THR is reporting New Line and Tom Hardy are loading up on 100 Bullets . In the first move since assuming oversight of DC Entertainment’s Vertigo comics imprint from corporate parent Warner Bros., New Line is developing an adaptation of the acclaimed comic by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso. Hardy , who played villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises as well as starred in this summer’s Mad Max: Fury Road, is on board to produce the adaptation with an eye to star. He will produce with Dean Baker via the duo’s Hardy Son & Baker production shingle. The project is already down the line in development, having a script by Chris Borrelli, whose credits include the recent supernatural horror movie The Vatican Tapes. EW is reporting the CW is starting to development on a show based  The Notebook into a TV series. While the film used Gena Rowlands as Allie Calhoun, illuminating the history of her grand love affair as a younger woman (played by Rachel McAdams ) with Noah ( Ryan Gosling , launching a thousand memes), it appears the show may be more focused on just the version of the story that takes place shortly after World War II. The story will follow Noah and Allie as they start their tentative romance and build their lives together. Though the channel is more known for its superheroes and action adventure slant, it has been trying to broaden itself recently, with shows such as Reign and Jane The Virgin. Nicholas Sparks’ production company is driving this one, with Sparks looking to have input as an executive producer and Joyful Noise writer/director Todd Graff penning the pilot. EW is reporting that if you’re waiting for a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer at Disney’s D23 fan convention this weekend … sorry, you are going to have to keep waiting. The movie, which opens Dec. 18, will be part of Saturday’s presentation of live-action films, but it will not feature new clips, Entertainment Weekly has learned from a reliable source. In July, we told you that the Lucasfilm Comic-Con panel also wouldn’t have a trailer, and it didn’t, but it featured a behind-the-scenes video that was almost as tantalizing. This time, whatever revelations may be in store at the Anaheim fan gathering will not involve seeing sections of the movie. For doubters, I may as well reveal that “reliable source”… “It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise,” director J.J. We look at the options available to Fox as the studio circles the wagons. Story by Matt Cummings It's clear that 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four is a bomb of epic proportions, led by a series of creative disasters and poor decision-making that turned into the worst-reviewed comic book movie ever. Its second-place box office debut this weekend sends a stunning message: not all superhero movies are alike, and no comic book franchise can simply throw together a Frankenstein-ed plot, fill it with substandard acting, and then take away the director's creative control and still expect audiences to attend. This sort of Box Office Roulette does have an end game, as Fox now circles the wagons in a desperate attempt to figure out what's next, going so far as to hand out surveys to those few who've seen it, hoping to glean some insight.
