BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Jason Bourne Screenwriter Brought In For Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Reshoots

According to the report in Entertainment Weekly , the latest field general to rally the troops is actually Tony Gilroy, the main writer behind the Jason Bourne franchise. A veteran screenwriter and director, he's also a go-to resource and personal friend of Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, who has called upon his "Winston Wolfe-like" talents more than once regarding Star Wars projects in the past, so he's familiar with the sensitive nature of the property and unique material. This trusted consultant's credits include co-authorship of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum , and he also directed The Bourne Legacy . In addition to his Bourne pedigree, he was recruited to assist with script doctoring on the Rogue One director's previous film, Godzilla. Gilroy's mission on Rogue One is to offer detailed notes on the film's first cut once the picture is locked and possibly provide newly written material. However th

Jeremy Renner Replaces Christian Bale In America BS

There are yet more changes afoot for David O. Russell’s latest project, which once went under the title American Bullshit , but is currently looking for a new moniker (a move that should surprise exactly no one). But the new name – or lack thereof – isn’t the big news. Instead, Variety brings word that Jeremy Renner is now in negotiations to replace Christian Bale in the cast. Jeremy Renner  would play Jimmy Boyle, an intense, dedicated FBI agent who arrests con man Mel Weinberg and strong-arms him into running a scam that saw politicians arrested for making dodgy deals. Bradley Cooper is already locking down the role of Weinberg and Russell is looking for someone to play his mistress / con partner. The film, written by Eric Warren Singer, is based on the true account of the scam, which ran in the 1970s and 1980s. From the sounds of the report, Russell is looking to make this his next movie, since he has financing from Annapurna Pictures and has set a shoot date of February

The Bourne Legacy First Image. Whatcha Looking At?

USAToday got their hands on the first image from the upcoming film The Bourne Legacy . With Tony Gilroy still busy getting film in the can, the first image of franchise spin-off The Bourne Legacy has hit the web. Check out the massively exciting blend of explosions, sexy weapons and a scowling Jeremy Renner. Okay, okay… So the picture’s not that revealing. And it doesn’t have any weapons or explosions. The serious-looking Renner’s present and correct, though, even if he does look much as he did in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. In fact, we’re still wondering if Universal simply cut and pasted him from one of that film’s publicity stills and put him up against a new background. Then again, this film also sees him as a kick-ass international agent. Legacy finds Renner as Aaron Cross, another CIA-trained operative from a programme even more nefarious than Bourne’s Treadstone. Though Gilroy and co have been careful to keep most of the plot elements obscured for now, the lead

Jeremy Renner To Star In "Slingshot"

Because he clearly doesn’t already have enough on his plate, Jeremy Renner seems intent on keeping the work flowing by setting up Slingshot, a rally racing sports drama at Paramount that he’ll star in and produce. Slingshot will be based on the true story of Bill Caswell, who ditched a lucrative job as a finance banker, bought a $500 BMW car from Craigslist, souped it up for rally competition and went up against professional teams in the World Rally Championships in Mexico in 1991. Given the enormous challenges ahead of him, he won great acclaim by placing third in the final race. Don Handfield, Renner’s partner in his new production company, has written the script, which doesn’t yet have a director attached. It’s the second project announced by the pair, who already have a Renner-headed Steve McQueen biopic in development with James Gray writing the screenplay. You’ve got to give the man some credit for striking while the iron of his career is white hot. Renner’s got Mission

Jeremy Renner To Star In Steve McQueen Biopic

Northern California boy  Jeremy Renner continues his march toward Hollywood domination. The two-time Oscar nominee, who has been on an upward trajectory since starring in best picture winner The Hurt Locker, has formed The Combine, a production company he will run with partner Don Handfield. And the company is hitting the ground running, developing a Steve McQueen biopic that will serve as a starring vehicle for the actor. James Gray, who wrote and directed We Own the Night, is attached to write the McQueen screenplay, which will be based on the two books by Marshall Terrill: Portrait of an American Rebel and The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon. Video director Ivan Zacharias is attached to make his directorial debut on the project. Renner and Handfield will produce the McQueen project with Hurt Locker producer Greg Shapiro, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver (one of the producers of Black Swan), and Zacharias’ producing partner Nick Landon. Renner seems like a great fit fo

Jeremy Renner Offered The Bourne Legacy

Jeremy Renner , has been offered the starring role in Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy . Gilroy, who wrote or co-wrote the first three films in Universal's Bourne saga, has been testing actors for the last few weeks to play a brand new lead character distinct from Matt Damon's Jason Bourne (Damon isn't returning). Latinoreview broke this casting story 3 weeks ago and now THR has confirmed it. The problem, as always, is scheduling. It took a while to work out his ability to star in Paramount's Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters , which he's shooting now for a March release. That followed filming his role in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol , also for Paramount, which hits theaters in December. Then there's the little movie The Avengers , in which he plays Hawkeye for Marvel Studios and Disney. That comes out in May next year, but audiences will get a sneak peek at him in Thor, which Paramount hammers into theaters in two weeks to kick off the summer

The Bourne Legacy- Who's Going To Be The Leading Man?

The young male Role To Die For at the moment is the lead in The Bourne Legacy , the Bourne Identity spinoff film that will be directed for Universal by Tony Gilroy. The field is narrowing, and I'm told that the following are set so far to test: Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (Captain America), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American). There could be another name or two ( Logan Marshall-Green comes up as speculation), but that's who'll test first week of April. Now the choice could always come from an actor who doesn't test. Among the established names in the mix has been Shia LaBeouf (will not test, per insiders) and Battleship's Taylor Kitsch (has met with Gilroy and is a possibility). I don't think the studio feels this needs a big star. It's hard to find a better branded movie, and while it's not Matt Damon starring, Gilroy's writing work has provided the spine for the original series. That gives this
