Star Wars Live Action Show May Be Closer Then We Think

Star Wars Live Action Show May Be Closer Then We Think We got news this week about a kids show about Star Wars and now we have the real news that all of us want. We all want to know what is going on with the live action Star Wars TV series, and when we will it arrive in our galaxy. The million dollar answer maybe right around the corner. According to Maureen Ryan from The Chicago Tribune. That's because Lucas and executive producer Rick McCallum want all the scripts for the show's first season to be completed before production begins. "They are working with writers on scripts," a Lucasfilm representative said in response to a query. "They won't set a production date [for Season 1] until the scripts are done." But work on the unnamed show's scripts appears to be at an advanced stage—which isn't surprising, considering the writing of the live-action show began two years ago. ABC's FlashForward Dying In The Ratings

ABC's FlashForward  Dying In The Ratings If your a fan of the ABC's show FlashForward you better past the word onto your friends and ask them to start watching the show.  Cause if the rating's don't turn around soon we may not be getting a second season of the show.  Thursday's two-hour return of ABC's sci-fi drama FlashForward had the show's lowest ratings yet, partly because of competition from basketball playoffs on CBS. The two-hour "FlashForward" (6.6 million viewers, 1.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) was down 10% from its last original episode back in December. If the show continues to perform at this level, the ABC drama's next blackout might be the show winking off the air. With the rating this low there is little hope that the show will be returning for a second season.  Canadian SF writer Robert J. Sawyer—on whose book the show is based—remains sanguine. In a post on his Facebook page, the author wrote: On the other hand,

Chris Evans Front Runner To Play Captain America

Chris Evans Front Runner To Play Captain America Chris Evans is inching one step closer to playing Steve Rodgers in the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America film. Chris  has already worn a super hero costume having starred as Johnny Storm, the fire-covered superhero in the two “Fantastic Four” movies that Fox released in 2005 and 2007. Evans' offer would include starring in up to three "America" movies plus "The Avengers" movies and appearances in several other Marvel movies. While an offer to star in "America" may seem like something you don't have to mull over too long, one possible complication is that Evans is committed to co-starring in the Anna Faris romantic comedy "What's Your Number?" Both are scheduled to shoot this summer. Evans wasn’t in the initial round of actors being considered, which for the most part leaned to the newcomer side. Warner Bros. To Shift Focus To DC Comics And 3D

Warner Bros. To Shift Focus To DC Comics And 3D Yesterday during ShoWest Warner Bros President Alan Horn revealed that all their future tentpole films will be in 3D.and he also announced that all of their DC Comics movies and big special effects films, will be released in 3D. This means we can probably expect the new Superman and Batman to be in 3D as well, as long as Chris Nolan approves of it. However, he also said that they'll look at each project individually and determine whether it's best to shoot in 3D or convert into 3D on a movie-by-movie basis. Also during the event, Horn announced that Warner Bros. will be focusing more on the DC Comic properties to take the place of the Harry Potter franchise once the series ends in 2011. This is great news for comic book fans around the world. Now we can see the super Heroes jump off the pages of comic book and onto the big screen. That statement came after Horn joked about how he tried to convince J.K. Rowling to let them c

Another Final Destination Film Coming At You Soon

Another Final Destination Film Coming At You Soon Wasn't the last movie  The Final Destination suppose to be the last film in the series?  At least by the title and how they promoted the film you sure would have thought it was.  The guys over at /Films is reporting that during ShoWest Warner Bros. announced they are indeed going to make a fifth film. Alan horn said the reason was because “we can’t resist.” Yes when the first film came it was fresh and new, second so-so after you have seen one you have seen them all. But making the last one in 3D and being such a horrible film why would they want to torture us with another film. Please Leave A Comment-

Jamie Foxx To Star Opposite Bruce Willis In Kane & Lynch

Jamie Foxx To Star Opposite Bruce Willis In Kane & Lynch We learned today that Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to star opposite Bruce Willis in "Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that veteran stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane is helming. I was never a huge fan of the video game but the combination of Foxx and Willis has got me interested in the film. Nu Image/Millenium is in talks to finance and produce, with Lions Gate distributing. The game follows Kane (Willis), a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch (Foxx), is sprung by Kane's former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Tim Burton To Direct Addams Family 3D Animation Film

Tim Burton To Direct Addams Family 3D Animation Film Tim Burton is going to be jumping on board for the upcoming 3D Addams Family animation film, the film will be based on Charles Addams' original ghoulish cartoon drawings of The Addams Family, the pictures were once a staple of The New Yorker magazine. Other than being inspired by the same source material, the animated feature is unrelated to previous incarnations of Addams’ work, the 60s TV series, the two `90s feature film comedies that Barry Sonnenfeld directed with Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston, or the Broadway musical opening this spring with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth in the starring roles. Burton's history with animated films run deep, the last animated film he directed was Corpse Bride and is making a feature version of Frankenweenie, the 1984 30-minute short film Burton made about a boy who reanimates his dead dog. That reportedly got him tossed off the Disney lot for making a film too terrifying for a family a

Teaser Trailer For Megamind Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt

Teaser Trailer For Megamind Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt Here is your first look at "Megamind" Starring Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. DreamWorks Animation is really putting out the films in their animation department. Looks like they are trying to keep up with Disney/Pixar films. I am not for sure that I would want to go see this film, but being a father of two little kids I am sure I will make my way out to theaters. Here's the Story Synopsis: Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known. And the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way. Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as 'Metro Man,' an invincible hero until the day Megamind actually kills him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans. Suddenly, Megamind has no purpose. A supervillain without a superhero. He realizes that achieving his life's ambition is the

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan Rose McGowan has been added to the cast of the upcoming film Conan. She is set to play an evil half-human/half-witch. McGowan's casting must cause speculation over the fate of the planned Red Sonja film. After all, last we heard McGowan was set to play the lead, and since that story exists in the same universe as Conan, it's a bit odd to cast her as a very different character here. Either they're messing with Sonja's (admittedly confused) backstory, or they're giving her an evil twin, or that film's gone on the backburner or been recast. Based on the Robert E. Howard books, the film is written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer, Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel and centers on the mythical hero driven to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. Lang will portray a sadistic warlord, and McGowan is to play an evil half-human/half-witch. Howard appears as young Conan, and Perlman portrays Conan

New Star War Animated Series Coming Soon

New Star War Animated Series Coming Soon IESB has heard from the little birds over at Lucas Ranch, that George Lucas is is currently in pre-production on yet another Star Wars animated series. I am not surprised with this news with the success of the Animated Clone Wars series. The target audience he is looking for are Pre-School to Kindergarten aged children, yes, the Star Wars: Galactic Heroes will be gracing televisions very soon. And I do have my collection of Galactic Heroes. Lucas is trying to keep Star Wars alive by going after the younger generation, which is a very smart thing to do. Some kids at that Pre-School age are too young to watch the films so why not go with something they can relate to. Of course most adults have a love for Star Wars, why not start younger? The working title for the TV series is believed to be "Squishies." Please Leave A Comment- Source- IESB

Our First Look At Dwayne Johnson In "Faster"

Our First Look At Dwayne Johnson In "Faster" Dwayne Johnson makes his way back into adult oriented films with "Faster". Faster, the story of an ex-con (Johnson) who is out to avenge his brother's murder. The film, directed by Notorious' George Tillman, also stars Billy Bob Thornton,Moon Bloodgood,Maggie Grace and Carla Gugino Johnson steadies the Ruger double-action revolver — known as a "bear stopper" because hunters often carry the gun to stop charging animals — and pulls the trigger. Though he's firing blanks, the thunder echoes through the halls, prompting film crewmembers to cover their ears, though many are wearing headphones. He fires again. And again. When the gun is empty, he smiles broadly. "That," he says, "feels nice." How do you know this isn't the Johnson of kid-friendly The Game Plan and Return to Witch Mountain? For starters, Johnson gets shot in the head. "Isn't that great?" Johnson say

Trailer For The Mechanic Starring Jason Statham

Trailer For The Mechanic Starring Jason Statham The 1972 film The Mechanic, has been remade and this time it stars bad ass Jason Statham playing the lead role. And Ben Foster starring opposite Statham. The film is directed by Simon West(Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) The movie is an action-thriller that centers on an assassin and his apprentice. This trailer is pretty awesome, I love what director Simon West is doing with it, this movie is going to be a classic Statham action flick. Note that this is a sales trailer, rather than a teaser or final theatrical trailer. It is meant for distributors, rather than audiences. The film doesn’t yet have distribution, and consequently there is no release date or timeframe for a real theatrical trailer. As is often the case with sales trailers, the quality here is a bit low, which doesn’t help minimize the whole TV-ish aesthetic. Please Leave A Comment- Source- /Films

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3 Seems like Columbia Pictures doesn't want Ivan Reitman to direct the upcoming film Ghostbusters 3, they feel that they should go in a different direction and get a younger director for the film. In the same sense as they have done to the Spider-Man franchise by hiring on (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb. But hold on Columbia,Reitman's old contract — made at the height of his and Ovitz's powers — still gives him exceptional creative control over the series, including director approval. "Those deals were made in the eighties,” explains one insider. “So his rights in this circumstance have a great deal of teeth.” Therefore, while it’s true that Reitman can’t force Columbia to make Ghostbusters III with him, he can make it nearly impossible for the studio to make the film without him. In fact, a source tells us that Reitman and all three original principals (Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis …

HBO's "The Pacific" Scores Decent With The Ratings

HBO's "The Pacific" Scores Decent With The Ratings HBO's "The Pacific" got off to a fair start on Sunday evening, delivering 3.1 million viewers. That's 22% higher than the debut of HBO's last miniseries, "John Adams," and "The Pacific" tally grew to 4 million with its encore airing. Still, HBO has to be somewhat disappointed with this number. "The Pacific" is the biggest production in the network's history and this is only 69% higher than the time period norm. The miniseries' predecessor, 2001's "Band of Brothers," debuted to 10 million viewers (Nielsen has since changed the way pay cable networks are calculated, however, and these are no longer apples-to-apples comparisons). Even with its larger premiere number, "Brothers" was considered a slow-starter whose success was secured in heavy repeat viewing and DVD sales. "The Pacific" could easily gather steam too, especially with c

David Fincher To Direct The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

David Fincher To Direct The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo The books are still flying out of the bookstores, and the Swedish film trilogy has just begun its UK release. But lest we forget, Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, has also caught Hollywood's attention. After some difficult rights negotiations with the still-in-flux Larsson estate, Sony inked a deal for the English-language versions late last year, with Scott Rudin producing and Steve Zaillian having a crack at the first screenplay. And now, according to NY Magazine's Vulture , David Fincher is circling the project. Also mentioned in Vulture's piece, connected to the heroine role of snarky Asperger's hacker genius Lisbeth Salander is current hot ticket Carey Mulligan, said to be top of the producers' wish list (although it's pointed out that practically every young actress in Hollywood and
