Hot Summer Nights is the brand new A24 film starring Timothée Chalamet and Maika Monroe, which tells the coming of age story about a boy who spends his summer in Cape Cod. Now when the trailer dropped earlier this year I was hooked on board. Great young cast, new director plus its A24 I’ll give anything they do a chance. BUT I got to be honest this film disappointed me a lot. As beautiful and vivid that the film is, or even how great the performances are from our main actors. I mean Chalamet is one of the best up and coming actors and Monroe just bleeds with charisma. As great as the director can get these performances and get a great looking film. The movie falls into a boring, predictable route that just falls apart into a coming of age film that isn’t unique at all. I found myself falling asleep multiple times, and just waiting for the film to end. As a huge indie fan I was very disappointed in this film.
