Win Tickets To An Advance Screening For #THEENDOFTHETOUR In San Francisco

Win Tickets To An Advance Screening For THE END OF THE TOUR on Aug. 4th at 7:00PM in San Francisco. THE END OF THE TOUR tells the story of the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter and novelist David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel), which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace’s groundbreaking epic novel, “Infinite Jest.” As the days go on, a tenuous yet intense relationship seems to develop between journalist and subject. The two men bob and weave around each other, sharing laughs and also possibly revealing hidden frailties – but it’s never clear how truthful they are being with each other. Ironically, the interview was never published, and five days of audiotapes were packed away in Lipsky’s closet. The two men did not meet again. The film is based on Lipsky’s critically acclaimed memoir “Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace” about this unforgettab

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim

Sex Tape Red-Band Trailer. Starring Cameron Diaz & Jason Segel

Following the first still and the first poster, here finally is the first trailer for Sex Tape , in all its red-band glory. Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel star as the hapless couple who find a night of intimacy, documented purely for their own amusement, has gone viral (in the internet sense). Shenanigans ensue, wrangled by Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan. As red-band trailers go, it's on the mild side, with nothing more shocking than some semi-nudity and a couple of f-bombs. We knew the basic premise, but the main surprise is how Apple-centric the film has turned out to be, with much talk of iPads and The Cloud. At least it doesn't seem quite as in thrall to its sponsor as the Google-happy The Internship: we particularly laughed at Segel's assertion that The Cloud is something "no one fucking understands". TV Review: How I Met Your Mother - "Vesuvius"

TV Review: How I Met Your Mother - "Vesuvius" By: Brandon Wolfe In 2024, a curiously well-preserved Ted and the Mother are at the Farhampton Inn, the site of Barney and Robin's wedding, attempting to reminisce about the past when the revelation hits Ted that he no longer has any new stories to tell his wife. However, he thinks he has one last new tale up his sleeve, a yarn that begins with Robin breaking a lamp at this very same hotel. With that, we're back in that ceaseless wedding weekend as Robin has shattered a lamp with a puck while playing hockey in her hotel room with her sister, because Robin is Canadian and this show loves dumb Canadian jokes as much as Canadians love hockey. Lily thinks the bride should focus more upon her impending nuptials, occurring just a few hours from now, but Robin prefers to remain blasé about matters, choosing instead to spend the time watching 'The Wedding Bride Too', a Chris Kattan comedy sequel to the movie made a

First Image From Sex Tape Starring Diaz & Segel

With shooting wrapped since late last year, director Jake Kasdan is finishing up post-production on his reunion with Bad Teacher stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel in Sex Tape . Now the first picture has arrived online. The film’s concept finds the pair playing Jay and Annie, a couple who enjoyed an intense connection when they first got together. But ten years and two kids into marriage, things have definitely lost the sparkle. In an attempt to inject a little passion and danger into their relationship, they decide to pack the children off to a friends’ house and make a video of themselves as they try out every position in The Joy Of Sex during one marathon, three-hour session. Of course, when they learn that the video has somehow escaped into the wider world, and they’re just one click away from being exposed (in every sense) to everyone they know, they race to reclaim their footage – and end up learning some hard truths in the process. Whether the film can straddle the l

Rob Lowe Joins Sex Tape

The “Parks and Rec” star, embroiled in real-life sex-tape scandal in the ’80s, wouldn’t miss a movie with that title, right? Rob Lowe has scored a significant role in the Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel comedy “ Sex Tape ” — though it sounds like he’ll be keeping his clothes on this time around. The 49-year-old actor is set to play a mysterious, high-strung toy company CEO who accidentally gets hold of a sex tape the husband-wife pair Segel and Diaz make to rejuvenate their marriage. Rob Corddry plays the pair’s pal who helps them try to steal the embarrassing private performance back from Lowe, while Jack Black is set to play the CEO of a major porn company. Screenwriter Kate Angelo (“The Back-up Plan”) wrote the comedy, which is being directed by Jake Kasdan (“Orange County”). Lowe should bring some unique insight and authenticity to the film, as he was the victim of a sex tape scandal in the late ’80s when a video emerged of him having sex with two women — one 22, the othe

Emma Watson Is At The End of the World

Seth Rogen and longtime writing partner Evan Goldberg are delivering on their promise to populate their directorial debut with cameos. Emma Watson is in negotiations to play herself and Jason Segel and David Krumholtz are set to appear as themselves in End of the World , Rogen and Goldberg’s Sony Pictures project formerly known as The Apocalypse. The project is inspired by a short called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse that featured Rogen and Jay Baruchel playing themselves, holed up in an apartment as they dealt with the end of the world. Expanding upon the short, the story now includes not only Rogen and Baruchel but James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson , all playing themselves, as they are stuck in Franco’s Los Angeles apartment facing an apocalypse. The script has fun with the actors, who might or might not make it out alive. Watson, best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, is in Los Angeles shooting Sofia Coppol

THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT Movie Review By: Matt C

THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT Movie Review By: Matt C If you own a lot of movies, think about those which offer any amount of deleted scenes. These tidbits offer unique insights into directions the film could have taken; watch the scenes from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan or Aliens and don't tell me those shouldn't have been included. But for the most part, deleted scenes end up on the cutting room floor for a reason: they drag down the story, or take it in a different direction that could ultimately lose audiences. That's the problem with The Five Year Engagement, a movie that doesn't know when to say when and ultimately loses audiences with both its weirdness and caravan of unnecessarily strange characters. Engagement tells the story of Tom ( Jason Segel , The Muppets) and Violet ( Emily Blunt , The Adjustment Bureau), who decide to get married after meeting the previous New Years in San Francisco. Tom is a successful sous chef, while Violet is hoping to land

Muppets 2 Is Confirmed. Lasseter Talks Pixar's Next Film

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have been making the media rounds a lot lately, and their stop in Las Vegas yesterday brought some pretty exciting news. It was at Disney's CinemaCon panel that president of production Sean Bailey announced that there will officially be a " Muppets 2 ." This is something we've heard plenty about already, like the fact Jason Segel won't be involved and the movie will introduce plenty of new characters. But it's nice to have the movie finally confirmed by Disney so that we know we can look forward to it coming out... well, eventually. Bailey didn't have any more details to share about the movie other than the fact it is actually happening. However, Disney and Pixar animation chief John Lasseter did have some news about Pixar's upcoming line-up. It turns out the animation studio is trying to bring together a film based around the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos . The movie has no release date yet, but it will b

THE MUPPETS Blu-Ray Review By: Matt

THE MUPPETS Blu-Ray Review By: Matt The Muppets' release to Blu-ray is felt puppet heaven! First off, allow me to admit that I love the Muppets. This goes back to my earliest memories of Sesame Street, to The Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight. It’s this thing I have about insanely funny puppets and the ways they take the seemingly ordinary (staircases, for example) and turn it into something completely classic (“Upstairs, Downstairs”) which makes them so memorable. But the real joy was watching a crusty old man like my father watching the Muppets; his reaction made me realize that these guys knew what they were doing. Fast forward to 2004, when Disney bought the rights to the franchise (minus those Sesame Street characters that weren’t owned exclusively by creator Jim Henson). And while the result was a few funny telefilms (A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie), the final product always left us salivating for something on the big screen. We got our wish last year when The Mup
