Henry Golding In Talks To Play Snake Eyes In G.I. Joe Spin-Off

Empire is reporting for Henry Golding is in talks to play silent ninja commando Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe spin-off film. Robert Schwentke is on to direct the film with Evan Spiliotopoulos providing the script. It'll be interesting to see how they treat the character, since his trademark is that he never reveals his face and doesn't speak. We'd have to guess that with Golding now circling the lead, the new film will not only have his face on screen, but have him actually saying something. And also? Surely blood-brother-turned-nemesis Storm Shadow will play a part. Paramount and Hasbro have been looking at ways to do more with the Joe franchise, including yet another reboot of the main team in development. As for Golding, he's reunited with his A Simple Favour director Paul Feig for Last Christmas (which just put its first trailer out) and will appear in Guy Ritchie's The Gentleman, out next year. G.I. Joe 3 Will Be Released In 2020

Talk of a a shared movie universe based on Hasbro's toy properties has been ongoing for years, but the conversation hasn't obviously been accompanied by much action. The Transformers franchise has battled on, obviously, but the G.I. Joe films never reached anything like those heights at the box office. Nevertheless, Paramount has finally just announced a release date for G.I. Joe 3 , along with the inevitable Dungeons & Dragons reboot, a Micronauts movie, and something mysterious... G.I. Joe will be with us on March 27, 2020, with Micronaut s following on October 16 the same year. Dungeons & Dragons hits on July 23, 2021. And Untitled Hasbro Film arrives just over two months later on October 1, 2021. Three years ago there was talk of the next G.I. Joe being directed by D.J. Caruso, with a writers room being led by Akiva Goldsman. Whether any of that's still in place is unclear. It seems unlikely that Channing Tatum or Dwayne Johnson will be involved.

Stephen Sommers To Return For G.I. Joe Sequel

Stephen Sommers To Return For G.I. Joe Sequel " G.I. Joe " director Stephen Sommers will return to direct Paramount's sequel. There had been some doubts about whether Sommers would be brought back into the "Joe" fold, as there were conflicting reports across the blogosphere last summer that there had been some tension between Sommers and the studio, but the alleged bad blood appears to have been resolved. Channing Tatum is expected to reprise his role as Capt. Duke Hauser in the sequel, which is still in development at Paramount. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Collider reported earlier this year that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (" Zombieland ") were hired to write the sequel, and I'm told that the studio is happy with the draft they turned in. Sommers will likely produce with Lorenzo di Bonaventura. " G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra " grossed more than $300 million worldwide last year on a reported production budge

"Zombieland" Writers Talking G.I. Joe Sequel. Get Ready For Some New Faces

"Zombieland" Writers Talking G.I. Joe Sequel. Get Ready For Some New Faces I was always a fan of G.I.Joe's as a kid and was super excited when they announced they were going to be making a film,“The Rise of Cobra." But wow was that movie bad. I would have walked out the film if I hadn't paid money for the film. Best part of the film was Ray Park (Snake Eyes) action scenes. I am hoping for a better film with the sequel and the only reason behind my joy is that we got Super talented guys penning the film. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick the guys behind "Zomibeland" They assured us that their “G.I. Joe” sequel will be something closer to the roots of the toyline. So much so, that Reese has already made his own G.I. Joe film… well, kinda. “My very first movie was a ‘G.I. Joe’ movie; I used the little ‘G.I. Joe’ action figures [as my actors],” he said, laughing. “I was like 9; the sad thing was that I figured I could do stop-motion with a video camera - and we
