Rescue Me Is Coming To An End in 2011

Rescue Me Is Coming To An End in 2011
FX's "Rescue Me" is set to end its run in 2011, 10 years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that provided the creative impetus for the series.

New York-shot drama from Sony Television will continue for 19 more episodes after the current season finale airs on Tuesday. It's undetermined how the network will release the final shows, though most likely in two different seasons of 10 and nine episodes, or vice versa.

Production on the final episodes begins in September.

Before this season began, the series was on an 18-month hiatus due to the writers strike. In between seasons, several "minisodes" were done to whet the appetite of fans.

Leary, who stars as a hard-drinking conflicted fireman who begins dating the wife of his cousin who died in the World Trade Center, has twice been Emmy nominated for his performance, and once for co-writing with Peter Tolan.

The show is averaging 1.4 million total viewers and 914,000 in the 18-49 demo, down about 38% from a season ago. Those numbers go up significantly, however, when DVR and video on demand usage is included.

Kate Beckinsale Not Going To Be In Underworld 4?

Kate Beckinsale Not Going To Be In Underworld 4?
Look at all these Rumors, Had to add this in. Song just popped in my head. Kate Beckinsdale on Friday denied widespread reports that she has signed on to a fourth Underworld film, which would begin a new trilogy in 3-D. Beckinsdale told a group of reporters that she had barely even considered reprising the role of vampire/death dealer Selene.

"I haven't signed anything," Beckinsdale said in a press conference today in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she was promoting the thriller Whiteout.

"It was always conceived as a trilogy, which I was never going to be in the third one. I think if they came up with an amazing script or whatever, then, sure, I wouldn't be averse to it, but it's not necessarily planned."

The prospect of a new trilogy left her downright flummoxed. "God, three whole more?" she sighed. "I don't think my daughter needs to see my bottom in rubber for another 10 years."

Beckinsdale is aware of development on Underworld 4, but only through the Hollywood rumor mill. "I heard they're talking about a fourth one, but I don't know if that's officially happening or if that's just a rumor," she said. "As far as I'm concerned, it's a rumor."

Rose McGowan has cleared up the air on the speculation of whether or not she is still attached to "Red Sonja". Following her Twitter post on Wednesday, August 26 that led to speculation she may well be out from the project.

She then followed it up with another tweet, writing "I am still contracted to do it Red Sonja. Hopefully Filming in '10 not '09".

Halloween 2 Movie Review

Halloween 2 Movie Review
Review By:Chocolate Thunder

Very good start to Halloween 2. Rob Zombie directs and puts a gruesome, graphic spin on this movie. Cinematography is great, lighting is good, special effects is so-so. The direction of the film is also good. So whats the problem? The story! What is the likely hood that this dude who is a bred killer pass up a teen smorgageborge to seek out some lonely teen across town that is meaningless to the story. Also, the movie has Michael Meyers grunting and making noises of aggression. In the original the MM of that generation made no noise, just killed people. But I will say this about the movie, the graphic gruesome pics of violence makes this a must see. I actually jumped one time.

As for a review I will say this is a matinee if you are a fan of the franchise, and the last Halloween Movie made. For all else DVD.
I will give it 4 Sandwiches out of 10

The Men Who Stare At Goats Trailer. Is George Clooney A Jedi?

The Men Who Stare At Goats Trailer
I have always said that every movie no matter the subject has a Star Wars Reference in it. This movie just proves my point. Watch the Trailer:

In this quirky dark comedy inspired by a real life story you will hardly believe is actually true, astonishing revelations about a top-secret wing of the U.S. military come to light when a reporter encounters an enigmatic Special Forces operator on a mind-boggling mission. Reporter Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady (George Clooney), a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of “Warrior Monks” with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy’s thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program’s founder, Bill Django (Jeff Bridges), has gone missing and Cassady’s mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance’s far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to accompany him on the search. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper (Kevin Spacey), the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django’s New Earth Army and Hooper’s personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible. The Men Who Stare at Goats was inspired by Jon Ronson’s non-fiction bestseller of the same name, an eye-opening and often hilarious exploration of the government’s attempts to harness paranormal abilities to combat its enemies.

Hamlet a Horror Film? That's What Emile Hirsch Wants

Hamlet a Horror Film? That's What Emile Hirsch Wants
saw My First Emile Hirsch movie which was The Girl Next Dog. And really liked what I saw. Then when I saw the movie Alpha Dog. I became a true fan, But when he decide to do Speed Racer. Holy Shit what a BAD movie that was! I couldn't even make it threw the entire movie.Did a Great Job in the Movie Milk also staring Sean Penn.
Word has spread that Speed Racer's Emile Hirsch will join Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke for an adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, and now the star tells us that his brooding hero will be more Cobain than Dane, with ghosts.

"We want to make it like a horror, scary-movie Hamlet," Hirsch said. "Like a supernatural with like a mystical bent to it, set in college and following these cool characters. It's all in Shakespeare verse, so it's going to be kind of like the cool, darker answer to Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet. We're making Hamlet a musician, so it should be pretty cool."

Hirsch plans to take on the Bard after his turn in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock. "Hopefully the final financing [will come together] on this Hamlet movie me and Catherine Hardwicke want to make with one another, this modern adaptation," he said.

Shakespeare's material has lent itself to myriad updates and new contexts, such as Luhrmann's Miami-set reinvention of Romeo, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes, and Richard Loncraine's World War II-tinged Richard III, starring Ian McKellen.

Tom Cruise Makes His Way Down Under to Meet With Peter Jackson

Tom Cruise Makes His Way Down Under to Meet With Peter Jackson

What could they possibly be meeting for? Is Tom Cruise going to play Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit? I don't think so.
But the star has heavy involvement in film studio United Artists so there is speculation that the New Zealand meet-up could be about a joint project.
Hollywood star Tom Cruise has flown into New Zealand to meet the country's Oscar-winning director, Peter Jackson.

The actor was met at Wellington airport early on Thursday morning, sources have told New Zealand radio station Newstalk ZB.

It is not known why he is in the country but it is understood he is meeting Jackson. The acclaimed filmmaker is working on a remake of the classic 1954 World War II epic, Dam Busters, the JRR Tolkien classic, The Hobbit, and a film about Belgian comic-strip hero Tintin.

New Photos Of The Volturi Clan From Twilight New Moon

New Photos Of The Volturi Clan From Twilight New Moon
The Picture is Courtesy on BD.
The picture shows the first image of Dakota Fanning as Jane in Twilight New Moon. I was surprised when they made this casting. It just seems like an odd choice. But we will have to wait until the movie come out.
Also we have an Image of A New Picture of Michael Sheen as Aro, The Leader of the Volturi Clan Courtesy of Yahoo

Spoiler if you have not read the Book-
The Volturi are first introduced in New Moon.
Near the beginning of the book, Edward says to Bella that irritating them was a sure fire way to get yourself killed. When Edward thought Bella was dead, he went to Volterra to ask the Volturi to kill him. The Volturi refused, Aro in particular wanted Edward to join them, and Edward decided to force their hand by exposing himself to the humans of the city. Bella and Alice, however, were able to arrive in the city and find him before he revealed himself. Several guards brought the three of them back to Aro, Marcus, and Caius. Aro was intrigued when he saw Bella and when she was immune to all mental powers. After Edward, Alice, and Bella declined the Volturi's offer to join them, the Volturi told them that Bella, because she knew their secrets, had to either die or become a vampire, which Edward will not allow. But Alice was able to convince them to let them go when she said she saw a vision of Bella becoming a vampire in the future.

Steven Spielberg To Infiltrate 'Pirate Latitudes'

Steven Spielberg To Infiltrate 'Pirate Latitudes'

It's a seven-year-old boy's dream team -- Steven Spielberg, Michael Crichton and David Koepp moving on from rampaging dinosaurs to marauding pirates.

DreamWorks Studios
has acquired the film rights to the action-adventure novel "Pirate Latitudes," which Crichton wrote just before his death in November. Spielberg, who directed Koepp's adaptations of Crichton's "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World," will produce the film and possibly direct.

Koepp has signed on to adapt.

"Michael was a scrupulous researcher and one of the most innovative writers of our era," said Koepp. "To have gotten to work with one of his novels was a privilege; to work with three seems like a dream."

"Latitudes," which takes place in 1665, is about a daring plan to infiltrate Port Royal, one of the world's richest and most notorious cities, and raid a Spanish galleon filled with treasure. HarperCollins will publish the novel, which Crichton's assistant found in a completed manuscript after his death, on November 24.

Crichton and Spielberg also collaborated on the long-running medical drama "ER," which they launched together in 1994.

"Michael Crichton was one of our greatest storytellers who expanded all of our imaginations with his books, films, and television," said Spielberg. "With the 'ER' series and 'Jurassic Park' series, I enjoyed one of the best collaborations of my career. Now with 'Pirate Latitudes,' I and all of us at DreamWorks have the chance to be excited about bringing this new Michael Crichton work to the screen."

CAA brokered the deal on behalf of the Crichton estate in conjunction with literary agency Janklow & Nesbit.

A Harvard medical school graduate, Crichton published deeply researched novels, typically about technology run amok, for 40 years. A dozen of his books were adapted into films, and he also wrote and/or directed original screenplays, including "Twister," "Runaway," "Looker" and "Westworld."

Spielberg, is finishing up "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" for Paramount and Sony before moving on to his remake of "Harvey" for DreamWorks and Fox.

Soul Train Movie Is Rolling Down the Tracks

Soul Train Movie Is Rolling Down the Tracks
Wow a Soul Train Movie. What in The Hell can this movie be about? I guess they could put the jabbawockeez in the Movie Or even better they could get Ozone and Turbo from Breakin and then maybe I would go see it.
Do you remember when they had artist on the show, the artist would lip sync their songs. Are they going to dub actor voices in the movie to keep it real?
Hollywood really needs to try and come up with something original. Shit they could make a movie about my life. I would work for points on the back end. But money talks and if you can make it cheap and turn it into a profit then I guess they will go for it. And no Dancing movie will EVER be Better then Breakin'!

Warner Bros. has hired Malcolm Spellman to write a feature based on the classic TV show "Soul Train."

Darryl Porter and Aaron Geller of Porter/Geller Prods. will produce with Don Cornelius, the host and producer of the famed show, which ran from 1971-2006.

Spellman said that he's writing a film set in the 1980s.

"All of the hip-hop street dances you see today were born during that time period and were first seen on that show, and I remember doing all of them when I was a kid," said Spellman, whose credits include "Dead Presidents."

Protag comes from the L.A. hood, and his ticket out is his gift for "popping," a street dance that became popular in the period. Cornelius told Spellman he'd always wanted to mount a tour with bands and dancers, and the writer will make that fictional tour a centerpiece of the film.

"This guy is a serious popper, with street edge, and he wants to get on that tour, with the hottest of the hot," Spellman said. "Writing with Don involved is quite an experience. He's still the godfather of cool."

Here Kitty Kitty Megan Fox To Be In Batman 3 As Catwoman?

Here Kitty Kitty Megan Fox To Be In Batman 3 As Catwoman?
Hey It works for me she is not one of best actresses around but I could watch a movie with just her sitting in a chair.
According to The Sun, Megan Fox is Slated to play Catwoman in the Next installment of the Batman Franchise. I believe that this is a Huge Rumor and take with a grain of Salt.

For one thing, there's no script, and no one connected with the project has said a thing about Catwoman even being in the movie. Indeed, Nolan's more likely to select an adversary who hasn't had a lot of screen time in previous film incarnations of the comic-book franchise.

For another, given Nolan's artfulness in reinventing the comic franchise each time out, it's extremely unlikely that he would hire an actress previously known primarily as eye candy for giant-robot fans to play what could be a psychologically complex villain and potential love interest for Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne/Batman, even if the character were in the movie. He replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes in TDK, which suggests that he'll go for the serious actor over the pretty face every time.

New xXx:The Return Of Xander Cage: Movie Gets it Man.

New xXx:The Return Of Xander Cage: Movie Gets it Man.
Do We Really Need another xXx movie, Especially if it is written by the guys who Brought us Terminator Salvation? Looks like Hollywood thinks so. And I am Sure Their are a few Women out that would like to see him reprise this role.
Ericson Core has signed to helm "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," Columbia's third installment in the action franchise. Neal Moritz and Joe Roth are producing.

Vin Diesel
is reprising the role of the extreme sports athlete-turned-government operative he originated in the 2002 movie directed by Rob Cohen. Diesel and Cohen skipped the 2005 sequel, "XXX: State of the Union," which starred Ice Cube and was helmed by Lee Tamahori.

Last year, Diesel and Cohen agreed to reteam for the new installment, but in June, Cohen segued to helm "Medieval" for Regency.

Columbia went on the hunt for a helmer, who also had to get the OK from Diesel. Diesel has worked with Core before, though not under an actor-director relationship; Core, a cinematographer-turned-director, worked as DP on Diesel's 2001 flick "The Fast and the Furious."

John Brancato and Michael Ferris ("Terminator Salvation") wrote the script for "Xander Cage." It involves Cage's return to the National Security Agency after an eight-year absence. Richard Wilkes, who wrote the original movie, did a recent polish.

The studio hopes to move fast, capitalizing on Hollywood brand hunger and Diesel's resurgence as a boxoffice draw, and aims to roll cameras early next year.

HBO's True Blood Set Series Records

HBO's True Blood Set Series Records

My wife April has gotten me into this show. We had the first season on DVD but I did not bother to watch it. But When I found out that Michael Papajohn Was going to be on the show during the second season, I had to watch it. And I have become a Fan of the show.
While the return of pro football gave Fox a nice boost last week, the top ratings stories in the frame were on cable,Another high for HBO's "True Blood." Over at HBO, "True Blood" surged more than 20% week to week to set series records (2.8/8 in 18-49, 5.33 million viewers overall). In the demo, the vampire skein ranked third among all primetime programs for the week.

The premiere telecast was the first HBO series episode to top 5 million viewers since the finale of "The Sopranos" drew 11.9 million in June 2007. And excluding "Sopranos," it's the largest premiere-night audience for an HBO series since 5.4 million tuned in for the fourth episode of "Deadwood" (which aired behind "Sopranos") in April 2004.

"True Blood" is opening up some distance on skedmates "Hung" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.28m) and "Entourage" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 3.18m), although they were both up as well.

Mila Kunis Kicks Ass In " Book Of Eli"

Mila Kunis Gets to Kick Ass In The Movie Book Of Eli
I can Say on Thing Mila Kunis was great in the TV show "That '70s Show" But her role in the Movie "Max Payne" was torture for me. Just a Bad movie overall. I did enjoy her part in the Movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" . I am looking forward to her new Movie"Book Of Eli" I was fortune enough to get a first hand look at the movie and cast during San Diego Comic Con. And from what I saw this movie is going to be a HIT!!

Early teaser trailers for the upcoming sci-fi action movie The Book of Eli show star Denzel Washington kicking post-apocalyptic butt, but co-star Mila Kunis revealed that her character gets her share of the action.

"I get to flip a car," Kunis said in a group interview over the weekend in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she was promoting the comedy Extract. "I get to throw a grenade into a convoy of cars and explode them. I get to do other fun things that I can't talk about. The trailers are so small in comparison to how cool the movie is. I've got to tell you, the movie is really, really cool."

Best known for comedies (TV's That '70s Show and last year's Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Kunis has also played her share of kick-ass action heroines, as in last year's Max Payne, in which she played assassin Mona Sax. In Eli, Kunis said her character has more dimension.

"I think in Max Payne she was very much just that," Kunis continued. "She was an assassin, and you see what you get. In Book of Eli, it's a very real character that has to fight to survive in this specific type of world and learns how to survive versus being placed in front of you as this one person. You get to see her grow. It was a great, great part."
"My character in that is pretty awesome, I have to say," Kunis said. "She starts off very young, very naive, very sheltered, but also very hungry to learn about life. What can I say? [She] gets inspired by Denzel Washington's character and goes on this journey with him throughout the film. It takes place in maybe four or five days, and she grows up so fast and so quickly and almost becomes a woman and takes over. She was a beautiful, beautiful woman to play."

The Hughes brothers, Allen and Albert, directed The Book of Eli. Kunis was a fan of their work from Menace II Society and the documentary American Pimp and admired their process on set.

"They're very much like one brain, but one completes the other," Kunis said. "One is incredibly technical and sees things while shooting, sees how the edit's going to go and sees the whole entire film in his head," she said. "One is more about the emotion of the scene and more about the purpose of things. But ultimately they discuss things amongst each other, after a take, and then they send one off. You never really get two at the same time to talk to you about notes. They converse, and then one gets sent off. Which one you get is like a surprise. It's like, 'Hmm, who's going to come talk to me today?' But it's fun. They're great working together. They're both incredibly smart, really, really talented guys, and they have an amazing vision, and they kind of fill each other's gaps."

The Book of Eli opens Jan. 15, 2010.

Elizabeth Banks To Star In Next Three Days

Elizabeth Banks To Star In Next Three Days
I have really enjoyed Elizabeth Banks movies from Spiderman which she played "Betty Brant" to her break out role in "40 Year Old Virgin" and "W". Her versatility in her roles are great. Elizabeth Banks is in final negotiations to star in "The Next Three Days" for writer-director Paul Haggis at Lionsgate.

Banks will play the lead role of Laura, a woman who is imprisoned for a murder she claims she didn't commit, as her husband, the recently cast Russell Crowe, desperately tries to vindicate her.

The suspense drama is a remake of the 2008 French thriller "Pour Elle," which was written and directed by Fred Cavaye.

Haggis, his Highway 61 Films partner Michael Nozik and Fidelite's Marc Missonnier and Olivier Delbosc are producing. Lionsgate execs Alli Shearmur and Wolfgang Hammer are overseeing for the studio.

Filming is scheduled to begin next month.

Gus van Sant Going To Direct Restless

Gus van Sant Is In Talks To Develop and Direct Restless

Gus van Sant is in negotiations with Columbia to develop and direct "Restless," an original screenplay by first-time screenwriter Jason Lew.

Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Bryce Howard will produce for Imagine Entertainment.

The logline is being kept under wraps, though it is described as contemporary and distinctive take on young love.

Lew and Bryce Howard attended New York University together and it was there that Lew first wrote the story as a play. Howard, who had acted in plays with Lew, got a peek at the story and encouraged him to write it as a screenplay.

After several drafts and a "gestation period," Bryce Howard brought it to her father Ron who, taken with Lew's perspective and originality, wanted to further develop it for Imagine. Lew kept on working on the screenplay with Imagine execs, who ultimately showed it to Van Sant. Grazer was looking to reteam with his friend, with whom he worked on the Imagine-produced "Psycho" remake.

Columbia's Doug Belgrad and Andrea Giannetti responded to the originality and raw emotion of the story and pounced on it. Giannetti will oversee for the studio, which aims to move fast on "Restless." The intent is to shoot the movie in Oregon for around $15 million.

Mark Johnson Talks Third Narnia

ComingSoon.net recently got a chance to talk to producer Mark Johnson about the third installment in the "Narnia" franchise, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which Fox Walden will release in theaters on December 10, 2010 release.

"Andrew Adamson, who wrote and directed the first two, is a producer on it with me and Michael Apted is directing," said Johnson. "It's a whole new franchise, I think it's really benefiting from it. It's a slightly different look. This one is different from the others, it's in that ['Seventh Voyage of Sinbad,' old Harryhausen films] league and they go from island to island having adventures. I'm very excited about it."

He added that "Adamson said something that was so smart early on. I had just re-read the book and he said, I don't want to make a film based on 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,' I want to make a movie based on my recollection of it. He took a 9-year-old boy's imagination. He saw things that are not even in the book. Lewis left, sometimes major battles, on a single page, so Adamson just re-imagined it."

In the third film, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb, find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world.

Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan's Country – a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader – can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.

Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards Big Weekend

Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards Crushes Box Office This Week

Quentin Tarantino’s WWII tale "Inglourious Basterds" conquered the worldwide B.O., which was welcome news for the Weinstein Co. and Universal as the pic opened to an impressive $37.6 million domestically and $27.1 million more overseas.
Pic marks a key win that could yield a new franchise for TWC and Universal Pictures Intl., who are 50-50 partners on "Basterds."

The timing is good for both companies. Investors have been putting pressure on TWC to shore up its financials, while U has sustained a series of box office disappointments. Worldwide opening of $65.1 million makes "Basterds" anything but.

Sony’s sleeper "District 9" held up well in its second outing, with $18.9 million from 3,050 runs for a cume of $73.5 million. "District" and an unusually healthy crop of late-summer releases helped lift domestic B.O. revs as much as 27% over the same weekend last year.

"District 9" fell 49%, a good hold considering it was competing with "Basterds" for males. Sony said this was a sign of the film’s strong playability.

Competish for men and boys didn’t end there. Paramount’s testosterone-fueled "G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra" placed No. 3 in its third frame, grossing $12.5 million from 3,953 runs for a domestic cume of $120.5 million.

The weekend’s other two new entries were Warner Bros.’ family pic "Shorts," directed by Robert Rodriguez, and Fox Searchlight’s "Post Grad." Each film had trouble reaching its aud, although "Shorts" did far better business at $6.7 million from 3,105 runs. "Shorts" placed No. 6 for the weekend.

"Post Grad," a leftover title from the now-shuttered Fox Atomic, grossed only $2.8 million from 1,959 runs.

Harvey Weinstein told Daily Variety the bow of "Basterds," which marked Tarantino’s best opening by far, showed that he and his brother, Bob, are back to doing what they do best — taking an indie film and marketing it to a mainstream audience. He said a prequel and sequel are in the offing.

Going into the weekend, "Basterds," playing in 3,165 locations, had plenty to overcome: The majority of the film is subtitled, while its running time is 153 minutes.

But "Basterds" also had its advantages: Brad Pitt is the biggest star to appear in a Tarantino film, thereby broadening the audience. Pitt was at the center of the domestic marketing campaign. Overseas, an international cast made the film more accessible to Europeans.

"This is Bob and I focused and raw," Harvey Weinstein said. "In other words, we just concentrated on ‘Basterds.’ "

It’s been a banner week for the brothers. TWC’s TV wing is also back on the upswing with Thursday’s strong premiere of "Project Runway" on Lifetime, after the show was locked up for months in litigation over its move from rival cabler Bravo.

"Basterds" marked a departure from Tarantino in tone and story. It includes his trademark violence, but not at the same level as his previous films.

Tarantino has made all his films with Bob and Harvey Weinstein, first at Miramax and then at TWC. The previous venture was "Grindhouse," made up of two films: Tarantino’s "Death Proof" and Rodriguez’s "Planet Terror." The project was a B.O. disappointment, grossing $25 million domestically.
Before "Basterds," Tarantino’s top opener was "Kill Bill Vol. 2," which opened to $25.1 million

Schwarzenegger To Own Terminator Franchise?

Schwarzenegger To Own Terminator Franchise?
We all knew the latest Terminator film was not up to par. But now the franchise is in even more trouble then we thought.

Schwarzenegger, now California governor, has been approached by a consortium to jointly buy the franchise rights, which would guarantee future Terminator films.
It emerged he has not been paid fully for his cameo in the latest Terminator blockbuster.

Neither has British actor Christian Bale, star of Terminator Salvation.

The film’s producers named both actors as creditors when they filed for bankruptcy after their hedge fund backers demanded a return on their investment before the film had finished making money.

They say they have been left with debts of more than $40million, despite taking $370million so far.

The exact sums owed to the stars were not disclosed. Other creditors include MGM, Sony and Universal Studios. The petition was filed by Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, who own the Terminator franchise.

They failed to meet several repayment deadlines set by the principal financier, reportedly a hedge fund based in Santa Barbara, California.
Hollywood analysts see the case as a sign that investors are now jittery about the film business.

One, Mike Raia, said last night: “This is a tough lesson for Hollywood, but it can no longer spend other people’s money like water.

“Investors want fast returns and may consider movies a bad risk.

“Promises of future profits [from DVD sales] just don’t cut it any more in the motion picture industry.”

A source who worked on the film said: “This proves Hollywood isn’t bullet-proof in a down economy.”
