BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Wanted Sequel In The Works

Derek Haas and Michael Brandt are feeling Wanted all over again. The screenwriting duo have been tapped to work on Wanted 2 for Universal, which is developing the sequel to the hit action movie starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy . The 2008 movie, directed by Timur Bekmambetov , was based on a comic mini-series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones and centered on a disillusioned office worker who discovers his father was part of a secret society of super-human assassins. Brandt and Hass wrote the screen story and shared screenwriting credits with Chris Morgan. The movie grossed $341 worldwide, so it wasn’t long before Universal put a sequel into development. But finding a story proved harder to crack. Morgan was commissioned to work on the project back in the fall of 2008. In 2009, Evan Spiliotopoulos was brought on board before the project quietly faded away. Now Haas and Brandt will move the Wanted 2 needle forward, based on Spiliotopoulos’ work. Mark Millar Talks Wanted 2 And Replacing Angelina Jolie

Mark Millar Talks Wanted 2 And Replacing Angelina Jolie MTV spoke to "Wanted" co-creator Mark Miller at the South By Southwest Film Festival and got some insight to an "Wanted 2" film. One thing we found out that if the film is made Angelina Jolie will not be in the film and its fraternity of assassins will move forward without her. "They killed off the most recognizable character, but I thought it was great to do that," Millar told MTV News. "It was so ballsy to kill off the one person you didn't expect to die." "What they're talking about is just moving on with the story and doing it properly," he said. "Just bringing in another cool character as this world opens up with all the different fraternities out there all across the world. This could change at any moment, but the last I heard two weeks ago, was that was the plan moving forward." With the first film diverging significantly from Millar's sour

Angelina Jolie Chooses "Gravity" Over Wanted 2

Angelina Jolie Chooses "Gravity" Over Wanted 2 Universal craved a sequel to Angelina Jolie’s assassination tango/loom tutorial Wanted. Unfortunately for the studio, Jolie is leaving them…wanting. We’ve just heard the actress has pulled out of the planned Timur Bekmambetov-directed sequel at Universal, and the studio has pulled the plug rather than recast the film. As for Jolie, we hear she is now intent on starring in Warner Bros.’ Gravity, a space thriller to be directed by Children of Men’s Alfonso Cuarón from a script he wrote with his 28-year-old son, Jonás. Like Wanted 2, Gravity had previously been set up at Universal, with Jolie set to star. But a few weeks ago, the studio put Gravity into turnaround, possibly because it’s such an artistically challenging project: Jolie would be alone on-screen for much of the movie, playing the sole surviving human member of a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth and her daughter. (In that way it’s reminiscent of
