Comic-Con 2014: Marvel Announces Another 2018 Movie

The announcement brings Marvel's 2018 releases to three. It's early at Comic-Con 2014, but the news is already starting to flow from the event. Ready to make a big splash, Marvel has announced another release date for an untitled film, this one May 4, 2018. This brings the total number of Marvel films in 2018 to three, and that's not counting other studios which own properties like Spider-man and X-Men. The news comes less than a week after Mouse House claimed five additional other dates from 2017-2019. The news is almost as important as the Wednesday news that Sony had vacated that date for The Amazing Spider-Man 4 as part of its reshuffling of the franchise. But what about learning the actual titles to all of these films? It's clear that we'll get news about many of them this week, as it presents in Hall H on July 26. It's possible that the May 4, 2018 could be set as a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, but we're hoping for something more

5 Films Dates Have Been Set For The Marvel Universe

Marvel Studios continues to fill out its calendar and has announced the release dates for five upcoming films. The titles have not been revealed, but the dates revealed on Marvel.com Friday are for July 28 and Nov. 3, 2017; July 6 and Nov. 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019 . Marvel's upcoming films include Guardians of the Galaxy on Aug. 1 , Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015 , Ant-Man on July 17, 2015 , and Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016 . Scott Derrickson is attached to direct an upcoming Doctor Strange movie, while third outings for Thor and The Avengers are expected. The Marvel.com announcement teased fans should stay tuned for more on "the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe." Marvel heads to Diego Comic-Con July 26 at 5 p.m., which could be where some of these titles are revealed. Last year's Marvel panel revealed the title and villain for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel’s Agent Carter Gets A Series Order

ABC is doubling down on Marvel TV shows. First, Agents of SHIELD is returning for a second season. That move was pretty widely expected, despite the show’s somewhat modest ratings performance. Plus, ABC has also greenlit to series its Captain America spin-off Agent Carter (or, as the studio insists it’s titled, Marvel’s Agent Carter ). Official description of the new series from ABC: “ Marvel’s Agent Carter ,” starring “ Captain America’s” Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain

June's Best Month Ever Erases Most Of Hollywood's Slide, But Problems Remain Going Forward

June's Best month Ever Erases Most Of Hollywood's Slide, But Problems Remain Going Forward By; MattInRC With six months of the 2013 movie season completed, we learn why Hollywood needed a strong June. Read on to find out why! Believe it or not, I do sometimes pay to see a movie. But as a guy who reviews over 100 films a year for free, I have noticed just how empty theaters were during the last quarter when a film wasn't free. I equate it to visiting a funeral home and their unfortunate guests, with morose looks similar to the faces of theater managers who couldn't figure out what why their loved one had suddenly passed on. Who could blame them: 2012 was one of the most productive years for movies, both in terms of critical acclaim and box office receipts. With nothing on the scale of The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises in the pipeline to encourage high traffic, the trend had to favor downward. But no one was prepared for the avalanche: simply put, the firs

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Teaser Promo

It might have been an all-but foregone conclusion, but it’s still good to bring word that Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (or, as we’ll all be referring to it to save time, S.H.I.E.L.D.) has handily scored a place on the ABC network’s schedule across the pond. Now the first teaser footage of the show is online. Featuring Clark Gregg as the myseriously re-incarnated Agent Phil Coulson, the show will focus on a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward ( Brett Dalton ), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May ( Ming-Na Wen ) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz ( Iain De Caestecker ), brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons ( Elizabeth Henstridge ) genius biochemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and compu

Pepper Potts' Gets Her Own Iron Man 3 Poster

In the beginning, there was Aldrich Killian . Then there was James Rhodes as Iron Patriot . After that, we had The Mandarin. Today Empire got an exclusive poster, it's Pepper Potts' turn, with Gwyneth Paltrow cradling Iron Man's helmet in her hands in the latest Iron Man 3 poster. With a huge gash down the front of its face - and its eyes somehow still glowing - the detached metallic noggin is ominous in the extreme, reinforcing the general air of things-are-going-to-get-hairy pervading Iron Man 3's poster run so far. Perhaps this helmet is the same one seen beneath The Mandarin's boot in his poster? Or, knowing Tony, perhaps this is just one of many different suits that may or may not have something to do with Killian's Extremis virus. Please Leave A Comment-

Iron Man 3 Character Poster. Welcome Aldrich Killian

Behold the slick visage of super-scientist Aldrich Killian , as played by Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3 . This is not the kind of bespoke tailoring and peroxide highlights you'd find on, say, James Dyson. No, Pearce, fresh from catapulting the human race into hammerpede-y hell in Prometheus, is playing another svelte but ethically challenged boffin whose pioneering research could - could - be more likely to endanger us all than win him an OBE. Shane Black's Marvel movie sees Killian working alongside Rebecca Hall's fellow brainaic Maya Hansen to harness the power of nanotechnology. It's a plot thread inspired by Warren Ellis' immensely influentual Iron Man: Extremis arc. Those familiar with that six-issue run of the comic-book won't be shocked to discover this sentence featuring the words "dangerously powerful new tech", "falling into" and "the wrong hands". Judging by the trailers to date, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark wil

New IRON MAN 3 Poster & Teaser Trailer

Teasers for trailers appear to be a marketing trend that is sticking around, at least until studios figure out how to shoot ads directly into our brains. But when the latest short tease offers a glimpse at new Iron Man 3 footage, we’re not going to complain too much. Check it out below. It’s all part of the campaign around the film’s Super Bowl TV spot, which will debut on Sunday during the game. The Super Bowl has been a big market for short film trailers for several years now, and the studios spend millions buying ad time. This year, we can expect to see spots for Star Trek Into Darkness, The Lone Ranger, The Fast And The Furious 6, Oz The Great And Powerful and Oblivion . Plus World War Z will apparently have something during the pre-game segment. At this pint, we’d like to have seen a zombie half time show… But back to Iron Man 3. In addition to the spot tease, Marvel has also put a new poster online, which shows that Tony Stark will really have a very, very bad day in the

New Iron Man 3 Image. Tony Is Beat Up

If there's one thing the world can take from Iron Man 3 's trailers and stills so far, it's that our man Tony Stark doesn't have the best time of it after the events of The Avengers . He may have got the girl now, but the top of Stark tower is in ruins and now his Californian pile has been totally Lethal Weapon 2-ed by Ben Kingsley's The Mandarin. Then there are the shots of everyone's favorite genius billionaire playboy philanthropist in a seriously duffed up suit. IRON MAN 3 Trailer Is Here- A guessing man would presume this is after Tony's been blasted into the water and before he takes off his armour and carries it on a sled through the snow. But that's what a guessing man would say. Non guessing men (or women, for that matter) will have to wait until further details come to light. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

IRON MAN 3 Trailer Is Here. Are You Ready?

It's finally here. The first trailer for IRON MAN 3 . Marvel’s “ IRON MAN 3 ” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley ,“Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appear

Iron Man 3 Poster, Trailer & Images

Six Iron Man 3 stills have emerged online thanks to Facebook and USA Today , as well as a brand new Extremis-hinting teaser poster. Sit back in awe at the American-ised War Machine! Marvel (TM) at Tony Stark's awesome new ocular equipment! Hail a fresher, funkier version of the arc reactor! It's all here, and it's all in preparation for the new, full trailer, set to hit the web early tomorrow morning. Given his propensity for self-promotion, it was only a matter of time before Tony Stark cottoned on to the idea of teasers for trailers. So it is that Iron Man 3 has succumbed to this most modern of marketing ideas, launching a Facebook page and encouraging fan “likes” to unlock a new glimpse of the trailer. Take a gander above. See all the images after the Jump... It’s a very brief snippet of what we can expect on Tuesday, but certainly offers a few interesting nuggets, including Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts in no small amount of agony and a very qui

Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D TV Show Heading To ABC

ABC has ordered a pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D , a live-action series from The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon, Marvel TV and ABC Studios. The project is based on Marvel’s peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D (which stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate or Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division ) found in both the Marvel comic book and feature film universes, including the blockbuster 2012 movie The Avengers, in which S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury , recruits Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, and Thor to stop Thor’s adoptive brother Loki from subjugating Earth. S.H.I.E.L.D. will be written by Whedon and frequent collaborators, his brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. Joss Whedon also is set to direct the pilot, schedule permitting. Production on the pilot, which marks the first live-action Marvel TV project to get a green light, will start immediately. Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Tancharoen executive produce

Iron Man 3 Comic-Con Panel Recap And New Suit Image

Move over, Game of Thrones – last night at Comic-Con, Hall H became the real House Stark as Marvel unveiled a stunning reel of footage from Iron Man 3 . Not bad going for a film that’s only just started production. But then, showing footage from an Iron Man movie has already become something of a tradition, and good luck charm, for Marvel at Comic-Con. And with interest in Ol’ Shellhead never higher following Six Characters In Search Of A Shawarma Restaurant (or The Avengers, if we must be pedantic), the roof was in danger of obliteration as Robert Downey Jr . took to the stage, swaggering his way through the crowd like a rock star, Iron Man glove on one hand, a la Michael Jackson, and cued the footage… which provoked as many questions as it answered. Spoilers exist within, so be warned: On a day that began with the fairly controversial debut of Stark’s gold-and-red Mk VII I armour on the Comic-Con floor, it seemed somewhat apt that the clip should also kick off with it. And so it

Iron Man 3 Concept Art Comic-Con Exclusive

After being told by Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige that Tony Stark would be be "cut off from the world and need to focus on his intellects to get himself out of his situation", it was a wonder just how Iron Man 3 writer/director Shane Black would go about it - but now this concept art offers some tantalising clues. Dubbed ' Caged ' by the artist, Ryan Meinerding, the piece shows Mr. Stark in a rather awkward situation: somehow he's ended up with only part of his suit on when he's surrounded by armed assailants. Has his suit been removed (in part) by others? Is this a new suit entirely, with the unusual alternate finger-colouring and all? Is this, in fact, the Extremis armour? Those who've read the Extremis arc of the comic books will be able to draw their own techno-organic and nanobot-based conclusions, but all in all, it's another intriguing glimpse into this new, somehow Avengers-less world of Mr. Stark. Chris Hemsworth In The Heart Of The Sea

Chris Hemsworth , who has been in the middle of two of the summer’s big films in The Avengers and Snow White And The Huntsman , is in the center of the hot package making the rounds right now, even though it’s not exactly a brand new package. Hemsworth is attached to star in In The Heart Of The Sea , which is the disaster tale that inspired Melville’s Moby Dick . Based on the National Book Award-winning book by Nathaniel Philbrick, In The Heart Of The Sea is the fact-based tale of Nantucket whaling ship the Essex, which was stalked and ultimately destroyed by a sperm whale in 1820. Stranded thousands of miles from home, the crew struggled to survive; they were lost at sea for 90 days. Eight were rescued. This version of the project has Joe Roth producing with Paula Weinstein, Will Ward and Palak Patel. The latter, who works with Roth, used to work for Weinstein and is a big reason this project has gotten another chance to get made. I hear that DreamWorks has the inside track on

Iron Patriot Not In IRON MAN 3

UPDATE : A week or so ago we brought you the story  , based on some pap shots that seemed to suggest the star-spangled Iron Patriot armour (or possibly Detroit Steel) would be showing up in Iron Man 3 . Not quite the case, according to some more digging by Latino Review : it's apparently a snazzily updated version of Don Cheadle's War Machine armour . This is what happens when the US Government (and Hammer Industries?) gets hold of a Stark suit... If you'd rather avoid knowing any further details, you'd best bail out now. Still here? Right, Mandarin first. Jon Favreau (director of the first two films, and still playing Happy Hogan in the third) said ages ago that the not-so-politicaly-correct evil genius and Ten Rings honcho would be likely to make an appearance in the future. The word on the street here though, is that he's only a secondary villain in this instance, likely providing shadowy back-up for Guy Pearce's Aldrich Killian. With Extremis the premi

Justice League Film Is Gaining Steam

If teaming up worked for Iron Man, Thor and The Hulk , it has to work for Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman , right? Warner Bros. Pictures seems to think so, as Variety reported yesterday that the studio has hired a new writer to bring DC Comics' " Justice League " to the big screen. Just as " The Avengers " assembled the biggest heroes from Marvel Comics, "Justice League" would see DC's iconic characters joining forces to save the world. (DC Comics is a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment.) The fact that "The Avengers" is now the third highest-grossing film of all time with $1.3 billion worldwide seems to have reignited the fire to get the other legendary superhero team up on movie screens. Variety's report states that Will Beall, who wrote the upcoming " Gangster Squad " (starring Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin) for Warner Bros., has been hired to take on the screenplay. Beall previously wrote for TV's &quo
