Following the extended holiday last weekend, it felt as though the US box office was still slumbering, heavy with Thanksgiving leftovers and little energy for much that was new. No new wide releases emerged, so Pixar's Coco ruled the roost once again, leading a top 10 that was almost unchanged with $26.1 million, according to studio estimates. Managing to stay up despite missing expectations, Justice League saw in its third weekend in second place with $16.5 million, bringing its Stateside total to $197.3 million. Wonder , a considerable success so far, retained third position, adding $12.5 million and climbing closer to $100 million. At fourth, Thor: Ragnarok earned $9.6 million, pushing its own US total to date closer to $300 million. And at the back of the top five pack we have Daddy's Home 2 , which took in $7.5 million. It's another success story for the MCU, and it remains to be seen if Justice League can steal its thunder this coming weekend. EW scored the first look from the upcoming film Thor: Ragnarok Thor: Ragnarok , directed by Hunt For The Wilderpeople's Taika Waititi , finds our hero in even more galactic trouble than usual. Blanchett's Hela, the Goddess Of Death, is accidentally released from prison and intends to cause more chaos than even Begbie from Trainspotting's sequel. Or, say, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, who is still up to his own tricks. She sends Thor to a desolate planet called Sakaar, where he'll face fresh challenges. "It's basically where every wormhole across the universe dumps out its trash, so you get people from all walks of life with all sorts of incredible abilities and powers,” Hemsworth tells EW. "No one cares what prince or king Thor may have been in another world. Also, his strength is pretty easily matched with those he finds himself amongst." And the creatures he'll have to battle in this new world's gladiatorial arena include a familiar face.
