New Trailer For Disney's Maleficent

The first teaser trailer for Disney’s alternative take on the Sleeping Beauty legend, Maleficent, went online in November, so it must be time for another one. Now it has come to pass, with a new promo that hints at how this film will tell another side to the fairy tale


This story sees Jolie's Maleficent grow up in an idyllic forest, only to see it ravaged by an invading army and be betrayed by those closest to her, which poisons her heart. Out for revenge, she curses the baby daughter of the invading king - but as the child grows up (into Elle Fanning) she realises that the youngster may be the key to peace between the kingdoms.

Blending shots of the Mouse House’s 1959 take on the tale with footage from Maleficent (plus an additional section that essentially replays the original trailer’s meeting between Fanning’s Aurora and Jolie’s black-clad sorceress), this gives an even clearer look at the star in all her horned glory.
