Though she had only been in talks up to this point, waiting to see a finished script, Charlize Theron has officially signed on to play the big bad going up against Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto in Fast 8 . Theron will actually be playing in the new Fast & Furious entry, and rumors had pinned her as a potential new member of the nasty Shaw family (previous siblings including Luke Evans ' Owen and Jason Statham's Deckard). But it sounds like she's just going to be a powerful, dangerous woman who has great influence in the criminal underworld. It would be fun to see the new movie shot almost completely from her point of view, a la Mad Max: Fury Road, but that probably won't work in terms of the Fast films' usual focus.
