Star Wars Live Action Show May Be Closer Then We Think

Star Wars Live Action Show May Be Closer Then We Think

We got news this week about a kids show about Star Wars and now we have the real news that all of us want. We all want to know what is going on with the live action Star Wars TV series, and when we will it arrive in our galaxy.

The million dollar answer maybe right around the corner. According to Maureen Ryan from The Chicago Tribune. That's because Lucas and executive producer Rick McCallum want all the scripts for the show's first season to be completed before production begins.
"They are working with writers on scripts," a Lucasfilm representative said in response to a query. "They won't set a production date [for Season 1] until the scripts are done."
But work on the unnamed show's scripts appears to be at an advanced stage—which isn't surprising, considering the writing of the live-action show began two years ago.

Bounty hunters and minor characters from the "Star Wars" universe of books and games are said to be the focus of the new show, which takes place in the time frame between "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." It may have a few familiar faces, and when I talked to Lucas himself about the show I asked the question:
Will Boba Fett Being making an appearance in the show and will Daniel Logan be playing him in the Television Show?
He replied:
(With a smile) It is too early to say, but you never know.
Lucas and McCallum recruited writers from all over the world, including the UK and Australia, to work on the TV series, which Lucas is financing himself.  The show is being developed independently by Lucasfilm with writers from all over the world and has not found a home on any TV network yet.

As for casting?

"They met with people in several countries (including Australia) early on but they are not currently casting. They are not going to start casting until the scripts are completed," according to the Lucasfilm rep.

ABC's FlashForward Dying In The Ratings

ABC's FlashForward  Dying In The Ratings

If your a fan of the ABC's show FlashForward you better past the word onto your friends and ask them to start watching the show.  Cause if the rating's don't turn around soon we may not be getting a second season of the show.  Thursday's two-hour return of ABC's sci-fi drama FlashForward had the show's lowest ratings yet, partly because of competition from basketball playoffs on CBS.

The two-hour "FlashForward" (6.6 million viewers, 1.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) was down 10% from its last original episode back in December. If the show continues to perform at this level, the ABC drama's next blackout might be the show winking off the air.

With the rating this low there is little hope that the show will be returning for a second season.  Canadian SF writer Robert J. Sawyer—on whose book the show is based—remains sanguine. In a post on his Facebook page, the author wrote:

On the other hand, my Hollywood agent, who is much more savvy about these things than I am, just emailed to say he thinks FLASHFORWARD still has a good shot at a second season, despite last night's ratings—and it's certainly true that a lot of very-high-level conversations have been going on at ABC lately on that topic. Fingers crossed!

FlashFoward airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Chris Evans Front Runner To Play Captain America

Chris Evans Front Runner To Play Captain America

Chris Evans is inching one step closer to playing Steve Rodgers in the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America film. Chris  has already worn a super hero costume having starred as Johnny Storm, the fire-covered superhero in the two “Fantastic Four” movies that Fox released in 2005 and 2007.

Evans' offer would include starring in up to three "America" movies plus "The Avengers" movies and appearances in several other Marvel movies. While an offer to star in "America" may seem like something you don't have to mull over too long, one possible complication is that Evans is committed to co-starring in the Anna Faris romantic comedy "What's Your Number?" Both are scheduled to shoot this summer.

Evans wasn’t in the initial round of actors being considered, which for the most part leaned to the newcomer side. Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Scott Porter, Wilson Blethel and Mike Vogel, on top of John Krasinski and Chace Crawford, were those testing and reading. Garrett Hedlund was also someone Marvel was interested in.

Warner Bros. To Shift Focus To DC Comics And 3D

Warner Bros. To Shift Focus To DC Comics And 3D

Yesterday during ShoWest Warner Bros President Alan Horn revealed that all their future tentpole films will be in 3D.and he also announced that all of their DC Comics movies and big special effects films, will be released in 3D. This means we can probably expect the new Superman and Batman to be in 3D as well, as long as Chris Nolan approves of it. However, he also said that they'll look at each project individually and determine whether it's best to shoot in 3D or convert into 3D on a movie-by-movie basis.

Also during the event, Horn announced that Warner Bros. will be focusing more on the DC Comic properties to take the place of the Harry Potter franchise once the series ends in 2011. This is great news for comic book fans around the world. Now we can see the super Heroes jump off the pages of comic book and onto the big screen.

That statement came after Horn joked about how he tried to convince J.K. Rowling to let them continue on with more movies, but she wouldn't. So with a big open spot in their budget where those movies used to be, they'll be re-focusing on DC moving forward. I really love Warner Brothers and all the decisions they make. Their team, from Alan Horn on down to their marketing and publicists, is one of the best in the biz!

Alan horn said the reason was because “we can’t resist.”

Yes when the first film came it was fresh and new, second so-so after you have seen one you have seen them all. But making the last one in 3D and being such a horrible film why would they want to torture us with another film.

Jamie Foxx To Star Opposite Bruce Willis In Kane & Lynch

Jamie Foxx To Star Opposite Bruce Willis In Kane & Lynch

We learned today that Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to star opposite Bruce Willis in "Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that veteran stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane is helming. I was never a huge fan of the video game but the combination of Foxx and Willis has got me interested in the film.

Nu Image/Millenium is in talks to finance and produce, with Lions Gate distributing.

The game follows Kane (Willis), a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch (Foxx), is sprung by Kane's former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter.

Tim Burton To Direct Addams Family 3D Animation Film

Tim Burton To Direct Addams Family 3D Animation Film

Tim Burton is going to be jumping on board for the upcoming 3D Addams Family animation film, the film will be based on Charles Addams' original ghoulish cartoon drawings of The Addams Family, the pictures were once a staple of The New Yorker magazine.

Other than being inspired by the same source material, the animated feature is unrelated to previous incarnations of Addams’ work, the 60s TV series, the two `90s feature film comedies that Barry Sonnenfeld directed with Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston, or the Broadway musical opening this spring with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth in the starring roles.

Burton's history with animated films run deep, the last animated film he directed was Corpse Bride and is making a feature version of Frankenweenie, the 1984 30-minute short film Burton made about a boy who reanimates his dead dog. That reportedly got him tossed off the Disney lot for making a film too terrifying for a family audience, but the film has since become a cult favorite. Burton recently produced 9, as well as the delightful stop-motion animated The Nightmare Before Christmas, for which he wrote the story.

Teaser Trailer For Megamind Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt

Teaser Trailer For Megamind Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt

Here is your first look at "Megamind" Starring Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. DreamWorks Animation is really putting out the films in their animation department. Looks like they are trying to keep up with Disney/Pixar films. I am not for sure that I would want to go see this film, but being a father of two little kids I am sure I will make my way out to theaters.

Here's the Story Synopsis:

Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known. And the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way. Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as 'Metro Man,' an invincible hero until the day Megamind actually kills him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans. Suddenly, Megamind has no purpose. A supervillain without a superhero. He realizes that achieving his life's ambition is the worst thing that ever happened to him. Megamind decides that the only way out of his rut is to create a new hero opponent called 'Titan,' who promises to be bigger, better and stronger than Metro Man ever was. Pretty quickly Titan starts to think it's much more fun to be a villain than a good guy. Except Titan doesn't just want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it. Now, Megamind must decide: can he defeat his own diabolical creation? Can the world's smartest man make the smart decision for once? Can the evil genius become the unlikely hero of his own story?

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan

Rose McGowan has been added to the cast of the upcoming film Conan. She is set to play an evil half-human/half-witch.

McGowan's casting must cause speculation over the fate of the planned Red Sonja film. After all, last we heard McGowan was set to play the lead, and since that story exists in the same universe as Conan, it's a bit odd to cast her as a very different character here. Either they're messing with Sonja's (admittedly confused) backstory, or they're giving her an evil twin, or that film's gone on the backburner or been recast.

Based on the Robert E. Howard books, the film is written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer, Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel and centers on the mythical hero driven to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village.

Lang will portray a sadistic warlord, and McGowan is to play an evil half-human/half-witch. Howard appears as young Conan, and Perlman portrays Conan's father.

New Star War Animated Series Coming Soon

New Star War Animated Series Coming Soon

IESB has heard from the little birds over at Lucas Ranch, that George Lucas is is currently in pre-production on yet another Star Wars animated series. I am not surprised with this news with the success of the Animated Clone Wars series.

The target audience he is looking for are Pre-School to Kindergarten aged children, yes, the Star Wars: Galactic Heroes will be gracing televisions very soon. And I do have my collection of Galactic Heroes.

Lucas is trying to keep Star Wars alive by going after the younger generation, which is a very smart thing to do. Some kids at that Pre-School age are too young to watch the films so why not go with something they can relate to. Of course most adults have a love for Star Wars, why not start younger?

The working title for the TV series is believed to be "Squishies."

Our First Look At Dwayne Johnson In "Faster"

Our First Look At Dwayne Johnson In "Faster"

Dwayne Johnson makes his way back into adult oriented films with "Faster". Faster, the story of an ex-con (Johnson) who is out to avenge his brother's murder. The film, directed by Notorious' George Tillman, also stars Billy Bob Thornton,Moon Bloodgood,Maggie Grace and Carla Gugino

Johnson steadies the Ruger double-action revolver — known as a "bear stopper" because hunters often carry the gun to stop charging animals — and pulls the trigger. Though he's firing blanks, the thunder echoes through the halls, prompting film crewmembers to cover their ears, though many are wearing headphones.

He fires again. And again. When the gun is empty, he smiles broadly. "That," he says, "feels nice."

How do you know this isn't the Johnson of kid-friendly The Game Plan and Return to Witch Mountain? For starters, Johnson gets shot in the head.

"Isn't that great?" Johnson says with a certain relish. He is clearly at ease in the genre that began his career with films like The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King. "It's fun to come back after a few years," Johnson says. "I always consider acting like an education. You learn something on every movie. I feel like I'm coming to this as a different actor."

Even co-stars are glad to see Johnson back in the action saddle. "Some movies you do for money, some movies you do because they mean something to you personally," Thornton says. "And some movies, like this one, you do for fun. Who doesn't want to be chasing and shooting at The Rock?"

Trailer For The Mechanic Starring Jason Statham

Trailer For The Mechanic Starring Jason Statham

The 1972 film The Mechanic, has been remade and this time it stars bad ass Jason Statham playing the lead role. And Ben Foster starring opposite Statham. The film is directed by Simon West(Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider)

The movie is an action-thriller that centers on an assassin and his apprentice. This trailer is pretty awesome, I love what director Simon West is doing with it, this movie is going to be a classic Statham action flick.

Note that this is a sales trailer, rather than a teaser or final theatrical trailer. It is meant for distributors, rather than audiences. The film doesn’t yet have distribution, and consequently there is no release date or timeframe for a real theatrical trailer. As is often the case with sales trailers, the quality here is a bit low, which doesn’t help minimize the whole TV-ish aesthetic.

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3

Seems like Columbia Pictures doesn't want Ivan Reitman to direct the upcoming film Ghostbusters 3, they feel that they should go in a different direction and get a younger director for the film. In the same sense as they have done to the Spider-Man franchise by hiring on (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb.

But hold on Columbia,Reitman's old contract — made at the height of his and Ovitz's powers — still gives him exceptional creative control over the series, including director approval. "Those deals were made in the eighties,” explains one insider. “So his rights in this circumstance have a great deal of teeth.” Therefore, while it’s true that Reitman can’t force Columbia to make Ghostbusters III with him, he can make it nearly impossible for the studio to make the film without him.

In fact, a source tells us that Reitman and all three original principals (Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis … sorry, Ernie Hudson!) have a deal that says that if any of the four of them don’t like any element of a new Ghostbusters, they can singlehandedly veto and kill the project; it has to be unanimously approved before going forward. (Considering that both Aykroyd and Ramis have been consulting on the story, Murray is likely the only unknown quantity on the actors’ side.) However, the key difference is that Columbia would love for these actors to be onboard to pass the torch and cross the streams. Not so with Reitman.

While the second draft of the script for Ghostbusters III — penned by The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky — won’t be handed in until May, insiders say that by introducing a group of twentysomething 'busters, Columbia's brass hopes to do with the franchise what it's doing with Spider-Man by hiring on (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb.

Either way, the studio might want to revisit the words of Reitman himself from a 1989 Los Angeles Times interview, in which he downplayed the merits of ever doing another GhostbustersGhostbusters II wasn't as much fun to make as the first one," Reitman explained. "In comedy, the element of surprise is everything. And I think once that element of surprise is gone, once people know there's going to be ghosts, there's going to be big ghosts, and they're expecting something big at the end, a lot of the tools that are at your disposal are gone."

HBO's "The Pacific" Scores Decent With The Ratings

HBO's "The Pacific" Scores Decent With The Ratings

HBO's "The Pacific" got off to a fair start on Sunday evening, delivering 3.1 million viewers.

That's 22% higher than the debut of HBO's last miniseries, "John Adams," and "The Pacific" tally grew to 4 million with its encore airing.

Still, HBO has to be somewhat disappointed with this number. "The Pacific" is the biggest production in the network's history and this is only 69% higher than the time period norm.

The miniseries' predecessor, 2001's "Band of Brothers," debuted to 10 million viewers (Nielsen has since changed the way pay cable networks are calculated, however, and these are no longer apples-to-apples comparisons).

Even with its larger premiere number, "Brothers" was considered a slow-starter whose success was secured in heavy repeat viewing and DVD sales. "The Pacific" could easily gather steam too, especially with critics saying the second half of the production is superior to the first.

David Fincher To Direct The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

David Fincher To Direct The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The books are still flying out of the bookstores, and the Swedish film trilogy has just begun its UK release. But lest we forget, Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, has also caught Hollywood's attention.

After some difficult rights negotiations with the still-in-flux Larsson estate, Sony inked a deal for the English-language versions late last year, with Scott Rudin producing and Steve Zaillian having a crack at the first screenplay. And now, according to NY Magazine's Vulture, David Fincher is circling the project.

Also mentioned in Vulture's piece, connected to the heroine role of snarky Asperger's hacker genius Lisbeth Salander is current hot ticket Carey Mulligan, said to be top of the producers' wish list (although it's pointed out that practically every young actress in Hollywood and the UK would kill for the role).

Like Let Me In, this sounds at the moment like a bit of a redundant exercise, following so hot on the heels of a lauded and widely seen original version. But the source material is super-strong, and the involvement of Fincher, back on the crime territory he made his own with Seven and Zodiac, makes this something to look out for regardless.

The Swedish The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, directed by Niels Arden Oplev and starring Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace, is out now The paperback of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is published in the UK on April 1st.

Kick-Ass Spoilers And Some Secrets About The Film

Kick-Ass Spoilers And Some Secrets About The Film

I have been so excited about the upcoming film Kick-Ass since hearing about it at Comic-Con. The film premiered at Austin's South by Southwest film festival.

To watch the trailer for the film click Here.

Director Matthew Vaughn; Mark Millar, writer of the Kick-Ass comic book and screenplay; and stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse spoke to fans at a panel on March 13, and to a group of reporters at a press conference that afternoon.

Here are some secrets, easter eggs and spoilers to keep you excited until the film's April 16 release.

Kick-Ass is the ultimate fighting championship

In the world of Kick-Ass, teenager Dave Lizewski (Johnson) puts on a costume to become crime fighter Kick-Ass. His actions inspire other vigilantes such as Damon (Nicolas Cage) and Mindy Macready (Moretz) to follow suit (pun intended). Every single action scene is different. "Aaron had a different fighting style to Chloe, making it more Hong Kong style in the corridor sequence or Nic Cage doing it all in one take," Vaughn said at the press conference. "I thought, 'Let's just try and make each action scene get better and more interesting.'"

There's an 11-year-old girl beating up thugs!

Did we mention that little Mindy is only 11? She becomes Hit Girl and scores the most kills in the movie by far, even more than her father. "I basically did almost everything except for running up walls and doing insane back handsprings in the middle of the air," Moretz said at the press conference. "Basically, all the shooting and knives and swords and stuff was me."
Don't worry, Hit Girl was safe

Okay, parents, don't send in your hate mail. That preteen actress was perfectly safe doing high-action wirework. "It was completely safe," Moretz said at the press conference. "So safe to where if I got a speck of dust in my eye, they would freak out." To be clear, Vaughn added that everyone was safe, not just the kids. "We have safe sets, whether it's an 11-year-old or a 50-year-old," Vaughn said at the press conference. "She was just part of the team."
It's the greatest hits of superhero movies

Remember the scene in Spider-Man where Peter Parker tests out his new powers on the rooftop? Kick-Ass tries it without the benefit of webbing and genetically enhanced strength. "Spider-Man we tried to do shot by shot, but we couldn't afford to put a crane up there," Vaughn said during the panel. "Literally every scene we were taking things from movies we'd seen before. The Mist-mobile is literally from the Tim Burton Batman. The jetpack is actually meant to be the X-wing fighter shooting the Death Star." Yes, that's a Star Wars reference, too.

You don't know how this ends

Even if you read the Kick-Ass comic book, the movie will surprise you. The climax of the film is different from the final issues of the comic series. "The episodic nature of comics meant I had to have an eight-act story, had to have reveals and twists that would have messed up the nature of the film," Millar said during the panel. "Big Daddy's story in the comic book ... would've ruined the movie. Likewise, the jetpack scene wouldn't have worked in the comic. It was only two or three real diversions it took, but it was just necessary. Whenever somebody slavishly adapts a graphic novel, it can be tedious."

There's a comic book in it

Kick-Ass is such a loving homage to comic books and superheroes, they actually put a comic book in the movie. The film portrays Big Daddy/Damon Macready's history in a two-dimensional comic book that comes to life. Like Kill Bill's anime sequence, only more panel-y. "The idea was it was just too expensive to start trying to make Nic look young," Vaughn said during the press conference. "I hate having different actors play the role, so we thought it'd be a cool idea. I think it paid off. We only finished that about two, three weeks ago."

Look for Hellboy, Runaways and the Spirit in Kick-Ass

There are comic-book references buried in the scenes of Kick-Ass, too. Look at the standees in the comic-book store that Dave frequents. Listen for the name drop of Hellboy's creator. Definitely check the movie theater marquee in the beginning. "They were just our mates," Millar said in the press conference. "Brian K. Vaughan, who does Runaways, is a good pal of mine, and Mike Mignola is a guy that we've known for years. It was funny, in that comic store, all the books that were up front were all the people we like, and all the guys we hate, we put them in the back."

Brad Pitt is Kick-Ass' real-life sidekick

Kick-Ass protects the innocent, but who can save Kick-Ass from Hollywood? Megastar Brad Pitt helped produce the film, and Vaughn turned to him for muscle when he financed the film independently of studios. "Brad was my anchor of how everything worked in America," Vaughn said in the press conference. "When I realized I was sort of declaring war, I thought I might as well have an ally that's like a 10,000-pound gorilla, which he can be in a good way. I sent him the script. He was one of the first people to read the script, and he just loved it. He said, 'Whatever you need to get this thing made, let's just do it.'"

Nic Cage finally gets to play a real superhero

You know Nicolas Cage is obsessed with comic books. He almost played Superman in a '90s movie, and he even named his son Kal-el. Sure, he got to play Ghost Rider with a CGI flaming skull, but putting on a rubber suit to beat up bad guys is the real thing. "Comic books are a very big deal to the guy," Vaughn said in the panel. "He loved it, but the helmet is actually more like from Phantom of the Paradise."
And he did Adam West

Cage also affected an odd accent as Damon Macready, modeled after TV's Batman, Adam West. "The only thing about Dark Knight that drove me nuts was the stupid voice," Vaughn said in the panel. "So we'll have a silly voice as well, but we'll do it in a way that was actually supposed to be silly."

McLovin is the Jack Nicholson of Kick-Ass

You may not have heard of the film's star, Aaron Johnson, but you know Christopher Mintz-Plasse as McLovin. He plays Red Mist, another costumed kid character. Perhaps he's the film's marquee name, like Nicholson in the original Batman. He even gets to say one of Nicholson's key catch phrases. "I definitely YouTubed Jack Nicholson's clip from the original Batman and tried to do the best," Mintz-Plasse said. "I'm not as good as Jack Nicholson. I'm just going to admit that to you guys right now. It's a kid looking up to Jack Nicholson."

You won't believe what they faked in Kick-Ass

It's no surprise that a comic-book superhero movie has a lot of visual effects, but aside from the kids flying a jetpack, you won't even notice what was CGI. "I think there's about 820 visual effects in the film," Vaughn said during the panel. "Hopefully most of them we wouldn't have noticed. We didn't shoot it in New York. We shot mostly in London, so the majority of effects were wire removal, putting in the blood, putting in New York, and obviously we couldn't put these two on a jetpack, so that was CG. All the fights were done in camera. Wire removal sometimes, but not much."
If you like this, buy lots of tickets so we can see the sequel!

Comic-book author and screenplay adapter Mark Millar is already thinking of plans for the further adventures of Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. You won't believe the new supervillain he's planning. Even if you hate Kick-Ass, you'll want to meet the sequel's new cast. "We're talking about another villain as well," Millar said during the press conference. "I'm [deciding] somewhere between the Motherf--ker and the C--t. That's the two names I've got, but it's better than the Joker, isn't it?"

Remember Me Movie Review By:Windy

Remember Me Movie Review
By:Windy

Windy has been on a world wind. First stop was in New York for the premiere of the film Remember Me, she was the lucky winner to get a chance to cover the Red Carpet event for Popsugar.

Make sure to check out the 3 part series starring Windy herself. In the series they follow her from when she finds out that she was the lucky one picked to cover the event and everything in between to the very final moment when she interviewed Robert Pattinson.

You need to make it a point to stop by her site in the upcoming week to get her point of view of the whole experience.

Minor spoilers

“Remember Me”, directed by Allen Coulter and starring Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, Lena Olin and Ruby Jerins, is the story of two people who meet, bond and fall in love as they learn about each other’s families’ heartbreaks and tragedies.

The majority of the film is set in New York City in 2001. We follow Tyler Hawkins (Pattinson) as he struggles to keep his family together six years after a tragedy turns their father (Brosnan) into a seemingly unloving and distant person, satisfied with raising his children by providing them with money but without any love.

Pattinson, in his first breakout American film since the “Twilight” franchise, is surprisingly and exceedingly skilled at playing a son and brother who does everything in his power to take care of those around him (since his father won’t) but is miserable and belligerent himself. Often getting in fights, both physical and verbal, Tyler is a damaged person who is severely affected by the family tragedy and its aftermath.

On a dare, Pattinson asks Ally (de Ravin) out to dinner and she sparks a light in him that had been dim for years. Ally herself suffered a family tragedy in 1991 and, as a result, lives with her over protective father (Cooper). During an outburst at home, Ally leaves and stays with Tyler, where they bond quickly and fiercely, particularly given their similar histories.

Pattinson and de Ravin have palpable chemistry as a young couple struggling to grow up while dealing with their familial challenges. Their interactions seem honest and you truly believe Tyler and Ally care for each other as much as they do.

Brosnan, playing Tyler’s father, Charles, is a brutal, uncaring force in the film. His apathy toward his family is so astounding, you wonder why Tyler continues to try to rebuild the bond lost long ago. Not as much for himself, Tyler is driven by his love for his younger sister, Caroline, upon whom he doesn’t wish the same fate as himself. In a dramatic office scene, Brosnan and Pattinson’s characters shout every thought they’d been holding in for 6 years and the result is a pressure-filled moment with intense ferociousness from both men.

Cooper, playing Neil Crag, Ally’s father, is clearly struggling with his tragedy, though Ally seems to have left it behind years ago. Cooper plays a New York City cop who takes out his frustrations on others both on and off the clock. Abusing his power, he tries to pry Tyler and Ally apart as he struggles to keep what he believes is the only part of his family left with him.

Ruby Gerins , at 11 years old, shows early signs of becoming a brilliant actress. She’s endearing as Tyler’s younger sister and you immediately bond with her as a character. Ruby deals with mature subjects in a way that is so far past her age, you can’t help but understand that Ruby herself is mature enough to play a role of such depth at a young age.

Aiden Hall plays Tyler’s roommate, Tate, and is the small bit of comic relief in the film. The film, however, is so emotionally heavy, that even though the audience might need a bit of relief, his presence can sometimes distract from the emotional depth of a scene.

As Tyler thinks, “Ghandi said “ Whatever you do in life will be insignificant,” we ironically learn that everything Tyler does has more significance than anyone realizes. Just as we see signs of Ally’s and Tyler’s families coming around, and as their love is at its peak, the characters must once again face new tragedy.

“Remember Me” is a film that is filled with love, hate, loss, apathy, turmoil and shock. It’s an emotional ride, but one you don’t want to end.
