The Notebook TV Series Headed To The CW

EW is reporting the CW is starting to development on a show based The Notebook into a TV series.

While the film used Gena Rowlands as Allie Calhoun, illuminating the history of her grand love affair as a younger woman (played by Rachel McAdams) with Noah (Ryan Gosling, launching a thousand memes), it appears the show may be more focused on just the version of the story that takes place shortly after World War II. The story will follow Noah and Allie as they start their tentative romance and build their lives together.

Though the channel is more known for its superheroes and action adventure slant, it has been trying to broaden itself recently, with shows such as Reign and Jane The Virgin. Nicholas Sparks’ production company is driving this one, with Sparks looking to have input as an executive producer and Joyful Noise writer/director Todd Graff penning the pilot.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity.
