BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” Trailer

Disney and Pixar’s “ Turning Red ” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang ), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh ), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! Directed by Academy Award® winner Domee Shi (Pixar short “Bao”) and produced by Lindsey Collins “Turning Red releases on March 11, 2022.    Discuss this with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . Disney/Pixar Short Film Sanjay's Super Team First Look

Through the big eyes of a little boy, director Sanjay Patel has animated his journey from a California kid watching cartoons to a man respecting his father's Indian traditions. USA Today scored the first image from the short which will be premiering in front of The Good Dinosaur (in theaters Nov. 25), the Disney/Pixar short film Sanjay's Super Team begins with a scene similar to Patel's own San Bernardino upbringing. Sanjay is glued to the TV and Dad interrupts by ringing his bell for morning meditation. "I knew exactly what that meant: 'Turn off the TV, Sanjay, and get your tail over here. We're going to chant and count mala beads for half an hour,' " Patel recalls, laughing. "And I'm like, 'I don't really want to do that. I really want to watch Voltron.' " Yet the little Sanjay in Super Team finds something cooler than his superhero show when he joins his father: Three Hindu deities come alive to take care of a p

DreamWorks Animation Hits Hard Times

The Incredibles Sequel On It's Way

Walt Disney Company chief Bob Iger said Tuesday that Pixar plans to produce a third installment of its “ Cars ” franchise, and a sequel for “ The Incredibles .” The executive made the announcement during the company’s shareholders meeting in Portland, Ore., providing few other details. “ Cars 2 ,” Pixar’s 12th film, earned nearly $560 million worldwide in 2011; $191 million in the U.S. While somewhat of a critical disappointment, the film, directed by John Lasseter, still minted millions for Disney from consumer products like toys, apparel and other merchandise, a series of “Cars Toons” shorts, and helped spin off the company’s newest franchise, “Planes,” a film that was originally developed as a direct-to-homevideo title but went on to launch its own toy line and earn around $220 million worldwide when it was released theatrically in 2013. A sequel, “Planes: Fire and Rescue” bows July 18. Cars Land also has been a major draw for Disney’s California Adventure theme park in Anah

Toy Story Of Terror Coming In 2013

Though Pixar said an effective (and heartstring-tugging) farewell to the Toy Story characters in the third film, the company hasn’t quite been able to let go. Fortunately, the return trips to the well with the Toy Story ‘toons have been successful so far. Now the Emeryville gang is taking a leaf out of DreamWorks and studio overlord Disney’s books and putting together a TV special for Halloween 2013. So are you ready for Toy Story Of Terror ? The plot finds Buzz, Woody and co on a fun road trip. But when they detour to a roadside motel, things take a turn for the scary. One of the toys goes missing, and the others must work out what’s really going on before they all suffer the same fate… While DreamWorks has capitalised on the scary short form with Shrek and the Monsters Vs Aliens characters, this will be the first time the Toy Story heroes are back outside of the ‘toons and other shorts. Horror – albeit filtered through the TS team – sounds like an odd genre for them, but the

Billy Crystal Talks Monsters University

Billy Crystal is getting schooled by Pixar — and he couldn’t be happier about returning to the “Monsters Inc.” universe and working again with fellow beastie John Goodman . “We’re having a blast together,” Crystal said Friday after a marathon recording session for “ Monsters University ,” which is planned for summer of 2013. “It’s really a great script, it’s really funny.” “That’s why I’m a little hoarse. I spent five-and-a-half hours today for our fourth session on ‘Monsters Inc. 2.’ And I have to tell you something, it is hilarious. The Pixar people are geniuses. It’s 10 years since the first movie. Yeah, it’s crazy. And it’s a prequel. They’re in college. It’s how they met, it’s how Michael and Sully meet, and plan to become scarers at Monsters Inc. — so this movie ends where the other one starts.” Crystal was on stage Friday night at a 20th anniversary screening of “City Slickers,” where he was joined on stage by surprise guest Daniel Stern for a sparkling night of humor and em

Pixar On Their Way To USPS

Better Get Inline For These Great News for all you Pixar fans and stamp collectors. The USPS will be releasing a set of five stamps from previous released Pixar films. Since 1986, Pixar films have stretched the boundaries of our imagination with stories about unlikely heroes who explore the bonds of friendship and family. Now some of those heroes are the subjects of colorful new Send a Hello stamps that encourage people to connect with loved ones through the mail. Read more after the Jump.. The Send a Hello stamps, which go on sale Aug. 19, are a natural outgrowth of the Art of Disney stamp series issued between 2004 and 2008. Originally intended as a series of three annual issuances depicting friendship, celebration, and romance, the Art of Disney stamps proved so popular that the Postal Service expanded the series to include issuances in 2007 and 2008 to celebrate imagination and magic. Based on that success, the Postal Service was eager to work with the Walt Disney Company

Pixar's Cars 2 Delayed Till End Of 2011

Pixar's Cars 2 Delayed Till End Of 2011 Sorry all you Cars fans looks like the film is being pushed back till December of 2011. During Walt Disney Company's first quarter 2010 earnings call on Tuesday, company President and CEO Bob Iger mentioned that Disney•Pixar's Cars 2 will be released in theaters in December of 2011. The film was previously scheduled for a release on June 24, 2011 and this move would leave that release slot empty for now. Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing Green Lantern on June 17, 2011 and Michael Bay's Transformers 3 is targeted for a July 1, 2011 release. We're guessing another movie will quickly jump to June 24 spot, although Paramount moved up Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to a Tuesday night/Wednesday release in 2009, so that is another possibility for the third film. Disney•Pixar had scheduled a December, 2011 release for The Bear and the Bow. We assume that film will be moved as well. In the Brad Lewis-directed Cars 2, all the wor

News From Disney's D23 Convention

News From Disney's D23 Convention I wish I was done there right now hang out with Mickey Mouse and friends. But work calls. So for all of us who could not attend here is a little news for you on the first day of the convention. In his opening address at the first annual Disney fan convention, Iger's brief Marvel-related comments offered promise for the merger of the two behemoths. At a press conference later in the afternoon, Iger expanded on Disney's plans for Marvel and respect for the legacy they've already established. 1) Marvel stays Marvel. Paying homage to "The Mouse"'s tendency to water down material for its family audience, Iger addressed the big worry. "There will be no Disneyfication of Marvel," he said in a press conference. He added that Marvel will continue to work independently. "We plan to keep Marvel as an entity and to respect both the talent that is there, working as one, and also respect what Marvel is and what the essen
