Jamie Foxx As Electro In Spider-Man Sequel?

In the final, post-credit scene of The Amazing Spider-Man, Doctor Curt Connors comes face to face with a shadowy figure who may become the sequel's villain. But who could that villain be, and is Jamie Foxx the man to play him? Casting spoilers ahead!

According to Variety, Jamie Foxx is deep in negotiations to play a super-villain in the next Spider flick, due out in May of 2014. Which villain will he be playing? All signs seem to point towards the super-charged Electro. Electro, as his name suggests, has the power to control electricity, a gift he obtained by being struck by lightning.

In addition to Variety's sources, Jamie Foxx himself just so happened to tweet,

"Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well," which is pretty darn telling.

Some questions remain. Namely, what origin will this version of Electro have and is the shadowy figure we saw at the end of Amazing, in fact, Electro? There was an awful lot of lightning going down in that scene, so it's entirely possible.

With both Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone on board, it looks like we'll be hearing more about Amazing 2 sooner than we thought.

Exclusive Interview With MACKENZIE MASON From The Upcoming Game HALO 4

Exclusive Interview With MACKENZIE MASON From The Upcoming Game HALO 4
By: Beevers

I had the pleasure of doing an Exclusive Interview MACKENZIE MASON. Mackenzie can next be seen in the upcoming video game for HALO 4, she is voicing the character Cortana.  We talk about how she got into acting and what her go to song is in the shower. This girl is every Sci-Fi geeks dream girl.

Make sure to follow Mackenzie on Twitter, and let her know that Sando sent you.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm just a young woman living her dream in a big bad city. I love to travel and read and go on adventures. I love my life and really like experiencing new things.

2. How did you get into acting.

I've always been an actress, moving a lot as a kid made me really good at always re inventing myself and I got to watch a lot of different people from all around the world.

3. What is the hardest part between voice acting and actually acting.

Its hard to get yourself to a place that’s authentic so that people believe you and that you really believe that you are this whole other person with this whole other life. But that’s the fun of it as well J

4. I know that your will be voicing Cortana In Halo 4. How did this opportunity come about?

I'm doing the performance for her, so basically everything you can see visually is me. Her face, her emotions, the way her mouth moves...her body movements.

5. Prior to this role were you a huge Halo fan?

I knew of it and liked playing but wasn’t HUGE fan. I am now J

6. I have read somewhere your a huge Sci-Fi geek. Favorite Sci-Fi movie and why?

Favorite sci fi movie would have to be Blade Runner and Alien. I love the darkness and the suspense of those movies, real grit. BADASS!!

7. Can you tell the fans out there what other projects you might have coming up?

I have a feature coming out next year called Body High. It’s a stoner comedy, far cry from the heavy material of Halo. I also have a short film out next year as well called Shattered Love; it deals with Alzheimer’s, its really powerful. Now time for random questions:

8. Go to song you sing in the shower?

Dude looks like a lady!

9. Best movie you have seen in 2012 so far and why?

Dark Knight Rises. I LOVE batman. He's my favorite superhero.

10. Why do you have to "put your two cents in". but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

The difference is- Opinion vs thoughts. Opinions are so annoying, so they cost more. Thoughts are valuable so people need to pay you to share them :)

11. Where can my fans find you on the internet? @mackenziemason on twitter!

I just want to thank Mackenzie for taking the time out to do this interview and can not wait to see her in action in HALO 4.

Wreck It Ralph Review. Is It Worth Your Quarters?

Wreck It Ralph Review
By: MattInRC

Does Wreck It Ralph beat up the 2012 animated competition, or should you save your quarters for a better game?

For today's kids, video games are a integral part of their lives, existing as both entertainment as well as the center of their digital lives. But for those of us old enough to remember, video games were mostly limited to arcades, creating a sometimes frenzied environment where kids would line up with their quarters to take a shot at the newest game. Between the ages of 10-15, I must have single-handedly kept my local arcade open, that is until the Atari 2600 was released. I watched as the industry changed, as home consoles took over, grinding most arcades to dust while generating an excitement for gaming that continues today. Whether home consoles have made us better players today is debatable, but there's no denying the importance that arcades once played. Wreck It Ralph tries to conjure up fond memories of quarter games and pizza parties, but does it deliver the goods? Sadly, Wreck It Ralph loses steam in the third act, failing to connect the many arcade references to the story itself and settling on territory that's been covered before.

John C. Reilly (Step Brothers) plays Ralph, a Donkey Kong-like baddie who likes to crush penthouse apartments while his arch enemy Fix-it Felix (Jack McBrayer, Despicable Me) magically repairs the shattered windows and torn down facade. When the arcade closes at night, our characters live in a digital world that's just a screen away from the real one. Characters can travel to other games via a Grand Central Station-type lobby, but some are stuck in the station when their game is retired (Q*Bert and his family get a handout from Ralph as he returns from an AA-type meeting for baddies) For 30 years, Ralph has been happy to become unceremoniously disposed of by the apartment's tenants at level's end, but soon he decides that living in the ruins of shattered buildings while Felix is admired by the tenants is no longer appealing. After crashing the game's 30th anniversary party and learning that the tenants' hatred for him is actually real, he ventures outside the game, battling "Cy-Bugs" in Hero's Duty alongside Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch, Glee). Soon, his master plan to win a medal - which he hopes will make him more accepted by the tenants - lands him in the racing game Sugar Crush, where the program Glitch (Sarah Silverman, School of Rock) has been cast out by the more glamorous female racers and by the evil King Candy (Alan Tudyk, Serenity). Gltich is really the princess Vanellope von Schweetz, whose current social status as a problematic personality mirrors Ralph's. Together, our odd couple learns of a dire threat to the entire arcade that Ralph may have inadvertently started, forcing Calhoun and Felix to join the fray.

There's a few things about Wreck It Ralph that bug me, and these keep me from recommending it. Director Rich Moore brings his Simpsons sensibilities in action sequences which are neither imaginative nor convey any sense of action. His cast does a fair job with the material, but we've heard better performances this year in Hotel Transylvania and Ice Age 4. The screenplay by newcomer Jennifer Lee does have some surprise moments that will bring chuckles from the older crowd, but kids might leave having wanted more action and less plodding story. In fact, Wreck It Ralph smacks a lot like previous Disney films, as if the studio seemed content to pull several old tricks out of its hat, with Vanellope playing Cinderella, Ralph playing Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet, the digital landscapes at film's end looking a lot like Tron, and the story's 'after-hours' premise mirroring Toy Story. Voice performances are adequate but unremarkable, reminding us how important casting plays in an animated film. Don't get me wrong, Wreck It Ralph is not a terrible film at all; but if I wanted yet another story about how society's rejects rise up to be loved by their oppressors who suddenly see the light, I might have delved deeper into the Disney catalog to find a better example. Why Disney feels the need to constantly do this instead of creating original and inspiring themes is beyond me, but too many rookies in key positions deliver a film that's mostly flat and full of corporate branding. There is a short before Wreck It Ralph called Paperman, a thoroughly enjoyable piece about finding true love in paper airplanes. Don't surprised if it overshadows Ralph come Oscar time.

Wreck It Ralph is suitably fun entertainment, good for an afternoon of casual remembrances of our youth when we poured dozens of quarters into machines without realizing how much we were spending. Beyond that, its plot is uninspiring, with Disney's efforts doing more to generate better stories of pizza parties at the arcade than the one we're witnessing on the big screen. The voice talent is suitable but not extraordinary by anyone's standards, with many of them failing to connect as viable versions of their computer-generated selves. Kids will connect more with Glitch than recognize any of the classic game references. And those of us who remember these games will be surprised at what's missing: no Galaga, Defender, Asteroids, or Centipede, titles that certainly could have been generated more laughs than those concocted for Q*Bert. Sadly, Disney proves once again that without Pixar, all it can do is rehash old Cinderella-type stories about cast-asides destined for greatness. There have been plenty of bad movies this year; Wreck It Ralph is certainly not one of them. However, don't expect too much from this one, as an instant classic it's not.

John Cusack Joins The Cell

As the nights draw in and the creepiness levels rise, John Cusack’s mind is turning to horror. Just yesterday, word arrived that he was planning to star in scare-fest Due Process. Now he’s also going back into Stephen King territory for an adaptation of Cell.

The book, which hit shelves in 2006, finds struggling graphic novel artist Clayton Riddell searching for his missing wife and son after a mysterious pulse from every mobile phone starts turning people into zombie-like psychopaths.

King is on screenwriting duty for this one, working alongside The Last House On The Left’s Adam Alleca. There’s no director attached yet, but we expect one to be locked in soon enough.

This is not the first time someone has tried to bring the novel to the screen: Eli Roth jumped on the idea when it was first published, but ditched it to focus on his own original material. Then writer John Harrison began to develop it for TV. Now, however, it will be back in movie form.

Cusack previously stalked into King’s world for 1408, and Cell finds him reunited with that film’s producer, Richard Saperstein. “I’m thrilled to be working with Stephen and John again,” Saperstein tells Screen Daily. “Cell is an intelligent psychological thriller that delivers on both a visceral and emotional level.”

Talking of terror, Cusack will be playing a killer in The Frozen Ground, which is due out next year. And, even scarier, he’s Richard Nixon in Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

George Lucas Does An Amazing Thing. To Donate $4 Billion To Fund Education

By the end of the year, the $4.05 billion sale of Lucasfilm to Disney should be finalized. And since George Lucas owns 100 percent of his company - which has little to no debt - all that money goes to him.

After that, Lucas plans to quickly put the bulk of the money into a foundation which will primarily focus on educational issues, a spokesperson for Lucasfilm tells THR.

George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors.”

It's not yet clear which foundation will get the proceeds. Lucas is currently the chairman of Edutopia, which is part of the George Lucas Educational Foundation. He could put money into that or create a new foundation which would be funded from the sale.

The Foundation was the vehicle Lucas used to make a $175 million donation to his alma mater USC in 2006. He has also given to many other causes over the years including the Film Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. “For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company,” Lucas said in a statement Wednesday. “As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”

The spokesperson noted that this “announcement continues a commitment that Lucas made in 2010 to The Giving Pledge where he stated, “I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education. It is the key to the survival of the human race. We have to plan for our collective future—and the first step begins with social, emotional, and intellectual tools we provide to our children. As humans, our greatest tool for survival is our ability to think and to adapt—as educators, storytellers, and communicators our responsibility is to continue to do so.’”

OPI SKYFALL Gift Set Giveaway

Another giveaway has landed. OPI has provided me with 5 gift sets to giveaway to you fans of the site. Five Random winners will be chosen.

SKYFALL is the twenty-third spy film in the Eon Productions James Bond series, produced for MGM, Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It features Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's villain. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Mendes was approached to direct the film following the release of Quantum of Solace in 2008. However, production was suspended when MGM encountered financial troubles, and would not resume until December 2010. During this time, Mendes remained attached to the project as a "consultant", though original screenwriter Peter Morgan left the project during the suspension. Once production resumed, Logan, Purvis and Wade continued writing what would be the final version of the script, incorporating Morgan's ideas in it. Filming began in November 2011, and primarily took place in the United Kingdom, China and Turkey.

It will be the first James Bond film to be released in IMAX venues. The film's release will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the series, which began with Dr. No in 1962.

OPI, originally named Odontorium Products Inc., was a small dental supply company purchased George Schaeffer in 1981. Shortly after taking over the company, Schaeffer was joined by Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s Executive Vice President and Artistic Director. Schaeffer and Weiss-Fischmann partnered with a chemist and created an acrylic system that Schaeffer sold door-to-door to local nail salons. They closed the dental sales and focused entirely on nail products changing the name to OPI Products Inc.

In 1989, OPI expanded its portfolio to nail lacquers and later other products. In 2003, OPI created a Legally Blonde 2 collection that was also featured in the film. Collaborations that have followed include Ford Mustang, Alice in Wonderland (2009), Dell (2009), Shrek (2010), Burlesque (2010), Katy Perry (201 1), Serena (2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), Miss Universe (2011), Muppets (2011), Nikki Minaj (2012), The Amazing Spiderman (2012), Minnie Mouse (2012) & James Bond (2012).

In 2003, OPI launched a nail polish line for dogs called Pawlish that received mixed reviews.

In 2007, after pressure from the EPA and the organization Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, OPI reformulated its nail lacquers and eliminated chemicals DBP (dibutyl phthalate), formaldehyde and toluene.

OPI introduced a UV-lamp manicure, Axxium Gels, and Axxium Soak-Off Gels.

In 2010, OPI was acquired by Coty, Inc.

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer. Can You See The Changes?

Remember that G.I. Joe sequel that was supposed to come out seemingly forever ago? Well, it's back and we've got the latest trailer just for you. Let's find out what's changed about the delayed film together, shall we?

The official answer as to why Joe went from a 2012 summer release to the far-less-exciting March of 2013 is "increased 3D effects." Okay, yes, we can see how 3D is a good thing. Explosions, ninjas, Bruce Willis... all of the above could be made better if they're flying off the screen, but is that really all this is about?

Considering Channing Tatum (who was supposed to be killed off for the sequel) appears right at the start of the trailer, we're gonna go ahead and say that his huge increase in popularity after 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike had a lot to do with the release date change.

Jennifer Garner Joins Dallas Buyers Club

Jennifer Garner is in talks to star in the long-gestating drama Dallas Buyers Club alongside Matthew McConaughey. The plot centers on a man who was given six months to live after contracting AIDS in 1986; he lived another six years by illegally smuggling medicine into the U.S., making sure a lot of other sufferers got them too. The spirit of the drama paints a picture at the time of powerful and unyielding bureaucrats at the Food and Drug Administration.

We’re hearing that the production is also close to casting the key role of a cross-dresser, but nothing’s been sealed.

In 1974, one movie changed the face of horror. In 2013, a dark new chapter begins...

TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D opens nationwide January 4th, 2013!!11

With gruesome surprises in store for a whole new generation, TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D stars Alexandra Daddario (Heather Miller) and Dan Yeager (Leatherface), Introducing Tremaine ‘Trey Songz’ Neverson (Ryan), Scott Eastwood (Carl), Tania Raymonde (Nikki), Shaun Sipos (Darryl), Keram Malicki-Sanchez (Kenny), James MacDonald (Officer Marvin), Thom Barry (Sheriff Hooper), Paul Rae (Burt Hartman), Richard Riehle (Farnsworth) along with special appearances from four beloved cast members from previous installments of the franchise: Gunnar Hansen (the original Leatherface), Marilyn Burns, John Dugan and Bill Moseley.11

Lionsgate presents a Millennium Films production and Main Line Pictures production.

Lionsgate’s TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars.

Vince Vaughn Has Triple Time

Looking to assert himself outside the comedy genre, Vince Vaughn has signed on to star in "Triple Time," an action-thriller movie that Peter Billingsley will direct.

Scott Steindorff's shingle Scott Pictures preemptively purchased the spec script co-written by Michael J. Wilson and Billingsley.

Two-hander follows a broke U.S. marshal (Vaughn) tasked with escorting a prisoner accused of an environmental disaster to Washington, D.C. When their transport plane explodes, the unlikely pair must work together to figure out who is behind the conspiracy, which may include one of them.

Vince and Victoria Vaughn will produce through their Wild West Pictures Show banner along with Steindorff, the founder and CEO of Scott Pictures, whose Peter Fruchtman, Scott LaStaiti and Dylan Russell will serve as exec producers.11 CAA packaged the project and will represent domestic distribution rights, with Scott Pictures Intl. handling foreign sales.

Having anchored hit comedies such as "Wedding Crashers" and "Old School," Vaughn has been looking to branch out from the genre and establish himself as an action star. Thesp is attached to topline Randall Wallace's "Gunslingers" at New Regency as well as a feature adaptation of "The Rockford Files" at Universal, and he had also been circling Emmett/Furla's "Lucky Strike" prior to Tony Scott's death. Vaughn recently wrapped Shawn Levy's comedy "The Internship" for Fox and will soon begin filming DreamWorks' remake of "Starbuck."

Billingsley, who directed Vaughn in the 2009 Universal comedy "Couple's Retreat," also exec produced "Iron Man."

Wilson is currently writing the action-thriller "Samurai" with Gavin O'Connor, who is attached to direct the pic for Warner Bros. He also recently sold the spec thriller "Inventory" to Bruce Willis and his Willis Brothers Films banner.

A production and financing company founded by Steindorff ("The Lincoln Lawyer") and Peter Nathanial, Scott Pictures is producing Lynne Ramsay's "Jane Got a Gun," which will star Natalie Portman. Company is also producing Olivier Megaton's horror-thriller "Land of the Living" and an adaptation of Jessica Khoury's fantasy novel "Origin."

More Missions For Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise chats about all of his upcoming films, including Jack Reacher, Van Helsing, and the long-mooted Top Gun 2. And we also pressed him on the possibility of another Mission: Impossible installment, not least as Ghost Protocol was Cruise’s biggest hit to date.

On the fourquel’s success, Cruise told us, “Seeing an audience respond… to have that experience is really wonderful.

“I started Mission: Impossible hoping I could make many of them. It’s a character that I can grow with. At that time it was the most expensive film in the history of Paramount Pictures, and the first film I was producing.

“It’s been pretty exciting. I’ll make a bunch of those. I’ll make as many as people want to see... because they’re very challenging, and so much fun to make.”

Any ideas for the plot and set-pieces? “We’re already working on different images. Talking conceptually. I love travelling around promoting different movies because I’m always looking at different places, and I always walk around to see the city. I look at architecture, subways… coming up with different sequences.”

THE BAY opens in theaters nationwide and through video-on-demand and iTunes this Friday, November 2!   The film was directed by Barry Levinson.

Two million fish washed ashore. One thousand blackbirds dropped from the sky. On July 4, 2009 a deadly menace swept through the quaint seaside town of Claridge, Maryland, but the harrowing story of what happened that Independence Day has never been told – until now.

From Oscar®-winning* director Barry Levinson and the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes this nerve-shredding tale of a small town plunged into absolute terror. The authorities believed they had buried the truth about the tragedy that claimed over 700 human lives. Now, three years later, a reporter has emerged with footage revealing the cover-up and an unimaginable killer: a mysterious parasitic outbreak.

Told from the perspective of those who were there and saw what happened, The Bay unfolds over 24 hours though people's iPhones, Androids, 911 calls, webcams, and whatever else could be used to document the nightmare in Claridge.

New Red Dawn Trailer. Fight For Your Freedom

It may be hard to believe, but after a few years sitting on the shelf, it's finally (almost) here. The Red Dawn reboot opens Nov. 21—and a new trailer shows off the crazy invasion action that's coming soon.

Starring a who's who of eventual stars (Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson), the remake finds the U.S. occupied by a foreign army. Our only hope? A ragtag group of teens and 20-somethings out to cause as much trouble as possible.

The film was finished before Hemsworth became a household name (among comic fans, anyway) for his role as Thor, and his star power should carry the remake of the 1980s classic to at least a solid opening.

A new trailer has been released setting up the premise, including a few snippets of new action footage. Despite the fact that MGM's financial woes kept it in purgatory for a few years, it still looks pretty good.

Disney Buys Lucas Films. Plan For A New Star Wars Film In 2015

Today we felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in disbelief… And were silenced by hard truth. Yes, the Walt Disney corporate Death Star has gone on another acquisition mission, buying up Lucasfilm for the handsome sum of kee oto* But the even bigger news to come out of the announcement? The companies are planning a new entry in the Star Wars franchise for 2015.

The jokes, of course, came almost as fast as the questions of whether it was actually true. But it is, and George Lucas himself was part of the announcement.

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas, chairman and CEO of Lucasfilm, in a statement. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.

“I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.”

While the move remains somewhat shocking, it’s not entirely surprising, especially since Disney bought Marvel and Lucas announced he was stepping back from filmmaking to shepherd other projects.

But the new film is only part one of the strategy. Snuck into word that Kennedy will slide into the president’s job at Lucasfilm, comes this little nugget: "Star Wars Episode VII is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.” And in a follow-up investor's call about the move, it was announced that the seventh film would be the first in a new trilogy, with releases aimed at roughly every other year. The treatment for the first of the three is already in hand.

Nothing is known about the new movies yet, but of course we’ll keep you advised.

The Amazing Spider-Man Deleted Footage.

We already knew that a lot of stuff was left on the cutting-room floor when director Marc Webb put together the final cut of The Amazing Spider-Man. Now we have a good look at 17+ minutes of footage that got axed. So what's there?

A pretty good bit of content, including a few alternate scenes that could've shifted the tone had they been included.

Though these scenes do add some context and might've helped with the pacing, it doesn't look like we lost a ton with these being relegated to Blu-ray extras.

The footage has leaked, and here's a scene breakdown via Comic Book Movie:

Robert Downey Jr.'s "SURPRISE" Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Trailer

Gamers are coming out of the woodwork for Guy Ritchie's latest work. The director shot the most recent commercial for the videogame Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It features multiple players immersed in the competition, including Sherlock Holmes star Robert Downey Jr.

The trailer is called "Surprise," and it lives up to its title. Everyone's got it in for everyone else, so you have to watch your back. Even Downey falls victim to an ambush. This promo has everything: helicopters, tanks, horses and zombies. Yep, the zombies are getting in on the action, too.

THE WOLVERINE Teaser Poster And Q&A With Jackman

We have the first teaser poster for the upcoming film THE WOLVERINE. As an added bonus I have the Q&A that took place today with director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman.

"Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all," reveals Mangold. "Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him."

Now that's intriguing. We're pretty sure that there are prequel elements to The Wolverine - our picture alone, if you know your Wolverine lore, would suggest it, while on-set pics suggest that some sequences take place in World War II. Also, recent rumours hint at a cameo from Famke Janssen as Logan's unrequited love Jean Grey, last seen being mercy-killed by Logan at the end of X-Men: The Last Stand.

But, according to Mangold, the bulk of the action - which takes Logan to Tokyo, where he falls for Tao Okamoto's mysterious Mariko and becomes entangled in a brutal gang war - will take place outside of all previous X-film continuity.

"That’s something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place in his timeline," says Mangold. "I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that’s such an interesting part of Logan’s character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie."

Two Jamie's Join Sin City 2

Jaime King and Jamie Chung have boarded Sin City 2, which began shooting on Monday in Austin.

Robert Rodriguez is directing the movie with Frank Miller, the comic book icon who created the Sin City comics that were published by Dark Horse in the 1990s. Rodriguez and Miller teamed up for the stylish 2005 hit adaptation.

Rodriguez and Miller wrote the script for the new movie, which is a combination of comics storylines and a new one written specifically by Miller for the movie. One of the storylines being adapted is A Dame to Kill For, originally published in 1993 and featuring a man named Dwight entangled in a complicated and deadly relationship with a femme fatale named Ava.

Many of the original castmembers are returning for the sequel, including Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson. (Rourke’s character Marv was killed by electrocution in the first movie but the Dame’s story takes place before and after that film’s events.)

King played the golden-haired prostitute Goldie in the first movie and returns to play her twin sister, Wendy.

Chung is stepping into the heels worn in the first movie by Devon Aoki, the katana-wielding, roller-skating assassin Miho. The character plays a key role in helping Dwight locate the double-dealing Ava.

Rodriguez barely wrapped Machete Kills before jumping into Sin City 2 and is shooting on his soundstages in his native Austin. But while the movie may be underway, casting for major parts is still underway. Ava’s part, originally written for Angelina Jolie, is still unfilled.

And the part of Dwight remains a question mark. The character was played by Clive Owen in the first movie and sources say Owen is understood to be returning. But the character undergoes facial surgery and appears as a new man, thus the need for a new top-flight actor to play the reconstructed character.

Also still uncast is a newly created character named Johnny, a smooth gambler.

King currently stars as the conniving and social-status seeking Lemon Breeland in CW’s Hart of Dixie. She has the horror movie Silent Night, with Malcolm McDowell and Donal Logue, in the can. She is repped by Gersh and Myman Greenspan.

Chung played Ed Helms’ fiancĂ©e in The Hangover Part II and returns for Part III. She appears in RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists, which opens Friday, and recently did a stint as Mulan in ABC’s One Upon a Time. She is repped by Gersh, 3 Arts Entertainment and Morris Yorn.
