BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Red Dawn Review. Has The War Been Lost?

Red Dawn  Review By: MattInRC Make sure to follow MattInRC on  Twitter  for all his reviews and other exciting news. Red Dawn is a remake that vacillates between gritty war feature and bubble-gum drama, doing neither particularly well. In the genre of war movies, there are generally two kinds that Hollywood produces: ones that display the heavy trauma associated with war; and the mindless, unrealistic action flick that insults our intelligence with its implausibility. Both have their detractors - who can watch Saving Private Ryan more than once per year without wanting to slash their wrists for displaying war in such a graphic manner? In the latter category, the action is so unbelievable - whether it be people surviving a massive explosion or somehow beating someone twice their size - that you never really feel for the characters when they experience difficulty, thus losing any buy-in and therefore interest. Wedged somewhere in-between these is Red Dawn, the remake of

Bond 23 Titled "Skyfall" And Plot Revealed

With the 23rd installment in the James Bond series set to begin shooting today – an impressive feat, considering the film almost didn’t happen at all thanks to MGM’s financial woes – director Sam Mendes and the production team felt this was as good a time as any to have a press conference revealing some key details about the film. And while a lot of the reveals were things we already knew, at least we can finally stop calling the movie Bond 23 . Yes, the latest entry in the longest running movie franchise in history finally has a name. The new film will be entitled Skyfall, which astute Bond fans will realize is a name not tied to any of Ian Fleming’s novels or stories. It’s a title that “has emotional context which will be revealed in the film,” according to producer Michael Wilson. We like the title. It’s a much better name than the last film’s ludicrous Quantum of Solace. For those wondering what Skyfall might relate to, a synopsis has turned up: “Bond’s loyalty to M is te

Release Date For James Bond Film

We all knew that 007 's new outing would be hitting cinema screens in late 2012. But Sony have today confirmed that Bond 23 - the intriguing working title for, erm, Bond 23 - will be released on October 26 of next year, and not November, the traditional slot for Bond. It's good to see that Daniel Craig 's Bond is keeping the British end up - In Europe they will see the film two weeks before it is releases in the USA. The films opens in the US on November 9th. Oh, and we sincerely hope that Bond 23 is the actual title of the film. How ballsy would that be? Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

Red Dawn To Battle North Koreans

China has become such an important market for U.S. entertainment companies that one studio has taken the extraordinary step of digitally altering a film to excise bad guys from the Communist nation lest the leadership in Beijing be offended. When MGM decided a few years ago to remake " Red Dawn ," a 1984 Cold War drama about a bunch of American farm kids repelling a Soviet invasion, the studio needed new villains, since the U.S.S.R. had collapsed in 1991. The producers substituted Chinese aggressors for the Soviets and filmed the movie in Michigan in 2009. But potential distributors are nervous about becoming associated with the finished film, concerned that doing so would harm their ability to do business with the rising Asian superpower, one of the fastest-growing and potentially most lucrative markets for American movies, not to mention other U.S. products. As a result, the filmmakers now are digitally erasing Chinese flags and military symbols from " Red Dawn

Judi Dench Returning For Bond 23

Actress Dame Judi Dench has revealed she will return to play head of MI6, M , in the new James Bond film, which will see Daniel Craig play the role of the British spy for a third time. Dame Judi also advised Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, Oscar-nominated for their roles in The King's Speech, that the best way to get through the six-hour ceremony was to "keep nudging people". After severe delays amid uncertainty over film studio MGM's future, the 23rd Bond film, directed by Sam Mendes, is set to be released in November 2012. Please Leave A Comment- Source- BBC

BOND 23 Set For 11/9/2012

Bond Is Back MGM is announcing that " BOND 23 " is set to go into production in late 2011 and today announced that the 23rd James Bond film will have a worldwide release on November 9, 2012 .  Daniel Craig will be returning as the legendary British secret agent, with Sam Mendes directing a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. That script is being kept under wraps but the story begins after Quantum Of Solace leaves off. The reason for the 007 delay is this: Broccoli and Wilson had been in pre-production on Bond #23 for release in 2011 but then it took almost a year for MGM's future to sort itself out what with the failed auction sale of the studio, then the pre-packaged bankruptcy getting approval, and eventually Spyglass taking over studio filmmaking. Meanwhile star Daniel Craig filled in the time with various film commitments which he had to finish. The actor began work on the Hollywood remake of the Swedish original The Girl With The Drag

Red Dawn Remake May See The Light In 2011

Wolverines! With MGM’s restructuring plan complete after a $500 million line of credit from JPMorgan, there has been much news made about the studio’s move to get both The Hobbit and James Bond 23 into production quickly. What about the films MGM shelved during its bankruptcy? Movies like Red Dawn, The Cabin in the Woods and others. Not much has been said about those languishing projects, but word is spreading that MGM may put the Red Dawn remake out this year. The film was directed by Dan Bradley, who tried to have the studio sell the project to Fox so they could release it last year, but that never happened. The completed film has been sitting on a shelf unseen ever since. The story revolves around a ragtag team of high school students who fight to save their town against a Chinese invasion. The film is now gearing up for a potential 2011 release date, and it will now be going head-to-head with the similarly themed Tomorrow, When the War Began . Already a hit in Australia and

James Bond 23 Due In 2012

James Bond 23 Due In Theaters In 2012 MGM has big plans for 007 now that the studio is back on its feet. In a report stemming from yesterday's news that MGM had filed for bankruptcy, rejecting Lionsgate's bid for a takeover, Bloomberg confirms that MGM is fully commited to shooting James Bond 23 in the next two years, and that it will be ready for release in November of 2012. The studio will retain fifty percent of the rights to the Bond franchise, with MGM set to release a new 007 adventure every other year starting with James Bond 23's release in 2012 . An equal partner will pay all of the production costs on the first few movies released, and then the later Bond sequels will be wholly owned and funded by MGM itself. There is no word on whether or not Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007 in James Bond 23. At this time, the actor is committed to filming all three installments of the Millennium Trilogy, starting with the currently in production The Girl w
