one part...

Deadline reports Fox is developing a remake of Commando, the 1985 shoot-first-ask-questions-later action movie which followed a retired elite special forces op whose daughter is kidnapped and threatened unless he gets on a plane and kills the rival of a nasty dictator. David Ayer, who wrote Training Day and directed Street Kings, is both writing and directing this.

Ayer, a former Navy soldier himself, is putting a real-world spin on the original premise (oh come on, it was cheesy 80's action!) by making the protagonist less of a "meat head" and more skilled in covert tactics and weaponry. By stripping down the hero though, it almost makes the flick less of a fun ride, and more like the rest of the espionage focused Jason Bourne copycats out there. But at the same time, we don't want a carbon copy of the original, so really I think this remake just shouldn't happen along with a bunch of other remakes that should be shit-canned too. There's gotta be an original script out there with the same spirit of what the Commando remake would be without having to bank on Schwarzenegger's previous work as an action star.

Warner Bros. And IMAX Sign 20 Picture Deal

Warner Bros. And IMAX Sign 20 Picture Deal

Warner Bros. and IMAX have signed a new collaboration deal up to 20 more WB films to be released in the IMAX format from now till 2013. In the announcement they gives us great news about some of the most anticipated films to come out. It also acknowledges Batman 3, Superman, Fury Road and Dark Shadows as being three of the 15 films to be released in IMAX between 2011 and 2013.

Here is the full press release with all the little details:

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc., announced today that they have completed an agreement to release up to 20 Warner Bros. films in IMAX’s format over the course of the next three and a half years (from 2010 through 2013). The agreement strategically aligns Warner Bros.’ tent-pole business with the increasing worldwide popularity of The IMAX Experience(R) in both 2D and IMAX(R) 3D, providing the studio with an added distribution platform that consistently delivers strong box office returns. The agreement underscores the excitement around the studio’s future films which are anticipated to be among the best Hollywood event titles slated for release in the coming years.

Under the agreement, Warner Bros. movies that will be released in IMAX are: Legends of the Guardian: The Owls of Ga’Hoole 3D (September 24, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (3D) (November 19, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (3D) (July 15, 2011); Happy Feet 2 (3D) (November 18, 2011); and The Hobbit (December 2013). Warner Bros. and IMAX also plan to release an additional 15 films over the course of 2011, 2012 and 2013, including Gravity, Dark Shadows, Fury Road, Batman 3, and Superman.

“Our track record with IMAX has been incredible, and incorporating 3D into this collaborative effort will serve as the ultimate experience for our audiences,” said Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. “We are extraordinarily proud of our forthcoming slate and eager to offer these films to audiences in the most premium of movie-going experiences.”

“We’re thrilled to join with IMAX in bringing global audiences new and exciting experiences through the 3D IMAX format,” said Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. “We have a tremendously powerful slate of quality tentpole films, and as IMAX theaters continue to expand internationally, more and more audiences will have the opportunity to experience our films using this exciting format.”

“Warner Bros. is and has been an important strategic partner for IMAX. The success of our partnership to date is a result of our integrated approach to marketing and release strategies, and we believe this formula will lead to more box office success in the future,” said Richard L. Gelfond, CEO of IMAX. “Our digital theatre system has accelerated the growth of our theatre network and provides us with significant flexibility in the release and programming schedule in our theatres. This important announcement provides increased visibility into our future film slate, enabling existing and potential exhibitors to better know what’s ‘coming soon’ in their IMAX(R) theatres.”

“IMAX has a deep appreciation for Warner Bros.’ approach to the film business; they consistently work with the industry’s most talented filmmakers, produce and release blockbuster films that captivate global audiences and make going to the movies a fun, powerful and inspiring experience,” said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. “We are confident that continuing to team with Warner Bros. to distribute market, promote and showcase their ‘all-star’ titles in IMAX will delight movie-goers around the world and achieve box office and critical success that will benefit our two companies and our exhibitor partners.”

Since June 2003, Warner Bros. Pictures has released 25 titles in IMAX’s format, 10 of which featured IMAX 3D, including several live action pictures that were partially converted into 3D with IMAX’s proprietary 2D-to-3D conversion technology. Warner Bros. films have generated approximately $565 million in box office revenues at IMAX theatres around the world. Each Hollywood title was digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience using IMAX’s proprietary IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-Mastering) technology. Also included in the tally are the studio’s four original IMAX 3D co-productions, “NASCAR 3D” (2003), “Deep Sea 3D” (2008), “Under the Sea 3D” (2009) and “Hubble 3D,” in select IMAX theatres now.

Warner Brothers Developing A Starman Film?

Warner Brothers Developing A Starman Film?

According to Pajiba Warner Brothers is developing a movie about "Starman" in partnership with Lin Productions and DC Comics, is bringing Starman to the big screen.

Starman is one of those DC properties that’s gone through several iterations in its 70-year history. He’s been a helmeted dude with a “gravity rod,” a blue-skinned alien with flying shoes (sort of), an alien mutant prince (also notable for being one of the few — possibly only — bisexual superheroes), a being of pure energy, and I believe a couple of others. The current incarnation of Starman is as a member of the Justice League from the future. Or something.

In any event, according to an inside source, Warner Brother, in partnership with Lin Productions and DC Comics, is bringing Starman to the big screen. Which version is sort of unknown — he’ll wield a gravity rod, have energy powers, and likely be able to fly. One of the more recent Starman characters could also manipulate mass, but not word on whether that power will be present.

Depending on which route they go, it could be a pretty interesting character — the idea of a true intergalactic superhero hasn’t been explored (although next year’s Green Lantern will likely be the first), and it will likely need to be a special effects-heavy production to make it viable.

Bill Condon To Direct Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Bill Condon To Direct Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Has Summit entertainment has  found it's director for the upcoming film Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Bill Condon will be directing the film. Condon credits include Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters.  Condon was among a list of A-list directors approved by Summit and Twilight author Stephenie Meyer.

There is talk that Breaking Dawn will begin shooting will begin in the fall, and I heard the plan is to shoot two films back to back. The Twilight job came open when The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz decided not to reprise, despite directing a film that grossed $707 million worldwide., almost doubling the Catherine Hardwicke-directed original's $385 million worldwide gross.

Hollywood hasn't given Summit its due on the Twilight pictures. Like them or not, these pictures have been better than they had to be, given the ferocious fan base. They are exciting movies with a fresh contemporary feel. That Summit keeps pushing the envelope, where director quality is concerned, says a lot in how to keep franchises engaging for fans--something that studios now readying prequels, four-quels and reboots, would be smart to emulate.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 Arrives In 2013

How To Train Your Dragon 2 Arrives In 2013

DreamWorks Animation announced today during its First Quarter financial results that they will be making a sequel to the hit CGI animated film How To Train Your Dragon, and that it will be released in theaters in 2013.

I was surprised when I saw this film, I took my daughter and had not interest in the film at all. But when I left the theaters I was praising the film and telling everyone I know that they need to go watch the film. The movie made $375 million dollars worldwide so far.So something is working for them.

I just really hope that they don't kill the excitement of the film once they turn  it into a franchise film and not being able to come up with clever ideas for the next few films.

Here is the official statement that was released,

2010 is off to a strong start, thanks in large part to the performance of How to Train Your Dragon which – having grossed nearly $375 million to date in worldwide box office – has become DreamWorks Animation's next franchise. We plan to release the sequel theatrically in 2013," said Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation. "3D continues to have a tremendous impact on the industry at large and we are now looking forward with great anticipation to bringing 'Shrek Forever After,' the final chapter in our beloved 'Shrek' series and the first in 3D, to audiences across the globe next month.

Anchorman 2 Coming Soon

Anchorman 2 Coming Soon

If you don't want to see an Anchorman sequel you need to stop stiffen the Sex Panther. The problem all this time was trying to get the cast back together for a budget that Paramount will be willing to pay. Ever since the first installment, the supporting stars especially Paul Rudd and Steve Carell have become more famous and more expensive, they’re household names now, just like Will Ferrell himself.

But it looks like the ball has started to roll for a sequel.
.
Adam McKay recently told MTV this;

We have this other, bigger, crazier idea that’s really more what it’s about, which I can’t say. Our thinking was there’s just no way the second one is going to be as good as the first, because the first one is the first one. So our idea is if we’re going to do a second one, we better go for it and try some insane stuff and we’ll be enjoying it and that way it can’t be half bad.

Robert Downey Jr Talks Due Date And Sherlock Holmes 2

Robert Downey Jr Talks Due Date And Sherlock Holmes 2

Moviehole got a chance to talk to Robert Downey Jr about his upcoming movie DUE DATE, and Robert told them it's the second greatest movie he’s ever done.. So what is the first?

“I’ve seen the movie. It’s like the second greatest movie I’ve ever done – largely due to Zach Galifianakis, who is crazy good in every scene, and Todd Phillips, who is just one of the great American directors. I guarantee you’re going to love it – I went to the last screening and people were literally saying ‘Oh my god, It’s gotta stop – my face hurts!’ Downey says Galifianakis doesn’t necessarily improvise in the film he “just does what he wants- whether the scene needs it or not”. The actor said he had constantly ask his juvenile co-star, who he jokingly said acted like a children that just “did what he wants” at any time on the set, if “he needed to go to the bathroom because we’re gonna be in the car for an hour”.
Due date Stars Zach Galifianakis, Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan. The film is directed by Todd Phillips.

The plot focuses on two men: a highly strung expectant father (Downey) and an aspiring actor (Galifianakis) on a cross country road trip so the father can arrive in time to see his child's birth. This movie was filmed in Las Cruces, New Mexico and around the Atlanta, Georgia area.

On Sherlock Holmes 2:

"I'm doing Sherlock Holmes again so I'm going back and reading all the Conan Doyle books again. I just finished them, so I'm gonna start over again - at Volume 1". Downey also joked that there'll be a "pantsless" nude scene between him and co-star Jude Law in the sequel.

Kick-Ass Movie Review By: Sandwichjohn

Kick-Ass Movie Review
By: Sandwichjohn

Sorry Late but you know the real world doesn't always leave a lot of time for sitting down to write a review. Kick Ass unfortunately didn't kick ass in the box office but we here at Sandwichjohnfilms definitely thought it kicked bottom, as my 4 year old says. We were very excited for this movie every since we show the first clips which were released, then more so after watching the panel at WonderCon and we were not disappointed.

Kick Ass stars Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski, an average high school kid that decides to become a super hero. He hits a few road blocks along the way but becomes a You Tube hit as the super hero Kick Ass. Kick Ass also stars Nicholas Cage as Damon Macready, a former cop who was framed by the local crime boss Frank D'Amico and spent time in prison. Upon his release he trains his 11 year daughter Mindy (Chloë Moretz) to help him fight crime in his quest to bring down D'Amico. Together they form the duo of Big Daddy and Hit Girl. Kick Ass gains the attention of Big Daddy and Hit Girl who thinks he has potential as a super hero. He also catches the attention of D'Amico who thinks he is responsible for the latest assaults on his organization for which Big Daddy is really responsible.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse stars as Chris D'Amico, also known as Red Mist. All the actors and actresses did a great job with their roles. Moretz did an awesome job being convincing as both a ruthless crime fighter and a loving daughter. Although for me I have to admit it was a bit unsettling it was at first to see the young Moretz taking people down as Hit Girl. There is a great story line involving Dave and the girl he likes and other revolving around the father son relationship of the D'Amico's.

The film is violent and the language foul so I definitely wouldn't recommend for kids younger than 13 or 14 no matter how much they beg to go.

8.5 Sandwiches out of 10

Warner Bros. and DC Comics are in the early stages of developing a tour, tentatively titled "Batman Live" and starring the Caped Crusader, working with Nick Grace Management and Water Lane Prods., companies behind the popular "Walking With Dinosaurs" and "Mamma Mia!" touring shows.

The show is neither a musical nor a Broadway-bound theatrical production but rather an elaborate arena production aimed at kids and families.

Alan Burnett, a longtime animation veteran whose credits include Batman and Superman television shows as well as such animated movies as "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" and "Green Lantern: First Flight," is writing the story and script. The logline is being kept under wraps, but it's known that the show will feature numerous villains.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products is spearheading the project, whose deals with NGM and WLP are licensing agreements. Other partners might come aboard.

The credentials of NGM and WLP are well-known in the stage world. The award-winning "Dinosaurs" show, for example, boasted intricate dinos and sets, and the tours generated tens of millions of dollars, consistently ranking near the top of Pollstar's annual ranking.

No timeline for the "Batman" show is set, though one scenario involves aiming to come out after Christopher Nolan's third "Batman" movie in 2012. Another scenario has it opening in 2011.

Mounting any type of stage production featuring a superhero can be tricky -- just look at the on-again, off-again Spider-Man Broadway musical -- but Batman could be the first DC Comics character with his own touring stage show. His erstwhile colleague Superman was the center of a Broadway show in 1966, but it closed after a few months despite fairly positive reviews.

Edgar Wright's Next Project An Ant-Man Film?

Edgar Wright's Next Project An Ant-Man Film?

I am not sure if any of you out there have heard of this character. I am with you guys, I have heard of Ant-Man and seen it in a cartoon film once but that is pretty much it. But comic book properties are a huge thing now and everyone wants a piece of the pie.

Marvel's president Kevin Feige gave us some updated  information on the Ant-Man project such as when the production will start moving forward.

Edgar was in L.A. last week, we sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting 'Scott Pilgrim,' so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we'd start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after The Avengers.

Here is the Ant-Man origin story:

Early Life:

Scott Lang was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He turned to burglary when his occupation as an electronics expert failed to support his family. Apprehended, he served his prison sentence and was paroled after three years for good behavior.

In prison, Lang furthered his study of electronics and was soon hired by Stark International to work in its design department. Under Stark's direction, he helped install a new security system in Avengers Mansion.

Becoming Ant-Man

When his daughter Cassie became seriously ill, Lang decided to return to burglary as a final resort. He broke into the home of Dr. Henry Pym and stole his Ant-Man uniform and shrinking gas canisters. Garbed as Ant-Man, Lang broke into Cross Technological Enterprises and discovered that Dr. Erica Sondheim, the only person capable of helping his daughter, was being held prisoner. He rescued the doctor and was relieved when Sondheim was able to save the life of his beloved Cassie.

Lang had intended to return the Ant-Man costume to Pym and turn himself in for its theft but Pym, aware of the use to which Lang had put the stolen goods, offered to let him keep them, provided he only use them to uphold the law.

UFC's Tito Ortiz Arrested Jenna Jameson To Press Charges

UFC's Tito Ortiz Arrested For Domestic Violence

Update:
Jenna Jameson: I'm Pressing Charges

Fighting back tears, a clearly emotional Jenna was driving away from her home in Huntington Beach, CA moments ago -- when she stopped and told our photog, "I'm gonna be alright."

Jenna -- who was wearing giant sunglasses -- continued, "My babies are alright ... everything's OK .. he's in jail."

Celebrity gossip and news website TMZ.com is reporting that UFC star Tito Ortiz has been arrested, allegedly, “for domestic violence at the home he shares with Jenna Jameson.”

The TMZ report goes on to say that they were told that when police arrived on the scene that Jameson had “visible injuries,” although TMZ did not cite the source declaring the injuries.

According to TMZ.com, “We're told someone called 911 today at 9:53 AM and reported a ‘disturbance.’

“Tito is currently in custody and on his way to a Huntington Beach jail in Orange County, CA.”

MMAWeekly.com has been able to verify Ortiz’ arrest with the Huntington Beach jail. He was in the midst of the booking process. The lieutenant in charge of the case was not available to provide further details at the time of the call.

TMZ has added videos of Ortiz being taken away in a police car (see video below) and a tearful Jameson saying that she is okay and that she intends to press charges.

Ortiz is a coach opposite Chuck Liddell on the current season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series. The two were expected to fight in June, following the series, but that bout has been nixed. Liddell has since been scheduled for a bout against Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in Vancouver.
