Fast Five Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

Fast Five Movie Review By: SandwichJohn I was walking into the theater not knowing how I felt about this Franchise, same movie just told in a different way. I was making fun of my friends that were so excited for this movie to come out. Maybe in the same way they were laughing when I lined out overnight to watch the Star Wars films. All I have to say is Fast Five blew me away. Forget that it is apart of the Fast And Furious franchise. This movie could hold it's own. Can't you tell how excited I am. The movie is a guys wet dream, Hot Cars, Hot Woman (Yes, ladies Hot Guys too) and more action than you could ask for. We all know going into this film that there weren't going to be any kind of Oscar caliber performances from the actors. But if action or driving could grant you an Oscar then everyone in this film would be getting one. There are a few thing I need to point out before I go on with the review, there are cars in this movie I have never seen or heard of bef

Limitless Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

Limitless Movie Review By: SandwichJohn Would you take a pill that made you smarter and make you have the power to use your brain to its full potential? If you said "No" then you have to be a fool. I would take it in a heartbeat. In this movie Bradley Cooper stars as Eddie Morra , a down on his luck writer who is loosing everything in his life. The guys has writers block so his book is getting nowhere and, what we all would expect next, his  girlfriend leaves him too. Morra bumps into his ex-brother-in-law while wandering the streets of New York. While they go have a drink at the bar, Vernon Gant ( Johnny Whitworth ) offerers Morra a solution to all his problems. NZT , a pill that would allow him to use 100% of his brain. This movie follows the theory that people use only 20% of their brain and some even use less in my option. Morra decides to give it a try and within minutes his life starts to change. It allows him to pretty much remember everything and anything

Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review By: SandwichJohn Going into the film I really didn't know much about it other than what I had seen in the trailers and what I know of the urban legend of the Battle of Los Angeles . The one thing I have to warn you about is the shaky camera work that is used in the film. So you have been warned. From the start of this movie I knew I was going to enjoy it. Once all the trailers are done being shown, the film starts and we are right in the Battle. We see that some kind of strange force has been taking over the world and their last stop on the ride is Los Angles. We are introduced to U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant Michael Nantz played by Aaron Eckhart . The Staff Sergeant planned on turning in his paper after serving his 20 for his county. Only if life was perfect. In the background on the TV you can see the damage this strange force is causing the world. He is called back into duty with his new new platoon from Echo Company, 2nd battalion, 5th

The Fighter Movie Review By: Sandwichjohn

The Fighter Movie Review By: Sandwichjohn Let's start with how Amazing this film was, I was expecting great things from this movie but the performance by Christian Bale as Dickie Eklund was Oscar worthy for sure. This guys just seems to amaze me with his acting skills and how serious he takes his craft. Mark Wahlberg did a great job portraying "Irish" Micky Ward in the film. If you want to see a real life " Rocky " film then this one is for you. To me The Fighter rivals any Rocky films out there. And being based on the real life story of Ward even make it more interesting. All the issues he went threw to live this real life Cinderella story. There were a few spots in the film I had trouble with but nothing that would deter me from going to watch it again. Yes the film is based on a boxer and if your a boxing fan your going to love this film the action is great but what really carries this film is the acting and story. And yes this movie is also for peo

And yes ladies, they didn't leave you out, Gyllenhaal is also in his suit. Faster Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

Faster Movie Review By: SandwichJohn Going into this movie I was really looking forward to seeing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson laying down the Smackdown and beating up some Jabroni's in the film. This film is Johnson return to adults films since Gridiron Gang ( I don't count The Other Guy s) and after seeing this movie he should have passed on this film. After 10 years in prison, Driver ( Dwayne Johnson ) has a singular focus—to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he's finally on his mission...but with two men on his trail—a veteran cop ( Billy Bob Thornton ) just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman ( Oliver Jackson-Cohen ) with a flair for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It's a do or die race to the list's finish as the mystery surrounding his brother's murder deepens, and new d

"Let Me In" Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

"Let Me In" Movie Review By: SandwichJohn First off I have to thank Jen and Overture Films for inviting me to the press screening last Thursday. It was one hell of a drive from Sacramento to LA. but well worth the drive and time. Let Me In is a film that can stand on it own, a remake what? If I hadn't attend the panel for it during Comic-Con I would have never known this film was a remake until I had done some research on the movie. The film is based on the John Ajvide Lindqvist novel “Let the Right One In ” and the Swedish film adaptation of the same name. Let Me In tells a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old boy named Owen ( Smit-McPhee ) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby ( Moretz ), an eerily self-posses
