LESLIE BIBB, RYAN KWANTEN AND AMY SMART BOARD 7500 LOS ANGELES – November 1, 2011 – Leslie Bibb (Iron Man 2,Zookeeper), Ryan Kwanten (TV’s True Blood) and Amy Smart (Crank) have joined the cast of 7500, a thriller directed by Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge). The film follows a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a transpacific flight. Written by Craig Rosenberg (TV’s Lost), 7500 reteams Shimizu with Grudge producer Taka Ichise who will produce alongside Roy Lee (The Ring). John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are serving as executive producers. Kwanten and Smart will co-star as married couple Brad and Pia Martin, who board Vista Pacific Flight 7500 with their two longtime friends for a trip to Japan. Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in Black Sands , an action film that will be directed by Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy. Financed by Bill Block’s QED, the film will begin production April 1, 2012. In the script that Skip Woods has rewritten, Schwarzenegger will play a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest. The tone is Man On Fire meets High Plains Drifter. Block will be selling worldwide territories starting today. Woods scripted A Good Day To Die Hard , which Fox is readying for production. Waugh and McCoy most recently directed Act Of Valor , an action adventure that features actual Navy SEALs. That film was acquired at an auction for distribution by Relativity Media, which paid a $13 million minimum guarantee and a $30 million P&A commitment, and scheduled the film for release on February 17, which is President’s Day Weekend. The duo have signed on to " Dead Man Down ," a mob drama from the the director of the original Swedish adaptation of " The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ." Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace will star in Dead Man Down , a mob drama to be directed by Niels Arden Oplev , who helmed the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo , which starred Rapace. IM Global is behind the movie and is unveiling it at AFM. Neal Moritz is producing the movie with Ori Marmur via their Original Films banner. J.H. Wyman, a writer-exec producer on Fox’s sci-fi series Fringe, is also producing. Wyman also wrote the script, a revenge tale featuring a mobster’s hitman ( Farrell ) who falls for a disfigured former beauty ( Rapace ), with the two of them going on a violent spree.
