Futurama voice actors are going to keep their Jobs.

Futurama voice actors are going to keep their Jobs.
It looks like the voice actors are going to keep their Job after all.

Futurama star Maurice LaMarche, who voices a number of roles on the show—I counted 126 of them on IMDB.com, including Kif Kroker—confirms that that the original cast will back when the show is resurrected in 2010.

"Officially, my deal is done," LaMarche said Friday in an exclusive interview with SCI FI Wire. "While I can't speak for the rest of the cast, I see no reason not to expect all the others will do the same by day's end."

LaMarche's comments confirm a report in the Toronto Star.

The newspaper reports that the entire voice cast has just signed a new contract with Fox after weeks of intense salary negotiations:

As late as last week, the network was threatening to replace the original voices of Matt Groening's cult-hit cartoon, to the point of actually announcing a casting call for voice actors to replace them.
The compromise agreement, with the studio paying more and the actors accepting less, comes after the announcement of a 26-episode pick-up here by Comedy Central.

"I am extremely grateful to all the fans of Futurama who signed petitions and sent e-mails, both to Fox to profess their dedication to the original cast, and to me, personally, to express their support," LaMarche said. "All the love has been great, and it has meant the world to me. I know how very fortunate I am to have found a career in this profession, and even more fortunate to be working with such incredibly talented people as Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. And I'm hugely grateful to 20th Century Fox TV and Comedy Central to be back working on the funniest and most original animated show in prime time! Futurama am the greetest! And me am returning for a not no good raisin!"

At this past week's Comic-Con in San Diego, the producers of the show said that they were trying to come to an agreement, despite reports that 20th Century Fox Television was considering recasting the voices when the show returns to Comedy Central next year.

In addition to his multitude of roles on Futurama, LaMarche voiced the Brain in Pinky and the Brain and numerous characters on King of the Hill, Johnny Bravo and, of course, The Simpsons.

Hulk's Edward Norton Keeps Quiet about reprising his role in Avengers

Hulk's Edward Norton Keeps Quiet about reprising his role in Avengers.

With The Avengers gearing up while three Marvel character films—Iron Man 2, Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America—are in the works, Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige didn't even know if the Incredible Hulk would be part of the ultimate team-up.

Edward Norton played Bruce Banner in the reboot, The Incredible Hulk,, and the actor gave a careful "no comment" when asked if he would reprise the role in The Avengers.

"I probably won't comment on that just because they keep a pretty tight rein on what they are letting out," Norton said in a group interview today in Pasadena, Calif., where he was promoting the documentary By the People: The Election of Barack Obama as part of the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

Deferring to Marvel suggests a cordial relationship with the studio. Rumors surrounded the release of The Incredible Hulk that Norton was not happy with the final cut. Already he seemed an unusual participant in a major superhero movie, and the scant press he did fueled rumors that he preferred an alternate cut of the film. Now he is suggesting that he's following company orders.

"I'll let them [address it]," Norton said.

For fans of Norton's film, the good news is that he did not say no to participation in The Avengers, nor he did he seem unhappy about the question. After all, if he'd had his fill, he would have just dismissed it and moved on. Respecting Marvel's secrecy might mean that he's hoping they give him a call. Of course, maybe they'll just use the CGI Hulk and not include pesky human Banner in The Avengers at all?

Is Rob Marshall skipper the next Pirates movie?

Is Rob Marshall skipper the next Pirates movie?

Will Rob Marshall step in for Gore Verbinski directing the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie? That's the report on Variety, which adds that Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow and that production is on track for a 2010 production start:

There hasn't been a director at the helm of the pirate ship since April, when Gore Verbinski stepped out to focus on a movie version of the video game Bioshock for Universal. ... Though that film's lost some momentum, Verbinski has moved on to other directing and producing projects. ...

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have been meeting with a number of directors in recent weeks, because the studio wants to pull the Pirates film together and have Depp star in it before he does The Lone Ranger for the producer and the studio. While Marshall's involvement wasn't immediately confirmed, sources said things look good enough that the studio has begun casting new characters that will appear in the picture.

Marshall made his feature directing debut with the Oscar-winning musical Chicago and most recently completed the musical Nine. Read more...

Is there an Alien Prequel in the Works with Ridely Scott Directing?

Is there an Alien Prequel in the Works with Ridley Scott coming back?
I sure hope so. With the last movie they put out under this franchise,it was done so bad.
With this being a prequel, Where does Sigourney Weaver's Charter of Ripley fit in? If she does at all? Time will only tell.

Twentieth Century Fox is resuscitating its "Alien" franchise. The studio has hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel that has Ridley Scott attached to return as director.
Spaihts got the job after pitching the studio and Scott Free, which will produce the film.

The film is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film that Scott directed. It will precede that film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship returning to Earth is awakened and sent to respond to a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them.

The deal gives Fox another chance to keep the "Alien" franchise alive. There were three sequels to Scott's original, but it is the first time the director has set his mind on directing one.

Spaihts has become a go-to-guy for space thrillers. After Keanu Reeves became attached to his Warner Bros. sci-fi script "Shadow 19," Reeves hired Spaihts to write the space journey epic "Passengers," which is berthed at Morgan Creek. That script got Spaihts the meeting with Fox and Scott Free, and he won the job with an "Alien" reboot take that the studio and Scott loved.

Fox has separately hired him to rewrite "The Darkest Hour," which Timur Bekmambetov to produce with Tom Jacobson. Spaihts is writing "Children of Mars" for Disney and Scott Rudin, and he will follow by rewriting "St. George and the Dragon" for Sony and Red Wagon.

Is this the First images of Volturi clan From Twilight New Moon?Spoiler Alert

Latino Review has posted what appear to be leaked images of the Volturi, the aristocratic clan of vampires, as depicted in Chris Weitz's upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon, after the jump.

The Volturi are the equivalent of a royal family to vampires. They operate from the city of Volterra, Italy. The Volturi have existed for at least three thousand years, if not more. They are the largest coven in existance, followed by Carlisle's family and Tanya's. However, they do not follow a "vegetarian" diet, as seen in New Moon, in which they capture and murder several humans in a carefully planned "meal". They are considered the de facto royal family of vampires, as they are the largest and most influential coven in existence . The Volturi deal swiftly and decisively with anything they consider a threat to their city, or the vampire world. They destroy anyone who attempts to overthrow them, or resist their authority and, at Caius' insistence, have hunted werewolves (true werewolves, not shape-shifters) to near extinction in Europe and Asia.
Although they are not the 'official' royal family of vampires, they still act as though they are, and are an incredibly influential coven. They are also considered 'nighttime patrons of the arts'; as, because of their inability to sleep, they study the arts at night. The Volturi act as guardians, keeping the secret society of vampires hidden from the human world as needed. They often send others to travel from Volterra to destroy overzealous covens from exposing vampires by mass eradication of every vampire (and any humans) present. In the Twilight series, the Volturi are becoming an increasing problem, as they want Bella turned into a vampire as soon as possible, while Edward opposes the idea. They also went to Forks, Washington to destroy Victoria's evil coven of young vampires, as they were being a menace to the neighbouring city, Seattle. However, by the time they arrived, the fight had already ended and the werewolves had to escape as the Volturi do not tolerate truces with werewolves. In addition, in the last book "Breaking Dawn" they are seen to come to destroy Renesmee as they wrongly think she is an "Immortal Child" along with those who created and protect her.

The Volturi are known for their amazing and special powers. Jane and Alec, twins and members of the guard, are credited and worshipped for having the most useful powers. Jane can cause someone to believe that they are feeling pain. This excruciating pain makes it easy for the Volturi to attack and destroy their enemies. Alec's powers are also useful when attacking the enemy. He can cut off all senses making the prey unable to see, hear or feel anything, enabling them to kill the victims without a fight. Aro, one of the leaders, can hear every single thought a person/vampire has ever had. The only way he can do this is if he has physical contact. Marcus, also one of the leaders, can sense relationships. Demetri, a member of the guard, is a tracker. He can track a person down once he has the tenor of their mind. He is known as the best tracker in the vampire world. Renata, also a member of the guard is a shield. She shields Aro and stands by his side at all times. She is described in Breaking Dawn as being so close to Aro it appears she is touching him, moving with him as "being so close , her hands slightly outstretched, her hands look to be "stuck" on Aro's cloak. She shields physical attacks. When the person/vampire is attacking she repels them by confusing them. They end up going in a different direction and are unaware of what they were doing in the first place. Chelsea, another member to the guard, can manipulate the ties of relationships. This is useful when The Volturi want a specific vampire to join them. Also useful is how she can loosen the binds of The Volturi's enemies, turning them against each other. They formerly had the services of Eleazar, who could see abilities or potential abilities in vampires and humans, though he left after meeting his soulmate, Carmen.

Before the Series The Volturi coven was founded by Aro. When the coven was strong enough, the Volturi usurped control of the vampire world from the Romanian Coven. At some point the Romanian coven tried to regain control, but the Volturi defeated them.

The Volturi have ruled the vampire world for centuries by the start of the series. During that time, they did a number of things to ensure stability in the world, including eradicating the Immortal children and cleaning up after the Vampire Wars in the southern parts of America. At some point, Caius was almost killed in a fight with a werewolf. Becoming terrified of his people's mortal enemies, he pushed the Volturi to hunt them to near extinction in Europe and Asia.

At one time, Marcus and his wife Didyme, who was also Aro's sister, planned on leaving the Volturi. Aro was upset by this, but appeared to give them his support. However, Aro later secretly killed Didyme to prevent Marcus from leaving.

Carlisle, at one time, came to stay with them. The Volturi liked him greatly, but were unable to persuade him to hunt humans instead of animals. Carlisle eventually left, and established his own coven in America. Eleazar also was once part of the Volturi Guard, but left with Carmen. The two later found the Denali Coven and stayed with them.

[edit] TwilightAlthough they don't make any appearances in Twilight, Aro, Marcus and Caius are mentioned by Edward as the inspiration of the gods in several Italian paintings that belong to Carlisle.

New Moon
The Volturi are first introduced in New Moon.
Near the beginning of the book, Edward says to Bella that irritating them was a sure fire way to get yourself killed. When Edward thought Bella was dead, he went to Volterra to ask the Volturi to kill him. The Volturi refused, Aro in particular wanted Edward to join them, and Edward decided to force their hand by exposing himself to the humans of the city. Bella and Alice, however, were able to arrive in the city and find him before he revealed himself. Several guards brought the three of them back to Aro, Marcus, and Caius. Aro was intrigued when he saw Bella and when she was immune to all mental powers. After Edward, Alice, and Bella declined the Volturi's offer to join them, the Volturi told them that Bella, because she knew their secrets, had to either die or become a vampire, which Edward will not allow. But Alice was able to convince them to let them go when she said she saw a vision of Bella becoming a vampire in the future.

The Volturi play a very small role in Eclipse. After finding out about an army of newborns created by Victoria, they sent a portion of their guard to destroy the army. But by the time they arrived, they found that the Cullens (with the aid of a werewolf pack) had already eradicated the army. The guard merely killed a young girl named Bree, the only newborn who had surrendered. They promised to come back and check Bella's mortality soon.

Breaking Dawn
Caius was planning to send a hunting party to Forks to see if the Cullens had turned Bella into a vampire. To stop this, Alice sent the Volturi an announcement for Bella and Edward's wedding. The announcement delayed the Volturi because they weren't sure if it meant that they had actually gotten married or Bella had been turned. In the end, Aro decided that they should send Bella a wedding gift-a thick gold-chained necklace with a diamond the size of a golf ball accompanied by a note saying "I so look forward to meeting the new Mrs. Cullen in person" which was worrying to Bella. Some time after this, the vampire Irina informed the Volturi that the Cullens had created an Immortal Child. They gathered the entire guard together and, with their wives, set out to destroy the Cullens. Aro, meanwhile, had another reason for gathering the entire guard: he was determined to bring Alice into the Volturi (there has been some speculation among the Cullens and their allies that Aro had been waiting for an oppourtunity like this for years).

When the Volturi arrived, they found that the Cullens had gathered what appeared to be an army to oppose them, made up of 27 vampires, including their old rivals the Romanians, and a large number of werewolves. In reality, the Cullen's 'army' was really a group of witnesses that could testify that Renesmee, the so called Immortal Child, was really the hybrid daughter of Edward and Bella. Aro was convinced of this after seeing Edward's memories, and Irina admitted she was wrong. Caius, in an attempt to start a fight, ordered the guard to kill Irina. Caius also tried to use the werewolves as an excuse to attack, but Edward said that they were not real werewolves, and Aro agreed, referring to them as shape-shifters. Though they agreed that Renesmee was not an Immortal Child, they were not convinced that she would not become a threat. This almost led to a fight, but the timely arrival of Alice and Jasper changed that: they had found another Hybrid vampire named Nahuel. Nahuel was able to convince Aro that the few hybrid vampires in the world posed no threat, and the Volturi fled, their confidence shattered.

After the confrontation, Edward revealed that Aro was actually scared of a fight breaking out: after finding out about Bella's power to block special abilities that involved the mind (which meant all the Volturi's powers were useless), Aro realized there was a good chance the Cullens and their allies would've destroyed the Volturi. The Cullens and their allies, however, suspect that the Volturi will attempt to avenge the humiliation they suffered in the future. If this happens, they intend to gather again to end the Volturi once and for all.

The thumbnails, with what looks like the Volturi seal, feature Michael Sheen as Aro, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius, Dakota Fanning as Jane and Cameron Bright as Alec.

New Moon opens Nov. 20.

Sony's Legion Panel Review From Comic Con

Sony's Legion Panel Review From Comic Con
By April Meneghetti

Sony panel on Friday show cases upcoming movies:

Legion –The human race has messed up so bad that God sends his angels down to Earth to start an Apocalypse. The archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) does against God, cutting off his wings, and joins a band of strangers in a diner fighting to save the human race. One of those in the diner is a pregnant waitress who turns out to be carrying the savior to the human race.

The trailer starts out with Doug Jones (Abe Sapien from Hell Boy and the Silver Surfer from Fantastic Four) as a very creepy ice cream man. This is a different role for Doug Jones since you actually get to see his face. During the Q & A he was asked if it felt liberating to do a movie without the masks and extensive make-up. He replied that it was a bit like the difference between going out in a sweater and a speedo. He was been going out in the sweater for a while now and all of the sudden he is out there in a speedo. He was worried about looking alright as would anyone out in a speedo.

Director Scott Stewart noted that there was a lot of story to tell that he couldn’t all fit into the movie so there will be a 4 part graphic novel coming out in the fall that will cover the back story to the movie. It was also noted that Paul Bettany’s body is covered in tattoos in the movie and that these tattoos have specific meaning to the story.

NBC Chuck Comic Con Panel Review With info on Season 3 and Photos

NBC Chuck Comic Con Review and Photos

By April Meneghetti

Chuck Saturday panel

The Chuck panel started with a recap of season 2 and then went to a great skit between co-executive producers and creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak and star Zachary Levi. The highlight of the panel came next with Jeffster coming on stage to sing Queen’s Fat Bottomed Girls which was Awesome!

Just about the entire cast was there including: Zachary Levi (Chuck), Joshua Gomez (Morgan), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah), Adam Baldwin (John Casey), Sarah Lancaster (Ellie), Ryan McPartin (Devon aka Captain Awesome), Vik Sahay (Lester), Scott Krinsky (Jeff), and Mark Christopher Lawrence (Big Mike)

Some highlights from the Q & A:aybe Chuck has to pay a price for his new powers? Maybe after using the Kung Fu (otherwise known as Chuck Fu) he can’t walk for ½ hour?

  • Does Chuck now know any foreign languages?
  • Now that a 3-D episode has been done, maybe a musical episode?
  • Possibly a sister for Sarah?
  • Maybe a mom & dad for KC?
  • And my favorite question: Will there be any Chuck action figures? Adam Baldwin replied that he needed another one. To which Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez latched on the idea of their action figures beating up Adam Baldwin’s Jane action figure from Firefly.
  • No real answers for any of the questions but Chris Fedak wrote all the ideas down and I guess we will see if they use any of them in the upcoming season. One idea I have is doing a Halloween episode with all the character dressed up like Comic book characters just like at Comic Con!

Be sure to check back soon for my Exclusive Interview with Chuck's Own Zachary Levi

Bryce Dallas Howard to Replace Rachelle Lefevre in the Twilight Saga

Looks Like Bryce Dallas Howard is going to Replace Rachelle Lefevre as the role of Victoria in the Twilight Eclipse.

Lefevre broke her silence to Access Hollywood, saying she was "stunned" by the decision.

"I was stunned by Summit's decision to recast the role of Victoria for 'Eclipse,'" Rachelle said in a statement to the entertainment show.

Summit attributed the change to schedule conflicts.

Here's the rest of Lefevre's statement:

"I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria," Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. "I turned down several other film opportunities, and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to Barney's Version is only 10 days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part. ...
"I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I've received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit's surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best."

On Wednesday, Lefevre tweeted to her fans: "I am so touched by all your responses and feel incredibly blessed to have fans like you. From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU."

Lefevre played the villainous Victoria in the previous two Twilight movies, including New Moon, which is due Nov. 20.

Tron Legacy from Comic Con Exclusive Pictures and Preview of the Movie

It's not quite a trailer, what you see here. Disney has it labeled "Visual Effects Concept Test Footage." If memory serves, this is the revelatory footage screened at last year's Con, with lightcycle action and Jeff Bridges looking all mean and bearded.

One of the most anticipated films of 2011 is "Tron Legacy," the sequel to the 1982 sci-fi movie "Tron." Disney didn't disappoint fans during their 3-D panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.

Filmmakers and members of the cast, including Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn, introduced footage revealing that the story revolves around Kevin's son Sam.

"I go on search for my father and find myself in this crazy world," said actor Garrett Hedlund, who plays Sam Flynn.

What he finds is that the world of Tron has been sitting on a server and in that time has evolved on its own. "It's become darker and more realistic, feeling more like a photo surreal environment," director Joe Kosinski said.
The footage screened during the panel showed Sam entering the dilapidated Flynn's Arcade, a building that ought to be familiar to fans of the first film. As he walks through the arcade, the games are covered in sheets of plastic and a layer of dust. He fires up the electricity in the building, making all of the '80s-era games turn on.

Sam notices one game in the back of the arcade with a huge neon sign that says "Tron." After unsuccessfully trying to put a quarter into the machine, he notices a groove in the floor. Pulling the arcade game from the wall, Sam Flynn finds an entrance in the wall, so he walks in.

The footage ended there, but as anyone who has heard about last year's Comic-Con knows, Sam's father is trapped inside the virtual world of Tron, and has become a much more menacing character.

Bridges, for whom the capacity crowd cheered loudly when he entered, said that coming back to the role wasn't as hard as he imagined it would be after 27 years. "You think you'd kind of forget those things, but you fall right back into it. It wasn't that difficult," he said.

Bridges said the technology of the Tron world is on a whole new level now. "The first 'Tron,' when we made that, there was no Internet," he said. "So what you saw was so new and fresh. I can guarantee you're going to get that same pop with this one. Everything is going to be superized."

Actress Olivia Wilde said she plays a "loyal confidant" to Kevin Flynn. "I'm a big fan of the original film, and it was just really exciting to be a part of this. That's an understatement," she said.

Kosinski shared shots of Tron City and images of the Gladiatorial Games. The Disc Wars will return, but they'll function like a physical manifestation of a tournament bracket with all of the battles happening at the same time. The high-tech floor of the Disc Wars game board will adjust each time a competitor is eliminated so the winner will have to play his next opponent until only two combatants remain.

What is probably the most recognizable element of "Tron," the Light Cycles, will also return, although they will have gone through several generations. Images were shown of the fifth generation cycle, though Kosinski said there will be a part of the movie that travels back in time to the '80s. There we'll see the second generation of the light cycle, which is alleged to be the fastest thing on the grid.

Steven Lisberger, who was the director of the original "Tron," came back for this movie. He is thrilled with the way the makers of the new film have taken his vision and updated it for modern audiences. "When we did the first film, nothing was real. No one had a PC," Lisberger said. "We got to go to this frontier first and we just got to dream big."

The 3-D footage shown at last year's Comic-Con was then presented again, showing a much colder version of Bridges' Kevin Flynn beating down an opponent on a light cycle.

During the question and answer session of the panel, Kosinski was asked why he decided to have Daft Punk do all the music for the movie. "How could you not at least go to those guys?" he replied, to cheers from the crowd. Although filmmakers didn't have any new 3-D footage to share, Kosinski said there would be plenty more for next year's Comic-Con.

"We've probably got three or four things in this movie that have never been done before, and we're doing them all at the same time," he said. "I promise you that next year at Comic-Con you'll see some things you haven't seen before."

What does this do for you? Feeling any better now that "Tron Legacy" has a proper title and details are starting to fill in?

San Diego Comic Con Recap Part One

Here is part one recap of Comic Con 2009.

    What a Week.

Starting it off was The Craze that is Know As Twilight New Moon. As you can see in this picture this was the line to get into Hall H. And the Twilight Panel was the Third panel that Morning.

I would have to say that I was most excited to see the Tron panel. They really didn't say much about Tron last year during Comic Con except for a teaser trailer. Well this year we got a panel with the Cast and Director. More on the Tron panel Later. Then is was Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I have never been a Huge fan of Tim Burton. But Dammit he sold me on this one. And as a surprise He brought out the one and only Johnny Depp at the very end of the panel. And the CROWD went Wild

Like we all thought the Twilight Panel was CRAZY screaming women and young girls and a few guys. And when they introduced the cast HOLY SHIT. I needed ear Plugs. They Showed footage of the New Movie. Twilight New Moon, and of course they showed only sexy bare chest Scenes, with Jacob taking off his shirt and wiping Bella's head from where she was bleeding. I thought it funny that none of the blood he was wiping was coming off and just out of thin air the blood stopped dripping. I am not into these Twilight Movies But my Wife April sure is. And I don't think I have ever made her scream that loud as she was doing during the entire panel.

Then came up James Cameron's Avatar. WOW!!I was not expecting this. What I Saw am not sure I have seen anything like this before. James Cameron said that this Movie was four years in the making and shit It looks like it is well worth that wait. The 3D effects are top notch. And the Cast Incredible. Oh Yeah. Another Highlight my Exclusive with James Cameron Coming soon.
After all the Hall H panels we braved the Exhibit Hall. And let me tell you that some fan boys need to take more then one shower a day. Yes we got out free swag but made sure we didn't run over any kids. I know that their were more people at the Con that day then any day. Thanks Twilight. I would have to say this was by far the best day of the Con.
Got to see Footage of Tron and My Interview with James Cameron. What could get better then that?
Check back soon for my interview with James Cameron
