CONAN THE BARBARIAN has so much potential but it falls short, way short, in fact I consider this one of the worst films I’ve seen this year but I don’t blame Jason Momoa because he’s got the physique and the attitude for this role, I blame this hyborian catastrophy on the filmmakers especially poor directing by Marcus Nispel. Millennium Films has acquired the rights to The Bricklayer , the best-selling novel by former FBI agent Noah Boyd, and attached Gerard Butler to star as a rogue former agent who’s called in to help battle a criminal group that is demanding an escalating series of multi-million dollar ransom payments. It’s the first project to be assembled by Mark Gill since he stepped into the role of Millenium president in June, and he’ll oversee it along with Boaz Davidson, head of development and creative affairs, and head of production John Thompson. Hanna Weg (Enigma) is adapting the novel for the screen. Butler, Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson are producing, with Erik Lindsay and Weg serving as executive producers. The Bricklayer was published by William Morrow in January, 2010. Boyd is actually a pseudonym used by former FBI agent Paul Lindsay. We were unable to attend the Movies On Demand One On One with Conan's Jason Momoa so who better to ask to attend for us than our good buddy Randy from thearnoldfans . Although the Lionsgate film " Conan " does not come out until next month, I was given early access to interview two lead actors of the film at Comic Con in the press room at the Hard Rock Hotel. Although many of us believe this will not be as good as the epic Schwarzenegger version, I am optimistic that this will still be a fun film and I wish the barbaric actor of Game of Thrones and Conan , Jason Momoa , big success as an actor. On the other hand, I am very disappointed that Momoa does not know " WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE ." That's right, it turns out he has never watched the original Arnold film. Lee Daniels is set to direct the sexual thriller, which follows a Miami Times reporter as he returns to his Florida hometown to investigate the imprisonment of a death row inmate. Pedro Almodovar developed a feature project with Dexter for more than a decade before Daniels became involved early this year. Hilary Shor is producing with Daniels. Fans of ' The Expendables " have been clamoring for a sequel since the final round of alter kocker gunfire went off last summer. Now it looks like they'll get their wish-- but without Sylvester Stallone behind the camera. The follow-up movie is a priority at producer Millennium Films, where it's being developed by Stallone, the creative force behind the original. But Stallone, who both starred in and directed the 2010 summer hit, isn't, at the moment, planning on helming the new movie. Instead, he's been meeting with directors to tackle the sequel, said a person who was briefed on the project but was not authorized to speak about it publicly. Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan Rose McGowan has been added to the cast of the upcoming film Conan. She is set to play an evil half-human/half-witch. McGowan's casting must cause speculation over the fate of the planned Red Sonja film. After all, last we heard McGowan was set to play the lead, and since that story exists in the same universe as Conan, it's a bit odd to cast her as a very different character here.
