While the team behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story might prefer to keep all the movie's secrets under wraps until release, there's no accounting for eagle-eyed folk pausing trailers and sizzle reels to find details. Such as Jimmy Smits reprising his role as Bail Organa – Princess Leia's adoptive father – in the film. Jokingly confronted with the screen grab while appearing on US morning chat show The Talk (we'll embed the video at the bottom, but it might suffer from geolocking outside the States), Smits looked shocked that anyone would have spotted the brief glimpse, but then demurred (probably worried about Disney activating the poison pill in his leg if he says too much), before confirmed through humour, talking about "cameos" and "small parts." Though we learned back in June that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be undergoing some re-shoots, Disney and Lucasfilm have kept largely quiet about the extent of filmmaker Tony Gilroy's involvement, but according to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, he's had more to do than we all thought. Director Gareth Edwards was the main man behind the camera for the main shoot and is still heavily involved with the movie, but Gilroy has reportedly been given more input into the editing process, having been present for the re-shoots. Yet from the sounds of it, this is not Gilroy being parachuted in to take over control of the film; he's simply working alongside Edwards, as he did on Godzilla, to hone its final form. "There are not two separate editing rooms; they are all in there with their ideas," says one source. "Tony's a strong force, but they're all working together." Revealed yesterday in London during the “ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ” cast panel at Star Wars Celebration was Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series “ Jyn Erso ” action figure — the first of new “ Rogue One ” products to be seen publicly. The 6-inch figure was revealed by Jyn herself – played by Felicity Jones – with panel moderator, Gwendoline Christie who welcomed Felicity to the action figure club. “Jyn” will be represented across a variety of products – something fans will have to wait and see for themselves later this year, when all new “Rogue One” products launch globally at retail.
